MNSSHP What Costume are You Wearing?

Awesome Costumes.

Your hubby might want to think about donning a bald cap. MNSSHP doesnt allow costumes with masks that dont show your face. Even though thats pretty darn cool.

Good luck!

After your reminder, dh shaved his head! rofl!! :rotfl:

Here are our pictures from this years Not So Scary Halloween. We went on September 15th. It was a blast with dh being Vader. Even the cast members were so excited over him. They kept saying "you should win a prize". And we had people looking for him all over the park. Cast members would tell us there are people looking for us. Some would find us and say that they have been chasing us all over the park. lol. Many people got pictures with dh. It was a hoot! And he was upset that he only got a few days to build the lower part of the helmet!

I have been wondering about something and hope it is ok to ask here. If you make an excellent costume of one of the Disney princesses do you have to worry about children mistaking you for a character performer? In a few years (when I am done with college) I hope to have the freedom to attend MNSSHP as Snow White and was worried about my costume being too authentic.

Dh was Vader this year (Sept 15) and was mistaken as a hired character many times. We always said he wasn't and it was fine. Many many people still wanted their pictures taken with him though. Several times people started to make a line and we had to start inching away. There was no way we were going to stand in one place as dh posed for pictures! :rotfl: But there were no problems being mistaken for a Disney character (for us).

Last year we looked so genuine that we got asked for autographs and pics with kids! Disney staff ruined the magic and asked us to stop taking pictures with people (can you believe that!)
It was so fun...can't wait till this year!

Wow they actually asked you to stop taking pictures with people? People just kept asking dh for pictures and he'd say ok. Cast members everywhere saw it and just kept saying "great costume"! How strange that they would try to govern who is allowed to be in pictures with whom.... I'm glad we didn't have that problem.

I just re-read and maybe it was the autographing that got them upset. Dh didn't autograph anything and always said he was just some guying at MNSSHP just like everyone else...

Have a blast this year. I wish we could go back! :(

Sunny -
Thanks so much for posting your pictures! What a fun family - I love your Halloween *spirit*!
We are going for our first MNSSHP on Oct20 - DS6 will be Davy Jones, DS10 undecided - most likely a pirate, and I am still trying to think of something easy and cool to wear for myself and DH! :confused3
We may do easy big-people pirates, or just fun Halloween t-shirts!
Thanks again for the photos!

My DS 3 will be sorcerer mickey the costume is from Disneyland. and he has a light up mickey head on a wand he is taking. I will be Mrs. Potts from the Disney store. everyone always ask if I am pregnant and trying to hide it I just tell them no I've just put on weight but thanks for pointing it out. lol :rotfl: DH will have a shirt on that says this is my costume.

This is basically a question for anyone who has gone on any coasters in costume. My costume has a wig to it and I know space, thunder, and splash mountains aren't exactly the fastest coasters around (although splash isn't exactly a coaster...but we won't get into semantics here :p ). Is there much of a threat that it might fly off or is there something I can do to make sure that it won't? Thanks in advance!

I haven't worn a wig at MNSSHP but my only advice would be to hold on tight to the wig!! :rotfl:

I wore a wig last year....you'll want to remove it for the rides, or else keep your hand plastered to your head to hold it on! ;) I actually ended up taking off my wig after about a hour, because I was just too hot!

Have a great time!

Here's mine so far. I found some brown crop pants and a summer shirt on clearance and my friend made the vest. I have the Elizabeth Swann medallion necklace (the gold coins from the pirate treasure). I have a head scarf too now and some other jewelry.

This is what we wore on 9/15. There were a lot of pirates!

My older two are in my signature. DH, me and the baby didn't dress up. Anyone see us on 9/15? It was fun!

We'll be there Halloween night! DS1 will be Jack Skellington, DS2 - the Mayor from NBC and I'll be Oogie Boogie....LOL.
We're putting the costumes in a locker and then putting them on once the party gets going and in case they are too hot, I hope to get some of the nice tee-shirts to wear.

This will be our first MNSSHP and we are so excited! :Pinkbounc

My DD10 is going to be Tinker Bell. We ordered her the costume crown and wand that lights up and twinkles from Disney Online Shopping and we got it last week. We couldn't find the shoes she wanted because her foot is bigger than what they offer. She has a pair of crocs that are the same color of green as tinks dress. I think that will probably work out just as good as probably be more comfortable.MNSSHP Oct. 5th yeahhhhhh :tinker: :hmghost: :tink: :maleficen

My 4 yo DS is going to be Mario and my 9 yo DD will be Princess Peach. We were all going to go as characters but anything other than Luigi required too much costuming. I really didn't want to be Toadette Sooooo...

DH is going to be the muddy footed pirate from POTC and I will be his auctioned off wench. ;) I'm thinking about putting a sign around his neck that says "I wanted the red head". :teeth:

...Did you make the Princess Peach yourself? My DD6 loves OPrincess Peach! LOL I'd love to see pics if you get any. Hacve fun!

...We will be at the 9/22 party. I will be relish and DD6 will be ketchup. LOL

I found a pink princess dress that looked exactly like Peach's dress. I just added the hot pink scalloped portion to the bottom and hot pink trim around the sleeves and waist.

I bought a large bright blue flat back stone and trimmed it in gold to make her brooch. I bought small bright blue flat back stones for her earrings (I hot glued clip on earring hardware to the back). I made the crown out of yellow foam and glued the jewels on. Bought the hoop skirt and a wig. I just need to get the white gloves and she'll be complete! It looks really cute!
