Whew! Finally the book fair ends today. I've been so busy the last 7 days, running around like a chicken with my head cut off. I'm so glad soemone else is doing the book fair next year. Each morning before work, I've gone to the school to drop off the money box & start setting up for opening. After work, I pick up the money box (or hubby did), count it all out & break it down into paper money, coins, checks & CC totals. Then create the start up box fo rthe next day. This wouldnt' be so bad if DD didn't have ballet & tap on Mondays from 5:45 until 7:15. Tuesday night we had a Operation Smile fundraiser, Wednesday night I have dance class from 7 until 9pm and last night the book fair hours were extended until 8pm.
I arrived home at 8:20 to discover my hubby working on his race car in the garage and my 6 year old daughter had made herself a cheese sandwich.... with 5 pieces of bread & 4 pieces of cheese. She called it a double, double decker. I brought home McDonald's so she quickly abandoned the 1/2 sandwich remaining on her plate.
Today I leave work a bit early to break down the book fair & pack it back up for shiping back to Scholastic. I do the closing paperwork, write up my report fotr the board.... then I'm having a drink. A very big drink. maybe 2 drinks.
A few times this week I've attempted to speak to CymbalDiva (BFF) on the phone or IM to plan our September trip. We need to work out which park on which day to make sure our reservations are correct. Unfortunately, I haven't really had free time that worked into her life & vice versa. I swear, this weekened.... we're hammering out the whole Thursday AM we'll be in MK, Thursday PM we'll be in Epcot, etc.
Rei,
I remember those days then DS went to Middle School and I didn't bother with PTO anymore. The bookfair was a lot of work and nobody ever seemed to want to help out. I do so love books though so I never said no back then. Now I just support them by purchasing books each year.
Gmax,
I like your name the best too. It's good to see you on the thread.
