Mojito Monkey Mama's 2 cont'd

Okay Thank you for all of your support at this time I really do need it. I guess Mike's dad finally ask him what was up seeing that I did give my notice 2 days before I left so that makes it 2 1/2 weeks now (wow I gave them a few extra days) so I guess Mike did tell him somewhat of the problems that I was having with this company and the family.

OH BREAKING NEWS (HI LURKERS) I have talked Mike into a Disney Cruise YES!!!!!!

Now just trying to find one that is open:confused3

Pooh,

I cant even talk him into doing any cruise much less a Disney one. So my bff and I have been talking about doing a cruise next year.

So I am enjoying my peaceful weekend.:cloud9: :cloud9: So I come home from clothes shopping and in our mailbox is our tax bill. I cant believe it went up 1000 in a year.:scared1: That is a bit much I just cant believe it. That will be a nice surprise for him when he gets home:rolleyes1

DH wants to do a Disney Cruise in Apil instead of just doing a week at Disney. He suggested I price the Land & Sea trip because he feels bady that Evie won't get to go to the parks this year. When I asked him was he forgetting about September, he said, "But I said no." I calmly explained that the decision wasn't solely his, he's the Dad, not the President... he doesn't get VETO powers. SO, I have to wait until he comes to terms with her going in Sept. with me. At that point, I can figure out if he wants to still do land & sea or if he wants to totally do a Disney cruise & skip the parks.

I just hope we can get on the ship if they have an opening in the cat that I need. I get sea sick so I need mid ship and a balcony.

Holy Crap thats alot of dough:confused3.

So just doing some shopping, I have a suggestion you should treat yourself to a spa day while everyone is gone you deserve it!:thumbsup2

I never thought I could get Mike to agree to anything Disney with me THIS YEAR espcially for our Honeymoon!!

VM ???? nope...

I need a direct address for you the package I have to send to you won't go to a P.O. box.

Your Shoes I went and bought them last night. Oh do you want to do the same thing as we did before instead of me giving yo money and you giving me money back just tell me what my total is and go from there or if you would rather do the othe then just let me knwo.

Miss ya,

Are you teleporting back to Disney? If so, can you take "passengers"?

Talked to DH again last night about our Spring trip. I mentioned doing a full week at either WL or AKL instead of the 4 days Land & 3 days Sea trip. It would still be $1000 cheaper. We honeymooned at CSR, but that was 10 years ago. Historically, we've stayed at value resorts because of budget and theming for our DD. Now we can afford something a bit bigger/nicer and I really want to do this right.

Do you guys have opinions about or experience with either the Wilderness Lodge or Animal Kingdom Lodge? I've never even been to either place but I'm thinking about scheduling a meal at one or the other this September so I can see them in person.

Mom2Evie-just a thought re: WL & AKL. You might want to look into renting DVC points. You can probably still save a few $ more and have better accomodations. I will more than likely get blasted but we were not impressed with the WL rooms(DVC). IMO they are in need of a update & balconies were right on top of your neighbor. I'll be glad to help you if you want to explore this option.:hippie:
Bon

Bonzi, Thanks for the offer & info. If we rent DVC points, we can't use the DDP. Hubby really likes using the dining plan and I must confess that I do too. I know there is a DVC rent/trade board here on the Dis but it doesn't make much sense to me. How do I know that I'm getting a good deal or what a fair price even is?

You may still purchase the DDP w/o having a ticket restriction. Points can be found usually between $10-12 per point. Go to the rent/trade board and plug in your dates & resort choice. It will calculate your point total, then multiply. If you give me dates. I can do this for you. Most of the time rentals avg. around that of a mod. price. Only a thought;)

Mom2Evie, Bonz gave you great advice. I love Old Key West and it seems very family friendly with bikes and boats and such. It is really like an oasis in the middle of DW but convenient to most everything. JMO Keep in mind that while I do not care for AKL or WL I also do not care for the Contemp or Poly which many others do. Guess that is why they have so many different kinds of places to stay. If I win the lottery I might enjoy one of those Boardwalk balcony rooms just to watch the people and it is convenient to Jellyrolls!! (pssst, just because you CAN afford to pay more does not mean you have to. Maybe you could stay at the cheaper place and go twice as often or as much? ):wizard: There are also so many extra activities to enjoy, Cirque, tea party, etc.

crzykid , several kind folks have suggested that I move closer to them but I have the best of both worlds here. Wages are reasonably high and houses are reasonable. Our last tax bill went DOWN $100 a year so we are now paying a whopping $650 a year. I used to think that high until I got to comparing with some of you other folks. I live in an 18 room house in a small town in the middle of three major metropolitan areas too. Something has to give as most everything is going up, except wages. Might you check on line to see what your neighbors are paying and see if you can appeal? Be careful though cause if you are paying less then them they may UP your rate!:scared1:

Pooh, most men will agree to most anything on a honeymoon. It is the afterward that can be a problem. :rotfl: I hope none of us DISers get the cabin beneath your balcony, especially if you get sea sick.

Yardwork, lots of cooking and laundry today.

Slightly Goofy,

I just went on the Lake County accessors office website. I was paying less than ALL my neighbors last year. We bought our house from a senior and I think they taxed us on that rate last year. My neighbor(the real nosey one) has the same exact house as we do and he pays about 400 less than we do How can that be?? I may not ruffle any feather for fear mine will go through the roof. If only my taxes were 650 a year. My brother keeps telling me to move to Indiana I just may have to think about that after this tax bill.

MomtoEvie---I have never stayed at either WL or AKL but have visited both. We have done the Whispering Canyon dinner and loved the fantastic lobby there. We have been to Mara(CS) at AKL as a break from the parks and loved the theming there so much we want to go back so are using Boma as our excuse ...lol

Go tour the resorts, they are all fantastic. The only ones we haven't at least made a quick stop at are CB, All Stars, and Corando Springs. Tho we havent hit the DVC ones either, but I dont feel right going there since we dont have the DVC. Fun stuff to do at them all and the Deluxes even have scheduled tours (free ) on occasion

Slightly Goofy--:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: regarding your PM and just to let you know I am super jealous with how many rooms you have in your house.

S/G-OKW is our fav. As I told M2E, the vast amount of space is incredible. The washer/dryer alone are worth it, we have gotten to carry on only most trips. Thanks also to Owners Lockers, have to have some place to store the booze:lmao: A studio runs 8pts a night in low season, so for $80 you can really feel like a queen.
You are all well aware of our boys situation at the Lutheran school. Well....today our Paster announced that the Principal has received a "call" to another school. After 25 yrs and just finished building a new school to open fall of 08 I find this ironic. The Lord works in strange ways:worship:

yes you can still avail the DDP and the on going rate as of last month was between $8 to $11 my friend rented hers out for $8 since the one who needed the points took all her points so she was happy to do it at that price.

aarrgghhh 18  I have a 5 room condo and I pay that for my taxes.... I am moving to your house Linda....:rotfl:

they have a resoRt tour at WL... at 9AM and the CM ohhh I have to find his name... he knows everything about the WL and it is a fun tour to take......

but dont ask me anYthing about AKL puleeeeze!:scared: :snooty: unless it is about their valet service :rolleyes1 about 5'11... fair complexion.. nice smile.. I mean they take care of car.. yes they do...

Timmie, it sounds as if that valet service has YOUR motor running and in high gear! At my age something just does not let me hand my keys to someone about my grandkids age though. :rotfl2: You are welcome to move in with me as long as you do some of these darned chores. I am plumb wore out.

Bonz, OKW is the only resort that I have not stayed at that I would enjoy. I am afraid to rent points though as there is always a real chance, nowadays, of me having to cancel though. Next time you stay there let me know and I will come over and visit and see how the other half lives!

Vixie, you would not be jealous of all these rooms when it comes time to paint, wallpaper, carpet, clean etc. By the time I get the last room done it is time to start all over again. I paid more for my last car than we did for this house but there is a whole lot of my blood, sweat, tears as well as decades of my life in it. :)

Crzy, We get a senior discount on our property taxes as my husband is older. :flower3: What part of Indiana? Near me please? We could ride down to FL together, often!!!!!:yay:
