hi...We leave tomorrow for our first family Disney trip. :cheer2: My son (8) is a huge model train fan. Does anyone know if there is a store in Disney World that sells a Disney model train engine or cars?

Also, where is the best place to buy my 5yr old a princess or Minnie costume? They each got Disney dollars for Christmas and these top their wish lists:)

Thanks!!! Kelly

Tink's Treasures in MK has princess costumes as does the World of Disney at DtD. Not terribly sure about the trains but check the Once upon a Toy at DtD.

Have a great trip!

You must visit Germany in the World Showcase, which has an elaborate mountain scene with several trains running around the tracks. There are train and monorail sets available at several locations; ask Guest Services at the Parks or your resort.

Definitely go to Germany in Epcot.... that would be your best bet for collector trains. If he wants the WDW train set, that can be purchased at Once Upon A Toy in DTD. If you purchase it early in your trip and are staying on Disney Property, you can have it sent back to your resort, or if not, you can have it shipped home, so you won't have to carry it, or worry about packing it.

Don't forget to look for the Hidden Mickey in the outdoormodel train scene in Germany in World Showcase, Epcot.

I saw Disney princess dresses for sale at Target by the Barbie dress-up stuff. They were only $25.
There is also a new Target that opened on 192 in Kissimmee that has a Disney section with a selection of princess dresses if they don't have them in your hometown.

Drumflower-

I believe the monorail sells for about $60. I loved having it around our tree this year!! You will want to pick up some extra curved and straight tracks too about $10 per box.

Don't know if you're little guy would like this,
but I copied this from a Disney website,
(which one I can't recall) :

"Don't forget to stop by the Villas at the Wilderness Lodge
(during daylight hours only).
Its art and architecture tell of the pioneers who built and stayed
in late 19th century railroad hotels in the national parks region
of the American West.
Railroad enthusiasts will enjoy the Iron Spike Room,
a sitting room that features railroad memorabilia.
Featured here is a special exhibit on loan from the Disney family with two of Walt Disney's personal scale-model train cars and a piece of the original track."

We were at a Super Walmart this past weekend and they had a ton of Cinderella, Minnie Mouse and Snow White dresses --- they were for ages 3+ -- my guess is the biggest it would fit would be a 6x.
