Mojito Monkey Mama's 2 cont'd

Pooh, are you driving alone? Ummm, maybe I will consider this one. I have an almost new car that gets really good gas mileage and know my way round property pretty well. I could not keep up with you but I can entertain myself very well. :rotfl:

SG/Linda (wonder if Bonz would want to join us or any other Indiana gals?) Heck we could pick up folks along the way. Wonder how many DISers live on that 1,000 mile trek? I have a BIG trunk. :rotfl2:

I am seriouse here gals if you want to go and don't want to take Tom then we can drive together and maybe pickup people on the way down I have a large SUV so we should be in good shape:thumbsup2

Wow that is a great car. You tell me when you want to go and we are off.

My A.P. is good until 9/07/08 and then I have to renew.

Here's the new list I added myself to. Won't be on for the next couple of days I have to watch my two nephews and their mother who have a whole variety of mental diagnosis so it should be fun. Send a ton of pixie dust my way, I'm gonna need it. lol Seriously, I love them but they suck my energy.

A trip without Tom. without anyone? I could take a long bath, sleep until I feel like waking up, not have to explain why the parade is not coming down this particular street and why it is not coming NOW, not have to apologize to folks for being shoved and pushed, laugh when I feel like it? Only have to get my own drinks and food, handle my own tickets? Not be on watch for the small signs that signal a major meltdown? Not have everyone who does not understand the situation think I am a major *****???? Be still my poor heart. Nirvana. :cloud9:

I keep having full sized visions of the model Disney Bus I have with all of the characters hanging out. Just imagine a big bus will All of US on it! Watch out world!!! :grouphug:

I dug out my AP's as I never did around to putting them in the safety deposit box and it seems I have about another week than I had thought. I have put myself on the Free Dining code list and we shall see what happens. I have another doctor's visit next week and maybe, who knows, they will find the right knob to twist to put me somewhere near normal, not too near though.

Ang, do you ever dream about coming back as a weak person? Seems that they rule the world and we just take care of them. Love hurts sometimes. Most of the time we cope. I hope this is one of yours and the time goes quickly and uneventfully.

I have to get up early to go watch my oldest grandson walk a cow around a ring. Not my favorite activity but I do love the boy.

Pooh, my car is a 2007 Toyota Camry with all the bells and whistles and gets 34 mpg on the highway. Varoom! Varoom!

SG/Linda

Hey all:goodvibes Just changed our dates again, 9/4-9/14/08. SG we will probably go out of Indy, just need to wait for the cheap fares. I will gladly pick you up. I have never had to pay higher than 140.00 for rt. Hope the gas prices don't make that a thing of the past.
I have been down in the dumps over our school issue. The boys cleaned out their desks on Holy Thursday, it was very sad. My mama bear claws have certainly been sharpened in the past six weeks. Do what you want to an adult but don't mess with my kids:mad: We start home schooling on Mon, need extra patience and prayers.:lmao:
See all in Sept.
Hey, we are doing the DxDDP in June:confused3 . It is only for three nights, which I've stretched into 4 days. Hope I don't regret it:scared1:

Linda, there is no way I'd be able to drive unless I didn't take my kids:idea: but then the "Mommy guilts" would kick in around Lexington. Kelliblue and I did a kid-free trip and I was fine for 24hrs but my kids have my heart. I have thought about a solo trip but just can't do it again. Of course, that all might change by next Fri:teacher: :rotfl:
Miss you so much:love:

Bonz, I know what you mean. I have a bit of guilt thinking of not taking Tom and he is not nearly as cute as your kids. He has no guilt about going places without me and I have never given him any as I am a grownup. ;)

You are so kind to offer to pick me up but that would be way out of your way and I would never want that. Besides, if I can figure it out, having my car down there might be a good thing for not only myself but someone else, you even. :thumbsup2

I am not going to make any promises or anything because there are too many variables but this will give me a goal and something to think about. Who knows maybe I will run across some local lady who has never been and would appreciate having an experienced guide. I just need someone to help me see to get on and off ramps and God forbid if I should have car trouble to help out as I am sure the asthma and mental problems would incapacitate me. Maybe not. Do not know.

Are you going to use the homeschool programs that they have? How about a local group where you can share the chores? It can take much less time since you will have few students but also, from my experience, it can also run into a lot more time with intelligent students because one lesson turns into many questions which get you all off in all different and wonderful directions. You will learn as much as they do. I know you will be a great teacher and do not forget that household chores can teach much too. Cooking is chemistry. For real. Math, reading, science and health class all rolled up in one. There are fabulous sites on the www that explain certain topics better than any ordinary teacher can and make learning so much fun. Maybe you could write a blog about homeschooling and how it goes? I would read it.

Love and hugs, SG/Linda

SG- my husband is the Curriculum Director for our public school so he will be doing our lesson plans, I just have to implement them. We are in a small town (1300 pop.) so although I'd love to find some other home schoolers, the pool is going to be very slim. I had to do some big talking to get the kids there in the first place, as the public school pays our mortgage. There won't be any looking back at this point. My Pastor is supporting me 100%, but he is not the Principal of the school.
One good thing with IN, you only have to keep attendance. So I can do road trips as long as I am comfortable with the kids progress. Hummmmm, wonder if they can read a map & figure mileage to Orlando:idea:  . So like a good math lesson to me:laughing:
love ya
Bon

SG, I can honestly and confidently say I would much rather be strong and help guide others than to be either weak or have mental challenges get in the way of my living a full and rewarding life. I have too many control issues to let someone take care of me anyway so I would be absolutly miserable in either of those situations. lol

Bonz,
You are going to be a wonderful home school parent. My neighbors and several other families I know homeschool and would have it no other way. I too live in a very small town and was surprised to find out that a local church has homeschooling on Fridays where all the area homeschool families get together and use their talents to teach groups of kids different subjects. Hopefully you might find something similar.

