Hey, check the ticker!? :yay: Do you honestly think I'm going to let some random online trouble maker get me down? Not a chance! :dance3:

Ooooooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!! :cool1: I'm so excited for you!!! 25 days!!!!!

I dunno why, but I get so excited when people are like YAY about leaving for Disney. :lovestruc I guess because I know how it feels!

Don't forget about the "ignore" button in your CP. If someone is really being aggressive, ignore them. I think it will block PMs too, but I'm not sure.

The monitors do a great job.. Please remember they are not paid to be a monitor. They are here as a volunteer and at times may miss something.

I dont know when this happened but also know that the entire Dis community is reeling with the news that one of the founders of these board died yesterday unexpectedly and are currently trying to deal with this tragic loss. (See the podcast board for details).. it is very likely that a few things may be missed over the next few days.

They list the moderators names on the boards. If you get an insulting PM like the one above, forward it to one of the moderators of the forum that you were on where the problem started. They can then deal with it.

And no, I did not know about the triangle thing.
Christine

Pretty common feature on all boards. DIS is huge compared to other boards. The members need to notify mods... mods can't read every single post.
Off to the DVC boards I go........

Thanks for the suggestion! I will certainly do that!:thumbsup2

If you get harassing PM's the biggest thing we suggest is, as someone stated above, that you put that person on ignore. Then they will no longer be able to PM you. You can forward it to a moderator or webmaster, but there is not much we can do about private communications.

choirfarm, maybe you will consider sticking around and try using the report function if you need to. And I learned long ago when I was fairly new, to just leave the threads that offended or upset me. I still follow that to this day. There is so much here that you don't need to waste your time with the threads and people that are a problem. :)

renysmom, I hope you don't mind that I am borrowing your Bawb tribute. He was a wonderful and caring man and we are all mourning his loss. :sad1:

Well, that's the spirit!!! There really isn't a whole lot we can do about PM's. I would suggest letting a mod or WM know about any that get out of hand...not sure what can be done, but at least attention will be called to it. Otherwise, put those posters on ignore. That usually stops 'em, dead in their tracks.
But, I have to say....I found that PM you copied to be really offensive. I hate to think that a DIS person would say those things to another DISer. Incredibly mean spirited and nasty.
You know..everyone doesn't have to like the same things. or to feel the same way about stuff, but they do need to be civil to each other. Man, there is just too much crap in life to have that kind of attitude about someone on an internet board. If you choose not to agree with someone, why not just move on..why the need to be mean and nasty. So BamaFan, I'm really sorry you have had to put up with that. I can't do much more than sympathize with you.

No worries goofyfortink. Fortunately this southern, female Bama fan is an adult with tough skin and am not worried about such silly, trollish antics. Not even worth getting offended over. The words that person chose speak volumes about what kind of person they are--no sense in wasting time on someone like that.:rolleyes1

Did I mention I've got less than 4 WEEKS until I'm back in the world!?

:cool1: :yay: :dance3:

Since this thread is really not appropriate for this board I am moving it to the Community Board.

I am leaving this board. People here can be very rude and harsh. (Wee break in thread, multiple ADR thread, etc.) I guess most of the boards I am on are much better monitored because people would be banned for comments like these. Everyone is nice and respectful even if they disagree. I STRONGLY suggest you do this. There are several of us on other Disney boards that don't /aren't coming back. Just thought you should know.

Christine

Sorry you're being treated rudely, but is this consider a YAGE?

I will speak only for myself here.:flower3:

I am a co-moderator on the Cruise Forum, with other co-moderators.
We do the best we can EVERY day to ensure that the board is helpful, welcome, friendly to ALL posters.

Some of us do have every day jobs, and real life does exist. We do not wish for anyone to leave the DIS, and we are people with real feelings, just like every one of you. We smile, we laugh, and we sometimes hurt as well.:grouphug:

I do believe that each and every moderator on the DIS does everything in their power to ensure that the board they moderate runs efficiently for everyone.

As other moderators have mentioned, the report feature is there, and that is the most efficient way to deal with a problem. We get instant notification of a problem, and can rectify it..

I dont think so.... I would think a YAGE would really be a YAGE, not just a STRONG complaint. Or atleast mine would be....:rotfl2:

Buh-Bye! :wave2:

I dunno, is choirfarm going to see these replies? First, it was posted on another board anyway, and second, would seem to me she/he said goodbye. Which then begs the question, is there a point to a goodbye thread to begin with since you aren't sticking around to read the replies? Maybe it was a PSA? I'm a WEE bit confused.........that's for you dbeagle. ;)
