The thread about which resort you avoid reminded me to ask this question.

Does Disney offer any connecting rooms that have a king in one and double in the other? I am asking about mods here, of course. It seems silly that they wouldn't, I think, and I also bet they are in relatively high demand, but I can't remember there ever being a discussion about it here.

If there are, does anyone have an idea which mod would have the most rooms and, therefore, up our chances of getting that connecting configuration? Has anyone tracked this info for any mod in particular or, hopefully!, all of them?

Thanks!

I really am not sure - but I thought I read somewhere that all the connecting rooms had 2 doubles at the mods.......

When we stayed at POFQ in February we had a King Bed Room and it was a connecting room. We were on the corner on the 1st floor in Bldg 4. I think the room that we connected to was a Double room as I believe there was a family of 4 in that room.

Yes you ca nbut its difficult to get. I just rang CRO and they got us a King bed connecting to double, they had to call guest services then the resort itself. King bed rooms are more $$s than standrd rooms.

Yes they do have them, but they are hard to get. We had two rooms reserved at POR (king and a standard and paid extra for the king room) and requested connecting rooms. When we checked in we got the Mansion section and our two rooms were connected. However, when we went into our room it had a funky smell and I didn't care for our room location. We went back to the registration desk and asked if it was possible to move our room and if we can go to the AB section and our room assigned smelt bad. The CM was really nice, but told us it is hard to get a king and a double connecting since those types of rooms are limited. She aksed if it would be okay if our rooms were a couple of doors down from each other. We said yes since my mom was sharing a room with our son.

We got a corner king room in the AB section and my mom and son were maybe 4 doors down from us. The adjourning room from us was only occupied for the first night. I was tempted to see if my mom and son could move into that room, but my mom didn't want to repack and move. Our king room didn't have a connecting door.

This trip we booked two doubles instead. My mom and sons are sharing one room and DH and I are in another room. I have a feeling our youngest, age 4, will be going back and forth from room to room (he wasn't with us during our last trip, adopted him last year). We booked it this was to make it easier to get connecting or adjourning rooms for this trip and if my youngest decided he has had enough of grandma and wants mommy instead.

We stayed at POR last February. We had adjoining rooms - one with a King bed and one with double beds. We had requested one room to have a handicap accesible bathroom since one of the friends traveling with us had a broken leg and could not use a regular shower.

Thanks, everyone! This gives me hope. Sounds like POR and POFQ are the only ones in this small sample ... any sightings in other mods?

Just wanted to give this one bump to see if anyone else had anything to share. :surfweb:
