HI everyone! this is my family's first party and im sooo excited! we are going as the "5 dwarfs". so I need some help with scheduling my timeline.... so here it goes -- my son really wanted to eat at CP -- and this was the only time in my trip I could fit it so we are giving up time to eat there....

arrive to be in a 4
pick a FP for 4-5? maybe 1 other ride
dinner at CP at 5:05
try for a FP at 7DMD FP at 5:30 - 6:30
then get in line to meet the dwarfs
then mostly rides and trick or treating
do the later parade I think its at 10:30?
then probably leave unless kids want to go back in and ride a few more rides (any suggestions for best parade viewing?)

what do u think? will be me and hubby and 3 boys 12, 8 and 4

any tips would be helpful -- thanks!

You would actually need to be getting in line for the dwarfs M&G at the time you're planning to get the FP for SDMT so that you aren't spending too much party time waiting for the M&G, so you should make SDMT your first FP for the 4-7 time frame.

I think you have some problems. First CP can easily be an hour and a half meal. That would not put you out until 6:30 which means you would miss your FP+. You won't necessarily be seated right at your reservation time- it is pretty common not to get seated there until about 15 minutes after your ADR time. A lot of people will try to book an early dinner at CP to be done well before the party. CP is a buffet, so if you don't mind getting up and leaving before all the characters make it to you, you probably could eat quickly and then book it over to 7DMD, but that is going to be tight.

If you want to see the dwarfs without waiting in line for over an hour of party time which you paid extra for, you typically want to be in line for them by around 6 or really a little earlier. Their line is huge. Last year we did not do MVMCP, but we did do MNSSHP. We put Jack and Sally as our top priority. We got in line for them around 5:30 p.m. Last year, they were actually coming out early at 6:00 p.m. (had to have a party bracelet to be in the line), which I guess was to try to keep the lines down a little, and we were done by about 6:10. We thought maybe we could get in line to see the dwarfs since it was still well before the party and ran over there to check, but that line was absolutely huge. It looked like it would be at least an hour and a half long once they came out.

The later parade is a great idea if your 4 and 8 year old are high energy enough to stay up for it. It is much less crowded than the early parade. My DD (9) has always been a night owl, so we have done the late parade at parties more than once.

That would be a much better plan. I think you could start your 7DMT FP+ anytime between 4 and 4:30, and as long as you are in line when the FP+ time starts ,you should have no trouble getting to CP by 5:05. Just FYI- the Mickey heads will start scanning green 5 minutes before your FP+ actual time. We tested that several times during our last trip.

With your revised plan, if necessary, one of you can eat fairly quickly and leave CP and head for the dwarfs line. It is pretty typical for the character lines that start over an hour in advance for the party someone to hold the place for a little bit while other family members go in and out. It would not be polite to do that the whole wait, but everyone around you will likely understand if that happens for the 1st few minutes because the rest of the family got held up at dinner.

also what is a good spot to view the parade -- any suggestions -- hoping to catch the second parade and then maybe 1 trick or treat trail before heading out -- any good spots located near a trick or treat trail? maybe I could hold parade spot and hubby could take boys trick or treating before parade? how early do u suggest trying to get a good spot to view the parade?...maybe 30 minutes? thanks for all the great help!

If you're going for the second parade, I'd line up for the Dwarfs during the first. We've always done that and have waited no more than 35 minutes to meet them.

I believe the second parade is at 11:15 this year. Not sure if that will be too late for you.

oh I hadn't heard that time on the second parade -- anyone else hear that -- from everything I see it still shows a 10:30 time? yeah 11:15 might be a little late for our little ones

aww what a bummer -- not sure if the kids can stay up late enough to see the second parade…. well ill say this does anyone have a good tip for the best place to watch the second parade and then make a QUICK escape after??
