Modern Family Question

At the end of the last season, Cam & Mitch were going to adopt a baby but that fell through. I kind of remember why. Now this season they are no longer planning on pursuing adoption and they adopted a kitty. I forget what happened that convinced them to drop it.

The placement fell through because his grandmother stepped forward to parent. Cam and Mitch decided that they couldn't handle the emotional rollercoaster of adoption, and that they needed to take a break. It's unclear whether they're stopping at one or taking some time to catch their breaths.

When they told Lily she wasn't getting a baby, she asked for a cat instead. So they got Larry, who is somewhat problematic (scrarching, shedding) but looks good in a mermaid costume.

It was Vietnam, and I think it was a flashback to when they were waiting for Lily.

Last night's show was really funny. I love when Gloria says, "You always love when I take you out of school to play hockey." and Manny says, "please don't ever take me out of school to play hockey."

Then she said something that was supposed to be about "buttering up the music teacher" but it came out as covering him with a stick of butter. I love Gloria!

Oh, and I loved the interaction with the lesbian Pam and Cam. That actress is really funny, she was on Rules of Engagement for a while. The stereotypes they were throwing in each others faces were hysterical. When Cam said they would meet at their house because she "probably had an unfinished woodworking project in their living room" and she shoots back with "oh great I can't wait to try your frittata."

I love the show, it's the only sitcom I watch. However, I've felt the new season's episodes have fallen a bit short.

Modern Family last night was the best. Laugh out loud funny. It is just is so smart and fresh. I love it!

This is probably one of those "you had to be there moments" but I about died laughing so I am going to share the story.

In class today my 7th graders were doing positive and negative square roots. I am up in front doing examples and just moving along with the lesson. I stopped to ask if they had questions and one of the kids says I know the square root of 64, and I am confused and say well you should! Another says I know the square root of a potato. It took me a minute and they all started to laugh at the look on my face I am sure. Someone says Modern Family - I saw the show but sure didn't put it together with the lesson until then!
