How ironic to come here and read about Linda's taxes and how Indiana has lower taxes. At least they are a lot lower than Illinois. Anyway, DH talked to me this morning and said he was considering moving our company and us to Indiana due to the taxes being lower there and asked how I would feel about it. I am sure other things are more expensive though and I would much rather move where it is warmer and Indiana is just not far enough south to be warm most of the year. I know it costs a lot more each year for the kids to go to public school than here in Illinois. Well I doubt DH will really move he was just talking to a friend of his from Indiana and talking taxes with him. Illinois is just taxing businesses and residents right out of the state it seems.

I read that your children went back to public school. Now with the principal leaving will you move them to the church school now? Is this the same principal you had issues with? Hopefully, your boys are doing good at the public school and making new friends.

Not that we wouldn't love to have you as a fellow Hoosier but go to a warmer spot KB & I were talking yesterday, she said they were watching Weather Channel and know she understands why I go to FL all the time FWIW our taxes went up $500 this year

Boys will stay in the public school for the next three weeks. I haven't thought beyond that yet

Wait, are you going BACK to WDW next week? I thought our 2-3 vacations per year was a lot, but we've got nothing on you girl. I can't pretend anymore. I'm WICKED jealous of all your trips. DD asked me yesterday when we could take a WDW trip just her & I. I pointed out teh advantages of going with BFF & Daddy, but she stuck to her guns. She wants a Mommy-Daughter trip to WDW.

It is all about WHERE you live in any state, even Indiana. Down south here where I live in this tiny town we are a cheap bunch, mostly. A bit further north they pay for football stadiums for major football teams. In my small town the school wanted more baseball fields and we could not afford it so some local farmers just took their equipment out and plowed up some fields and then the local electrician hooked everything up, for free! Small town life is great, IF you have no secrets, do not mind if they keep on doing things the same way their grandparents did, etc. Works for me. We even have pretty mild winters here. Only two real snows this past year and I was in Florida for one of them!

Bonz, I am glad to hear your good news and I most sincerely hope that things will vastly improve now that Mrs. Reed is leaving as superintendent.

Ang, you would be welcome to come here and look around if you would like. I would pick a month were no a/c is needed though as our upstairs is hot, hot, hot in the summer. There is a website that compares COL with different places. You plug in your zip code and the one you want to move to and it gives you lots of facts.

Ants, you know exactly what I am talking about. You are just surprised that I would know that emotion. I have a good memory.

Electrician coming later. I could do it but am smart enough to know I should not. I am getting a new light fixture installed and plugs for a possible Xmas present (hdtv) and (wii) along with a couple more that might make my life a bit easier. It will cost me about $200 for it all.

I just made dinner reservations for Saturday, 9/13 at Whispering Canyon. That's AT Wilderness Lodge, right? We're going to head over early to walk around a bit and checfk things out. As much as I think its up to me, I figure if my DD falls in love with it and wants to saty at WL, then that is what we'll do.

At least in California you have beautiful scenery and weather. I have a niece, in Ohio, snake country no less that pays about the same property taxes. They built their own huge log cabin way back in the boonies. They can afford it though as they run an interesting business.

In Indiana they give you a discount for living in an older home, never mind that they might be bigger or sometimes nicer than the new ones. We have folks on the main drag up in Indy who live in mansions who pay less in PT than those in the new tract homes. Even in this town the folks who live in the new subdivision pay loads more and get less for their money. The secret is to live on the same street as those who run the town.

We love our DVC Wilderness Lodge, just a boat ride to MK but Bonzi is right, small balconies at DVC but we don't spend enough time in the room to worry about that. Nothing comes close to WL at Christmas time except maybe AKL. Then again I like OKW and BCV in the summer months Bottom line, to each their own so I would go exploring

I haven't stayed at the WL but the DVC rooms at AKL are a bit different then the Savanah Rooms at AKL the bathroom is different for DVC - they have a tube and shower one piece and the other rooms (only speaking for the room that Mike and I stayed in) was a walk in open and it was amazing!!1

Got the favors taken care of. Itinerary just about done (needs a bit tweaked, typed and printed). A couple of questions? Ang, do you still have an opening at O'Hana's for the 30th? Might be two of us and if that is a problem I can just book in at Kona.

I made ressies for 4 at Tony's just in case anyone, Pooh and Ants, might want to join me there. That is the night I am saving seats so you might be in the back of the park or have other plans. No problems either way.

I had to make ressies for 4 at Le Cellier at noon on the 10th(only seating they had) but if no one here want to join me I have a feeling that I can easily pick up someone out by the waterfall.

I prefer to eat at buffets because I cannot eat that much. Sounds funny but I like a bite of this or that rather than a lot of one thing.

I will be driving to Puck's, Raglan Road, Boma's as well as PepperMarket, Sassagoula and other CS and will have room for two in my car if anyone wants to avoid a long bus ride to any of these places.

There were a couple of days I left free to make different choices if the opportunity comes up.

I agree I would much rather go where it is warmer. Right now we are in northern Illinois so Indiana might be a little bit warmer but not enough to make me want to move there. lol Not that I don't want to be a hoosier. I just prefer it much warmer than here. This may sound sick but I really enjoy the warmeth of Florida in August/September and better yet is Phoenix, AZ in August/September minus the humidity. Anything under 60 and I am too cold and I don't even turn on the AC till we have several days over 90 degrees or I freeze.

As for the boys it sounds like you are dealing with it well taking it one day at a time which always works best for me so I don't drive myself nuts with the what ifs constantly going through my brain.
