Moderate Resorts with Roll in shower

Can anyone tell me what size beds are in the Moderate Resorts with Roll in showers? We are 3 adults (my DD is 19) and she needs a roll in shower but we are nervous that there will only be a King siz bed. Any help is appreciated.

I've stayed in all the moderates except CBR so don't have any information there. You'll be fine although Port Orleans Riverside with two doubles had a bathroom that was a bit tiny- the sinks are on the outside with the roll in shower in a smaller area with the toilet. They had a sliding door which was helpful. ----Kathy

steffali when you book your room through the special needs department if the room only has a king bed you will the given the connecting room free. This is not only true at WDW but at all hotels. Many hotel managers will disagree but if you tell them to look up the ADA policy or call their corporate office they will cave and give it to you.

That's the only way you want to book it don't book it using the regular WDW reservations.

That's not what my TA is telling me. We have a party of 7 DH, me, our 4 kids, and my mother. 3 adults - 4 kids. DH needs a roll in shower and my TA said they didn't have any connecting double rooms w/ a roll-in shower so we have to have a roll-away in the King room and a connecting room w/ 2 dbls. I hate making my mom sleep in a rollaway or share a double bed w/ a kid. Technically, we are not getting the same thing an able-bodied person would get - 4 double beds. DH and I in one, 2 kids in one, 2 kids in one, and mom could have her own.

There were two doubles at Port Orleans, not a king. Actually you must now make your reservations through the regular WDW line. They will put you on hold and confirm the accessible accomodations for you. You are unable to speak directly with special services- I don't like it but lately is has worked out fine as when we've arrived at the resorts the room was perfect. For the family of 7, your TA is correct- there are no rooms with the double beds and a roll in shower that connect to another double bed room- only king bed rooms with a roll in shower that connect with double bed rooms, so with a party of three, you will be provided with a rollaway for the family in the king w/c accessible room. This is the same for a party of 3 in any of the king w/c accessible rooms- a rollaway is given for the third person. ---Kathy

Does anyone know if the rooms that sleep 5 are accessable? we can fit in a room for 5, but there would be no space for anything- just curious?

Thanks for answering this for me. I've been thinking about how to handle this and I've decided that mom is going to have to share a bed w/ a kid. I definitely know that DH would not want my mom in the same room w/ us. I have to help him get dressed, etc. and that would be very uncomfortable for him. The kids are used to it and actually help him when I'm not around, so that wouldn't be an issue.

We stayed in an accessible room for 5 once at the Beach Club and the Contemporary. I was told that the Poly accessible rooms also sleep 5 but haven't tried those out. The only ones that probably wouldn't have enough space would be in the Alligator Bayou section of POR with the trundle for the 5th person- with the trundle pulled out it would be a challenge to also maneuver a w/c. ---Kathy
