Mom...am I supposed to have shoes on?? - August 2013 ***FINISHED 5/5***

Monday August 19th

I had Epcot rope drop planned this day. So we got up and dressed fairly early. We were out the door and heading down the stairs by 8:00. As we got to the second floor landing Bradey says to me "Mom.....ummm, just wondering....am I supposed to have shoes on??"

:woohoo: MOM OF THE YEAR HERE! :woohoo:

"Yes hunny....lets go back up."

So Bradey and I trudged back up the stairs and put his shoes on. Geez....this wasn't a great start.

So, back to the plan. We walked over to the TTC, stopping on the way to pose by the tikiman.

Notice...he has shoes on!

And we arrived at the TTC and waited for just a bit for the monorail

And finally...on our way.

Trust me, the sun was in his eyes...he isn't mad at me.

I just love arriving at Epcot via monorail. You get some great perspectives of future world.

We weren't very far back from the turnstyles, but for some reason, I always picked the lines that didn't move. So it took forever to get through once they opened up. But we walked straight over to Soarin and walked right on.

We had the second row. Some people hate it if they can't be in the first row, but it never bothers me. I like it no matter what. I think I am in the minority, but I can take or leave Soarin. It is neat, but it isn't something I would EVER wait in line for.

After Soarin, I wanted to eat breakfast, but Bradey said he wasn't hungry yet, so we walked over to Living with the Land. This is one of Bradey's favorite rides because he loves to garden.

After this we had breakfast. Last July I had tried the breakfast panini with Dani and we just loved it. I mean, so much so that I have dreamed about this sandwich. So I ordered it again.

It was okay. Not nearly as good as I remembered it last year. But still edible. Bradey and Sara both got the cinnamon bun. They enjoyed them both.

After breakfast we walked over to ride Nemo. While we were there we saw the Crush show. Bradey was upset (actually crying) because he wanted to sit up front and interact with Crush, but he didn't want to be without me and there were no spots for us to sit up there. See....told you he was very shy.

But once the show started he perked up and it was fun. After that we got the usual Bruce photo.

I really had wanted to try Test Track this trip. It was closed last year, so I have never ridden it. But I knew we needed to do Soarin, and by the time we got over to TT the return times were just too late for our plans.

We were still too early for WS. So I asked Bradey what he wanted to do while we waited. He said "the fountains...the fountains". So off we went back across the park to the jumping fountains over by Figment.

Bradey and I tried to catch one.

We missed that one. But he knocked my sunglasses off. Oops.

Don't worry, they weren't broken, just the lenses popped out. These are perscription, $300 sunglasses, but I have had them since Bradey was 6 months old. They are very scratched already, so I didn't care at all. It was funny. I think we laughed about that for a good 10 mins.

I got Bradey with a couple of the jumps, then he went over to the ones he can reach.

You can kinda see how wet he is in this next one...

At about 10:45 we started over towards WS. It was then that I remembered that I had wanted to try the Agent P adventure. So we picked up a communicator and got our assignment. Bradey picked Mexico, so we headed over there.

I have to admit. This activity is very neat, but don't do it right at opening. Everyone else is at the same place finding the same hidden things you are. It ruins the fun when you have to wait for the person in front of you to get done. You can't really find the things yourself. And Bradey was a little young for this. The kids really need to be able to read the instructions themselves to get the full effect.

Sara took pictures of the Mexico pavilion while we saved the world.

After we saved Mexico, you could decide to keep going with a new mission, or turn in your communicator. Since he didn't enjoy it that much, we decided to give it up.

Up next....continuing around the world.

Oh no! Poor Bradey! I feel so bad that he cried on EE! Glad he's still up for BTM though!

I love FotLK! Never thought to sit at the top before...hmmm... :scratchin

OK I just realized that I am WAY behind! What the heck happened to your chapter links? I rely on those to keep me updated! :rotfl2:

Going to get caught up!

Hahaha... Bradey DOES have shoes on - GREAT JOB!!! :rotfl2:

Beautiful - Epcot is just as gorgeous as MK in the morning - I' have never seen it from this perspective because we always arrive by bus. Sigh.

[We weren't very far back from the turnstyles, but for some reason, I always picked the lines that didn't move. So it took forever to get through once they opened up. But we walked straight over to Soarin and walked right on.

We had the same issue - every. darn. time. It was really annoying!

I wouldn't wait for Soarin' but I would get FPs for it! LOL

All of it looks NUMMY! Love FOOD!

I have never ever done the Nemo show... And it's something I want to do - it's just always overlooked by us.

Hahahah... This totally cracked me up!!! I love ya Suzi!

Wow he looks soaked!

That's good to know - but such a bummer for Bradey.

Gorgeous pictures Sara! I love the Mexican pavillian - it's so cool and so dark.

Can't wait to hear about the rest of this day!!!

D~

Ok good I wasn't as far behind as I thought! Whew!

You know, when they were doing that WS thing with Kim Possible, we never did it but I always saw other guests having that same problem - where there was a group already there and it gives away the whole thing to whoever is next in line! :confused3 We never even bothered doing it because by the end of our first day, we'd seen all of the little surprises!

Too funny that you left with Bradey's shoes! At least he said something before you got all the way to the monorail! Or until you were already ON the monorail and you noticed yourself!

The pics of Epcot with NO ONE in the park are awesome! How amazing would it be to have it all to yourself? :lovestruc

Suzi, a fun update.

I can't believe Bradey forgot his shoes; luckily, he remembered them before you got to the monorail.

I don't think we have ever walked on Soarin'. I love Soarin', but those spots in the screen really bother me.

Mark had that cinnamon roll at Sunshine season and loved it.

I'm glad Bradey enjoy Turtle Crush despite not sitting on the floor.

You didn't ride Figment?

They never had those games when our boys were young, but I see a lot of people playing them. Maybe Bradey will want to try again when he is a little older.

Hi Suzi- I love your report and have to say that your son is do cute I just want to hug him. It looks like your stay at the Poly (my favorite) was perfect. Can't wait to hear the story behind the shoes. Hope you have a nice day
Jane

OMG the glasses!!!! i love them without the lens... totally hot.

so.. shoes... I hear they are the thing to wear nowadays. i mean i am sure you don't HAVE too..

the pictures of Epcot are amazing! LOVE LOVE the fact there is NO ONE in there!!! picture perfect!!!! :cheer2:

My kids love them but they take forever. We have only done the Kim Possible version but I think they would be more enjoyable if you just did one little activity in each country. I also wish they were more educational or were setup so the kids would interact wih the cast members.

I need to come back to reread on my computer so I can see your pictures better. :)

Sorry about the chapter links. I have never done them before.....my TRs don't usually move very fast, so it's not a problem. I just thought I would try them this time just to get more used to the idea. You know...in case I get popular on here and there starts to be a lot of chitchat in between posts. Doesn't look like there is a danger of that :rotfl2: Afterall, I'm not D~, or Mo, or Kathy.....or a Frump. I did get to meet a Frump last July...Kristen was super super nice! Love those reports popcorn::

So yeah...Bradey was a trooper on the rest of the trip. EE was just too much too soon.

I love sitting at the top at FOLK. Those bleachers are horrid. Why are most of Disney's seats so uncomfortable. You'd think they would take that into consideration...you know...to preserve the Magic :thumbsup2

I wish I had seen other people doing the Agent P thing. I would've just said nevermind. But it's okay. We didn't pay anything for it...it was fun for a bit. Next time I think he will really like it, but I will make sure to not go right at opening.

Oh my gosh....I would LOVE to have Epcot all to myself. Especially WS. To be able to just leisurely wander around the countries and look in the shops without all the masses. Oh heaven!

So, I fixed the chapter links....I will try to keep up on them.

Hahaha... Bradey DOES have shoes on - GREAT JOB!!!

:thumbsup2

Beautiful - Epcot is just as gorgeous as MK in the morning - I' have never seen it from this perspective because we always arrive by bus. Sigh.

Yeah, it's pretty cool coming in via monorail. I think that is how I got this new arrival day tradition of MK on arrival then Epcot. Because when I took Dani last year, I knew I wanted her to see Epcot from monorail, but we were staying at POFQ, so I had to come from the MK area. So I said we would go to ride the PeopleMover first and soak up the atmosphere then hop the monorail to our dinner ADR at Epcot. It worked so well, it was an instant tradition.

We had the same issue - every. darn. time. It was really annoying!

Oh good, it wasn't just me then!

I wouldn't wait for Soarin' but I would get FPs for it! LOL

I really wanted to do TT, but didn't have a FP runner. Bradey's too young and Sara doesn't know where to go. I thought we would just head right over there after Soarin and a quick bite, but Bradey wanted to do LWTL and that takes up time. I knew by the time we got over there it would be too late. I should've gotten Soarin FPs while we were there. Oh well....next time we will have MagicBands and FP+, so there is a good chance I will get to schedule TT then.

All of it looks NUMMY! Love FOOD!

I love Sunshine Seasons. I love the menu for all meals, the setting, the smell of the Land. And... free drink refils! Just a great place.

I have never ever done the Nemo show... And it's something I want to do - it's just always overlooked by us.

The Crush show??? Really?? Oh you must. It is so funny. Even without little kids, it is a great show. And really quick. It doesn't take up much time.

So you didn't do TT then? If not - you didn't miss much... So sad that it's just not the same anymore.

Nope. Just never worked with our schedule. We checked it every time we went by. Even single rider was super long!

We love the fountains too! We didn't do them at all this trip.

:sad2: How can you miss ANYTHING with a 10 day trip?? I just don't get it!

Hahahah... This totally cracked me up!!! I love ya Suzi!

Anytime :joker:

Wow he looks soaked!

Yeah, he was. Me too. But it was hot...so it felt good.

That's good to know - but such a bummer for Bradey.

Yeah, he was still having fun. It just didn't hold his attention like it would if he was older.

Gorgeous pictures Sara! I love the Mexican pavillian - it's so cool and so dark.

Yeah me too. Our first visit (on arrival night) was ruined because of Bradey losing his pin. We didn't look around at all. So this time it was great.

Can't wait to hear about the rest of this day!!!

Not tonight I guess....took me forever to fix my chapter links and do replies. Hopefully tomorrow because it is our yummy Beaches n Cream "lunch"!

Midori and I have never eaten here. Been to WDW 13 times and now, you have made us wonder why......:confused3

I know...it looks like such a cool place. But the menu isn't super appealing to me. And there are so many other amazing places at Epcot. One day, I would love to stay at a Boardwalk area resort and just plan to eat at Epcot every night. A different country every time. Aaahhhhh...someday.

Suzi, a fun update.

Thanks. And you are at the end of this day!! But there are still a couple updates before that because we had another full day!

I can't believe Bradey forgot his shoes; luckily, he remembered them before you got to the monorail.

I know! Crazy!

I don't think we have ever walked on Soarin'. I love Soarin', but those spots in the screen really bother me.

Yeah, me too. Can't they fix that??

Mark had that cinnamon roll at Sunshine season and loved it.

It looked good. I wish my sandwich was as good as I had remembered.

I'm glad Bradey enjoy Turtle Crush despite not sitting on the floor.

He did. I really thought he would be brave enough to do it this year...last year he really wanted to, but he was just too shy. I thought it would be okay this year. He was just so torn.

You didn't ride Figment?

Not this time. We rode him probably 4 times all vacation. One of my favorites!

They never had those games when our boys were young, but I see a lot of people playing them. Maybe Bradey will want to try again when he is a little older.

Absolutely. It was a great idea and a good way to keep older kids busy while the parents shop.

Hi Suzi- I love your report and have to say that your son is do cute I just want to hug him. It looks like your stay at the Poly (my favorite) was perfect. Can't wait to hear the story behind the shoes. Hope you have a nice day
Jane

Hahaha...Jane, the shoe story is at the beginning of this last update. Silly :rotfl2:

OMG the glasses!!!! i love them without the lens... totally hot.

Yeah, we got a good chuckle out of it too!

so.. shoes... I hear they are the thing to wear nowadays. i mean i am sure you don't HAVE too..

Yeah yeah yeah

the pictures of Epcot are amazing! LOVE LOVE the fact there is NO ONE in there!!! picture perfect!!!! :cheer2:

What??? Say that again.....my pictures....from my cell phone.....are "AMAZING"???? That was MY phone too...not Sara's :thumbsup2

Enjoying your report! Your son is so cute!!

Thank you! And WELCOME!

Epcot or shoes? Epcot! At least he asked you before you got all the way to the park. LOL I do enjoy Soarin but I don't like to do those adventures in world showcase. My kids love them but they take forever. We have only done the Kim Possible version but I think they would be more enjoyable if you just did one little activity in each country. I also wish they were more educational or were setup so the kids would interact wih the cast members.

I need to come back to reread on my computer so I can see your pictures better. :)

You are soooo right. The adventure did take forever. I kinda thought you would have a couple little things in each country. Not spend a 1/2 hour in one country.

Amended post. I missed the report on the shoes sly me. How funny but even funnier if he got to the park!!!! It is so nice to see the two of you having so much fun together. Hope you have a great week