I would love to homeschool but my husband is the one standing in my way. I am sure it is scary and emotional right now for you and your family but hopefully those Disney learning trips during value season should make up for it for everyone. lol Let us know how it goes for you and the kids.

Ang

Well let me know for sure Linda so I can change my dates now and do the free dinning plan (which I have now) and we can talk about how we want to do it.

Bonzi Glad to hear you doing better but I am so sorry that the darn school is being such putzi about the whole thing. Tons of Pixie Dust coming your waypixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust:

bonzi why don't you drive with us to WDW in Sept. it will be so much fun.
Remember please put your dates down and let us know what date would be good for you to come to my Bachlorette Party  :dance3:

Has anyone heard from Timmy????? :confused3 :confused3 I have left her messages to call me but no return calls. :scared1:

Wic HI!!!!

Off to get my hair done
Ang. I hope things get better for you I understand how painful this must be for you and your family please call me just to talk if you need it. I have free nights and weekends I will call you back!!!!

Since this reunion will be happening during free dining, we'll have to be on top of our dinner reservations. I'd love to coordinate a couple of our evening meals with a few of you, if that's possible. Or maybe even breakfast at the Crystal Palace one morning. How about watching Wishes or Illuminations together? Is everyone planning to stay at POP again?

Man, there are always so many changes going on around here. Would not do for us to be stagnant any old way.:thumbsup2

Pooh, you go ahead and make your plans and if things work out with me I will work around them. There is no way that I am able to make any promises at this time. It is pretty much all I can do to drag myself out of bed and get through the day let alone think of doing anything more at this time. Hoping for changes though. :)

Ang, I feel the same way, pretty much most of the time, but have my weak moments when I would sorely love to sit on my bum and have someone bring me an iced tea while I sat in the shade of a tree that I did not have to plant, water and trim myself. I have to admit to being a control freak myself though and that does tend to make us the take charge type. I do not mind caring for the truly helpless but it is the hopeless that is getting me down. Did I tell you that my stepdaughter (nearly my age) has been calling because she has signed a contract to buy a new car and is depending on God to send her the money? When she says God she pretty much means anyone she can con into thinking they are giving her the money cause God wants them to. Two more weeks until it hits the fan.

Bonz, making lists, agendas, counting how many of what you need to pack, figuring what time you have to leave in order to arrive at your destination at the right time, meeting folks from different places and exchanging information, measuring how many steps around the WS, studying the animals in their unnatural habitats, etc. etc. Yes, DW is a learning experience but then I think most anything is if you approach it correctly. My heart goes out to you and yours cause you are going to be in for a world of stuff in such a small town and especially with your husband working for the school system. Of course you might be surprised at the amount of others who are unhappy with how the school is run and things might change for the better. The parents who feel thusly will be more likely to rock the boat than those who view school as a free babysitting service. :cheer2:

Mom2Evie, if I am able to be there when you all are I will volunteer to hold the parade seats. I am a professional at that. pirate: I am not much good at rollercoasters or racing around the parks though. I am also available to hold fussy children or to read to ones who want to listen. I have small talents but I like them. :rolleyes1

Yes lets do that!!!! Whenever is good with me. I love the Crystal Palace and wishes and okay lets do this lets start a list and times and see who want so go.

lets do a Crystal Palace in the A.M. one morning and a dinner somewhere also???

Anyone else up for it????'

if anyone wants we can do more that that too.

I sent my BFF this link & told her to subscribe. She might have input. The only thing we've said we wanted to do for sure is Coral Reef & Teppan Edo. I really like the idea of a breakfast buffet together. Boy, the characters would be at our table for a long, long time!
How big do you think this could be? How many of us are traveling with kids? I'll likely have my daughter with me, so we'd be +3. We'll have to pick one person to be in charge of each reservations. Come on people, a show of hands. Who wants to be the line leader? Since I'm not 100% sure that I'm coming, I don't think it should be me. I also don't think plans should be made around my schedule. That wouldn't be fair. I'll go with the flow.

Oh I would do both of them I love the Coral Reef and have wanted to try the Teppan EDO

We had Teppanyaki reservations last September, but of course the remodel wasn't completed. To make up for it, WDW made room for us at Coral Reef and reserved seating for Illuminations that night. I love hibachi and was really looking forward to Teppanyaki, but I'm so glad it didn't work out. I probably wouldn't have tried Coral Reef at all and I would have missed out. The food, service and atmosphere were just fantastic.

Now are all of you girls here going to stay at Pop? We didn't reserve rooms under the bounce back offer, so I'm waiting until the free dining offer comes around again. That should be around April 10th. The downside is that I heard free dining would only be offered with moderates & deluxes, no value resorts! That would suck. Not only would the moderate cost a few hundred dollars more, it would take me 30+ minutes to get from another resort to Pop!

I am suffering from a bad case of the 'IFs".

If a deal comes out, if the price is right, if I can find someone to ride down with me, if I am feeling well enough I will be there with bells on, IF.

IF it all comes about I will book POP so that I can be there in the thick of it with all of you crazy people. I regretted not being there last time.

We shall see IF.

Sorry not getting notified again:mad:
