Mom and Dad and 2 Picky Kids do the DDP ~ With Lots of Pictures!

We thought H&V was just ok. Looking back, we should have left DHS before dinner because we didn't stay for Fantasmic (we didn't want to sit in the rain). Since we had to pay OOP, it was WAY too much for what we actually ate. However, the desserts were fantastic! Maybe we'll try MM next time for the pkg. I've been to the Brown Derby before (when we won our trip) and it was fabulous!

I'm not sure why things take so long there. That first time we were in there for 2 hours!! Everytime our waitress would leave we knew it would be a good 15-20 minutes before we saw her again. Whether it was to get drinks or just to take our card to pay. So we knew better this time and would tell her - we are ready to order or we are ready to pay or whatever. And it really helped!

Tusker House

We originally had an 8:00 ADR for breakfast at Tusker House. While at DHS the day before the thought of getting everyone up and ready by 7:15am to leave for AK just seemed like a bit much to me. So I called and was able to change our ADR to either 10 or 10:20. I took the 10:00. It worked out good, we got to AK at opening and rode a few things and then went to breakfast. I wasn't exactly sure where Tusker House was so when we got off of Dinosaur I asked the CM in the Gift Shop. He informed me that it was clear on the other side of the park near the Safari. And it was now 9:45! But it was no problem, we made it in plenty of time. We checked in at the podium outside (which is actually behind the building) and were seated within about 2 minutes! We were taken to the very back room and told the characters would be around soon.

The buffet was very big and had several choices. We all thought most of the food was good. Although the eggs were undercooked and wet. The kids enjoyed all the doughnuts and pastries. The CM's working behind the buffet were very friendly. Our waiter was just okay. Pretty slow. When he took our card to pay our bill it took forever! I could see him and he seemed to be having some technical difficulties with the computer. The characters were great! They all made their way to our table and posed for pictures and signed autograph books. They also did a cute little parade around the restaurant which the kids really enjoyed participating in.

Tusker House was a good breakfast, but afterwards DS9 said - Next time can we go to Crystal Palace instead, the food is better! And we have to agree with him on that one!

Yeah I didn't know where is was! We don't spend much time at AK either.

The kids had a lot of fun of course, they always do. But nothing beats a Crystal Palace breakfast I guess!!
