MNSSHP HalloWishes Dessert Party - Post tips, helpful hints, and chit chat

I am in the group who DOES prefer to see the fireworks from the center at Main Street and have been wondering if its possible to eat the desserts and then go get s spot for the fireworks thats better.

I think this would be almost impossible depending on the crowd levels. They don't let people in until 9:30 to the Dessert Party. If you were one of the first few in line, it might be possible. Otherwise you'd probably be looking for a spot on Main Street/in the Hub right as the fireworks were starting.

We have a toddler who will likely pass out mid-parade, and hubs cannot handle waiting in crowds for much more than 20 minutes. Since things like the second parade and only waiting 40 minutes in Frontierland do not work for is, I'm thrilled to shill out for some elbow room. The desserts are a bonus.

It's possible but you'd be paying $70 for sub-par desserts and losing the value of a reserved, uncrowded, seated viewing area. If you want to see them from, the center, I'd buy my own dessert and stake out a spot.

Just to clarify the entire check in process: we will be in MK all day and will walk over to a 5 PM reservation at the Wave. I was thinking we'd get our party wrist bands and check in for the dessert party before we eat and am wondering what is the most efficient way/place. Is getting our wrist band separate from dessert party check in?

Did anyone go to the party Friday?

I'm kind of disappointed that the candy given to guests is in those generic skull mugs, I wish they were giving out the Poison Apple specialty mugs instead. That would make it seem more worth it, but whatever.

Hello everyone! We are going on October 6th and I am so excited after reading the reviews. I do have a question though. The check in time for the parade is 7:30 on the Disney website, however some of the people who commented said they didn't show up until after 8 for the parade. Do you have to be there at 7:30 or can you show up right before is starts?

We will also be at the party on the 6th and it is our first time. For what it is worth, a Disney CM called me a couple of weeks ago to make sure I understood that I needed tickets to the party in addition to the dessert party tickets, so I took the opportunity to ask some questions about the check in / parade viewing area. She did confirm that CMs would be at the flag pole area between 7 - 7:30 for check in and you could stay, leave and come back before the parade or just go straight to the dessert party. Now of course they may continue to change and refine but just wanted to let you know what she told me. Thanks and see you at the party!

I'm going to be cancelling the dessert party for a group of 3 people on Friday 10/2 in the next few days. I'm not sure how easy it would be to coordinate if someone wants to try for it, but PM me if you're interested.

Thank you! See you there!

We went on the 22nd. I have nothing really to compare it to since this was our first MNSSHP, but I am SO GLAD we had the dessert party! The reserved viewing for the parade was such a blessing. There was plenty of room to spread out and even empty rope space. For the first and second parade, people were 2-4 deep everywhere else. The party itself was well organized and ran smoothly. We even had the hiccough of food allergies. There was plenty of space at the railing to watch the fireworks. We had lots of time after the party to do the trick or treat lines and ride several rides. If anyone has a specific question, I'll do my best to answer!

Thanks for sharing. What time did you check into the parade viewing area?

We checked in at about 8:15, but people were still checking in at 8:30.

And what time did the parade actually reach you? Does the headless horseman come way before the parade That is what I heard. Thanks again.

The Headless Horseman was about 10 minutes before the parade. It may have been longer, but they had a Phineas and Ferb dance party between the HH and the parade that made the time seem much shorter. Plus there were so many CM's right where we were standing that were pin trading with my DD that it went super fast.

Were there curbside seats left at 8:15? I need just 2. My husband and mom can sit behind us, but really want a curbside spot for my 4.5 year old!
There was empty rope, and we were so spread out that my DD's empty wheelchair even had a curb view. :lmao:

So do you know about what time the HH went by? Just wondering what time the parade actually comes by and we want to make sure to see HH
