Were wondering is it worth the $600 extra dollars to go to WL over any of the moderates? I just dont know if I can justify $600 for a room were not going to spend that much time in anyway. Thanks in advance for any help!

We're doing a split stay with a mod (CSR) and WL. I think the cost is worth it to have the boat ride to MK...thats the biggest perk of most deluxes- being walking distance or a boat ride to the parks (except for AKL.) Its also nice for us to have a balcony since DS2 naps.

We had originally booked CSR, but when we moved dates CSR was unavailable. We upgraded to WL because our kids are older (DD13 and DS11)and don't sleep well together so we wanted the queen size beds. As a surprise we booked bunk beds. Had we not needed the queen size beds we would probably not have upgraded. That said WL looks gorgeous and I am very excited about our first stay here. I have stayed at POFQ and POR and have really enjoyed both.

as someone who just returned from wl, thats my vote! lol but i had the 40% pin code last fall that made it that much more alluring to me. i will tell you pics do not do it justice at all. i wasnt all that game for it, just happy to sty at a deluxe, i walked in and it was simply beautiful. this trip we were there for two weeks and took our weekends off to r and r, so we acutally spent a lot of time in our room. we had standard view, but lucked out with a view of the contemporary and wishes every nite. it was great to get back early from a park and watch fireworks from our balcony.

I would go with the Wilderness Lodge because as a Deluxe Resort they have more dining locations, transportation options, bigger rooms, more ammenities and a better overall location compared to the Moderate Resorts.

We have never stayed at the WL (it is one of two deluxes that we will never stay at). We have stayed at the CSR eight times (soon to be nine) and love everything about it including the queen beds, large hot tub, fitness center/spa, etc.

Obviously the theme is very different at both resorts and the WL is all inside as opposed to walking outside at the CSR.

I would look at the pictures of both resorts and see which theme appeals to you most and go from there. Personally, I could find a lot of things to do with that $600. ;)

The WL is great!!! My DS loves it....especially the pool area. We usually take full advantage of the pool area during our visits. Go to the parks early, then come back after lunch and spend a few hours at the hotel. I loved sitting on the beach at night and watching the Electric Water Pag...very cool. Theme of the WL is sooooo awesome. DH said if the WL was on the monorail line, we would stay there every time....it's his favorite hotel.

We have stayed at CBR, POFQ, and BCR and they each have their own appeal. PSOFQ remains our favorite moderate because of the theming, the size (smallest moderate) and it's the first bus stop! This year we will be staying at WLR and I am taking my great niece (5) and my cousin's granddaughter (6). I am looking forward to it because of the location and fun things to do in the area.

POR and POFQ both have boat service to DTD, a plus factor.

I completely understand the indecision. Last year I had a trip booked at the Poly with a Lagoon View Club Level and downgraded it to a standard room in POFQ and guess what we all had a blast. This year I keep changing my mind between moderate or deluxe.

The one thing that did it for me was I figured with the 'economy improving' (though I sometimes question that), there may not be these deep discounts of 40-45% in the future.

So because of the discount I will do the WL & Poly again.

I will have lots of future trips to stay at the moderates, but may not always have it in the budget to do deluxe.

We have stayed at the WL a few times and have always had a great trip there. It also feels so close to your room when you get off the bus and the boat ride is a very fun way to get to the Magic Kingdom.

I totally understand your viewpoint of why pay $600 more a room that you are only going to sleep in? So if that's the truth, you plan on not being at your resort much at all, I'd go with the moderates. However, if you are considering that you may want to spend more time at the resort than just sleeping (swimming, eating, break time in the room, etc), I'd go with the deluxe. IMHO the deluxe resorts have better pools, eating options, rooms, transporation, etc. I mean they have to b/c they're more expensive! So your choice really depends on which type of traveler you plan on being: 1) away from the resort all day or 2) some time at the resort to hang out.

We had this dilemma this year when we were deciding where to stay (3 adult women). We eventually decided to do a split stay between POP (7 nights) and AKL (2 nights). We love the parks and usually stay all day. So while we're at POP, we're going to be doing mostly park days. However, we also love swimming and having hang-out time at a nice resort, so that's what we'll end our trip with at the AKL. Not that POP isn't a nice resort, we'd just rather have more time at the AKL if we're going to be swimming/eating/relaxing.
