I was checking on times on the Disney Website today and I noticed that the MK is open on MNSSHP nights until 7. If MNSSHP starts at 7 ...the park won't close. How do they do all the transformations with the park open?
How will they get guests without tickets out of the park?

Just seems odd, but I've never been to MNSSHP, so maybe it will make sense to some of you MNSSHP vets... :confused3

My opinion is that its a mistake on the Disney website.

We'll know by September 15th though whether its a mistake or if they're doing something new this year.

Hmm...I wonder??

It did used to say open till 6, so they've changed it. We're going to the one on October 5, so at least we can find out how it's working before we go down.

This is based on our experience with MVMCP, not MNSSHP, by the way.

Starting in late afternoon, there will be CMs all over the place with wristbands. They will issue them to people already in the park with their party tickets as well as give them out at the turnstiles from around 4:30 on.

There will be CMs at each of the rides checking the wristbands. Anyone not wearing a wristband won't be allowed on to any of the rides after 7:00 and will generally be herded out of the park.

It would be rather easy to treat this event like an evening EMH.
(And the other "special invited guest" events that they have throughout the year... like the cheerleader parties.)

Issue wrist-bands to those with MNSSHP tix, and anyone w/o a band would not get to ride or participate in the other activities.

I see that there could be some who'd stay for the parade that way however.

Aren't there things like parades and other shows? How would they prevent people from watching them without physically escorting them out of the park.

I've never been to MNSSHP but I do plan on visiting MVMCP this year for the first time. The smaller lines for tge rides is ok but really I'm there for the parade and shows.

Could anyone stay for the MVMCP parade and fireworks, with or without the wristband?
It seems hard to manage and different then EMH, because the fireworks and parade are special events of the hard ticket party.
I agree with Bill Sears...I'm not paying to go and ride the rides so much as enjoy the theming, parade and fireworks and character interaction.
I'm putting my faith in Disney though, that there is a plan in mind!!

Gawrsh.... I don't reckon I'd like that too much if I have to protect my spot for the MNSSHP parade from someone who does have the wristband. Hope Disney can hustle them on out

There was a thread on this not too long ago that said the 7pm listing was incorrect. Disney was changing to a new computer system, and it will only project times for 3 months in advance. Anything beyond that, and it sort of just puts numbers in to "fill up the slots" if that makes sense. Nobody has changed them on any of the sites that I visit yet, so I'm watching and waiting to see if this is true.

DH and I went to MNSSHP last year and I was surprised at all the people still inside without wristbands. They were not allowed to go on rides, but they also didn't get escorted out, so I'm not sure how it actually works. Basically, to me it seemed that if you didn't want to go on any rides, but wanted to linger in the shops or watch the parade you wouldn't be harrassed. I kept seeing this same family throughout the evening, so I know they didn't get escorted out. I would think that if anyone tried to enter after MNSSHP started they wouldn't be allowed in without a wristband, but for those who were there beforehand it didn't seem to be a problem. :confused3

Just an FYI...

When you enter for the party after 7:00p, they stopped doing the wristbands. At least that's how it was a couple of years ago.

The wristband were to differenciate the non-party guests from the party guests but only for the time before 7:00p.

Of course, this could have changed since last year.

I always go in before 7:00p now so I always have a wristband but I did go after 7:00p in 2000 and no wristband.

Just a thought I'd throw out there.

I still think the hours are a mistake. I also think the CMs do a pretty good job of clearing out the park. They do the best they can in one hour.

When we were still in the park near the start of MVMCP on a night we weren't attending we were treated like the great unwashed: CMs all along Main Street were shouting for every one without a wristband to "stay to the left and exit", pointing and looking like we were taking advantage of the air by not running out, even though there were 20 more minutes before "close."

For shows, you still have CMs able to ask people to leave without the wristband. For the parade, I guess if you are crafty enough and wearing long sleeves, you might get to stay and watch, but it if it clear you don't have the wristband, likely anyone who wants to report them will get a CM to ask them to leave.

Normally how MNSSHP worked was that those who had tickets for the party were given wrist bands and those that didn't were asked to leave at 6pm. The CM's would round up people and herd them out and those with wrist bands went to one section of the park that was still operating. The other areas of the park were closed down. The hour of 6-7pm was used to get the decorations up for the party. Then close to 7 the other sections of teh park started operating again. I sure would hope that those that didn't pay for the special tickets weren't allowed to stay.

Either Disney has something planned differently this year or like others have said the 7pm time is wrong.

We were there for MVMCP (not MNSSHP) last year, and everyone attending the party was herded into Liberty Square/Frontierland. You had to show your wristband to enter the area. Everyone else was steered toward Main Street and the exit. The park closed at 6 and the party started at 7; however, if you were attending the party, you could do things in Frontierland, like Splash and Thunder Mountain, until the rest of the park opened again at 7. Maybe the Halloween party officially starts at 8?

Nope the Halloween party and MVMCP both start at 7pm. But the MK is listed as being open till 7pm for both MNSSHP and also for MVMCP so everyone is wondering if this is a misprint as far as the park hours or Disney has some other plan.

I'm also hoping this is a misprint - they have the same thing posted for MVMCP dates - only they still have Wishes listed at 6 PM on the party nights. I don't think there has ever been a night (not even the busiest) where they have run two fireworks in one night - I doubt it's even possible - so knowing that that is a misprint, I think they will update the park closing to 6 PM.
I will think twice about the night time parties if the first hour of the party will be a combination of them trying to herd the day guests out as the evening guests arrive. We go in early and eat from 6 - 7 (or ride a few rides in the 'holding area') -- love walking out just before 7 as the party starts and heading into the near empty park areas (those that weren't used to hold the early party-goers while they set up). :smooth:

Someone on Mouseplanet called Disney. It is a misprint. The park closes at 6 for the party as usual.

(Also, at one point the Disney site showed fireworks at 7. Those aren't happening either)
