Mobile Order @ Universal

Universal first-timer here. At Disney parks my family makes a habit of mobile ordering lunch first thing in the morning when we're in transit to the parks, to get that out of the way. Then we hit "prepare my order" several hours later when we're near the quick service location and ready to pick up our food. Can we do the same thing at Universal?

Universal first-timer here. At Disney parks my family makes a habit of mobile ordering lunch first thing in the morning when we're in transit to the parks, to get that out of the way. Then we hit "prepare my order" several hours later when we're near the quick service location and ready to pick up our food. Can we do the same thing at Universal?

I haven't tried ordering that much ahead so can't answer that part. I did do mobile order a couple of times, at 3 Broomsticks and Cafe La Bamba. Annoying thing about these places at Universal - you have to be seated and have a table number to get them to start making the order. At Cafe La Bamba, which was not crowded, this was not a problem. I walked right in and sat down. At 3 Broomsticks, there was a half hour wait to get in to get a table, so I had to stand in that line before I could be seated and tell them to make my food. I didn't try any strictly walk-up places so not sure how it works there. If you want to do the Harry Potter places I would recommend trying to eat at non-peak hours, like when it opens for the day or possibly mid-afternoon?

Mobile order is terrific at Louie’s. You can skip the line to grab a slice of pizza or order whole pizzas/meals as soon as you get a table instead of waiting in line. It works better there than most of the other restaurants because you can just walk up to the mobile order counter and grab a slice.

Mobile ordering is not USO forte, it works for some things like Voodoo donuts, but the having to sit down and get table number before is not that great.
