MNSSHP - Here's What Happens!

I'll be sure to post some pics and info when we go on Tues. I think there are several people here going that day, so maybe we'll have some more info and pics! :maleficen I am taking my laptop so I'll post when I can!

:hmghost: *boo to you and you and you!* :hmghost:

That is a great costume idea! I still can't totally decide what to go as...I have an amazing Hogwarts robe that I can wear, but its long and I don't want it to get caught, so I'm looking for another option.

I don't know about you, but I have the full Hogwarts costume/robe, and mine is HOT. It's even made with very thin material, but it's still very warm. I just figured if yours was like mine, it would probably be extremely uncomfortable. I could barely stand to wear mine in Borders and Barnes and Noble for book releases much less trek around the Magic Kingdom in it.

Can anyone confirm or deny that the Princes are in the tent with the Princesses this year? I read on one thread they were ... and don't want to wait in line to find out they aren't.

We were there on 9/16 and we found Aurora with Prince Phillip and Cinderella with Prince Charming in the judges tent. The wait was relatively short compared to other characters that night.

We went on the 19th and had a TOTAL blast! No rain, low crowds! The only issue we had was that it was too hot for my son's Capt Jack costume, so we bought some Disney Halloween Ts at the park to wear. Half the crowd was in costume, the rest in regular clothes.

We arrived around 7:30 and got wristbands. We were quickly adopted by the woman we now call "Disney Mom" who told us to grab seats right at the curb at the beginning of Main Street. They were great seats. It took a while for the parade to get to us, but that was fine. We had a fantastic view!

We skipped the Villain show, since we had seen it last year. We were able to walk on every ride, not even getting off some of them! We stayed on Flying Carpets 3x in a row and watched the fireworks from there.

The characters were great, lines werent bad at all. We met Rafiki, Tarzan, Jane, Terk, Abu, Genie, Mr Walrus, Mad Hatter and more. They really took a lot of time with my son, some even personalizing his autograph book without us ever asking!

Candy was very plentiful and varied, from Oh Henry and Clark bars to M&M's, twizzlers, york, lollipops, snickers, twix, 3 Musketeers, Milky Way, starburst, sweet tarts and lots more. On the way out they gave Ghiradelli squares, dark with caramel filling. Not like last year where they gave us about 10 full size bags of Kissables each! 1 per person this year, except for my son who got 2. It pays to be cute!

All in all, a GREAT time. The weather and low crowds really made it perfect.

OOOOH I really really want to go!! :goodvibes
Not sure if we will make it though since this is a "bonus" trip as DH will be in Orlando for a conference and we are tagging along.

Here's my question...We won't really know if we will be able to go until the day before (10/20 for the 10/21 party). If we buy a ticket 1 day early, do we get advance purchase ticket price? (assuming of course that it's not sold out).

If we don't get to go this trip, we will definitely go on our next October trip in 2010!!

Since I am going to the 10/31 edition of MNSSHP, and I LOVE these photos, I would love some insight.....

What camera took these, and what settings did you use?

All info is GREATLY appreciated!

Thanks...

I hate to be a pain, but I am a super-planner. Where were the characters specifically? I would love to know, specifically Tarzan and Abu (I am guessing carpets for Abu)...and did you see the 7 dwarfs?

Oh my goodness!!! I was kind of lukewarm about attending MNSSHP because of the pricing, but I went ahead and bought the tickets. We're going this Sunday, and after seeing these pictures and reading the posts, I can hardly wait! We've never been, and it looks spectacular (and it helps that Halloween is my favorite holiday.) I'm dressing up as Belle, and my husband is going to be Charlie Brown (I know, totally unrelated, but he really looks like Charlie Brown although I won't claim to really look like Belle.) In any case, I'll post some pics here when we return. Thank you all for the great info and the wonderful pictures. I am so excited now!!:goodvibes

My tickets for Oct 19 came today! With over 30 trips to WDW under our belts, this is our first MNSSHP. And it was DH's idea! Cant wait!

Great pictures psimon!!! Just a little bit over a month to go.....Oct 30th!!! :woohoo:

Thanks... but they aren't mine. :confused3 Those were in a quote I made from MNWDWMANIAC. They get the credit, not me! I wish I could get photos like that. That is why I am trying to find out camera and camera settings to do that myself!

Touring plans...
I will be travelling with my husband, 6 kids ages 2-9, and my mother. Yes, I am crazy and yes I have lost my mind thanks for asking. Anywho, We plan on arriving around 4 or 5 and staying as late as they will let me.

Can we pick up the bags immediately or do we have to wait until 7?

When do they start handing out candy?

Are there any touring plans that will maximize our time in the parks? Our priorities are autographs, trick or treating, parade, fireworks, with rides being at the bottom of the list.

Which parade to watch? Which villian show to watch?

Where are the best viewing spots for fireworks?

Yikes! So much to plan and so little time :scared1:

Nothing to fancy :)

I used a Panasonic Luminx. And to be honest... I just messed with some of the firework and star tracking settings. I also have my small tripod and gorilla pod that work out beautifully. For every great shot there are 3 so so pictures. But the great ones made it all worth while.

:wizard:

I'm looking forward to this year because we got a new HG10 HIGH Def camera :D

Queenofhartz--We'll be there too!!! I will be as a Mickey fan and DD17 and her two BFFs will be in camo. :scared1: I can't wait!!! We weren't going to do this party, but all the great stuff on this thread got me pumped up and I just made reservations anyway!!!

What an awesome thread! Thanks for starting it. My sister and I are going to the 10/13 party, and can't wait!!

That will be a really cute costume. I'll be looking for you, my group of 8 will be there on the 13th too. We will be the Flintstones and Rubbles. Only 2 of the 8 have been to the party. It is going to be soooooooo much fun.

I'm not sure about a costume...
I have a Minnie Mouse costume from a few years ago, but I was thinking of maybe being a pirate this year. Only problem is that all of the adult female pirate costumes I've seen are either $80+ or look like a tramp with an eye-patch. And I do not have a crafty gene in my body so making something is out of the question.
I can't believe I'm 40 years old and worrying about my Halloween costume. :rotfl2: Yet another reason to love Disney!

I am planning to go as a pirate too! DS and I are both going as pirates. I thought it would be a good way to go, considering the heat. I'm not very crafty either, and I'm right there with you on avoiding the trampier costumes.

I found a simple black corset-looking thing for my waist on ebay, and I am putting it with a long pirate-looking skirt (that I already had) and a white pirate-styled shirt. (There's a woman on ebay that makes and sells the complete pirate costumes too - pirate shirt, long skirt, corset - they look amazing!)

Both DS and I are also wearing Mickey pirate ears (also found on ebay).

I'm not much younger that 40 myself, and I am pretty psyched about this party. I think it'll be fun to dress up, but I think it will be even more fun to trick-or-treat! :goodvibes

Hi Everyone!!

We went to the party on 9-16, so I thought I'd add a few pics. Hope you enjoy!
