MNSSHP 2015 - Be Prepared For Chaos

LOL at "sea of thieves". I really think people on this board are once again trying to see things through their Disney colored glasses. People hanging out in the park without tickets is NOT as big a problem as you think it is. Sort of like the free ticket for bloggers thing. The simple problem is Disney sells way too many tickets to this and then understaffs the event with not well trained staff to try and optimize it's profits for the shareholders. It's all about the money with Iger and I'm sure he was totally pleased with the results from the first party.

Think you miss the point .. Its more about why pay the extra $$ when there are others there getting the same extras as me without paying.. KTP reported seeng a lot with no party bands. That just isnt right..

Every year it's the same complaint. I just don't think there are thousands of people staying in the parks without tickets.

Well at least at this one Kenny said they were lining the parade route meeting characters and getting candy.. Not good

:mad::headache::furious:

Hmmmm.......where have I heard this before? Oh, thats right, people in this thread talking about Tuesday night's party!!!!

*SIGH* I'm just disappointed because it isn't like this is their first time doing this. They do this every year, multiple days per week. They know what is up, and yet, they continue to drop the ball.

Also, for what it is worth, someone in another thread reported e-mailing WDW about the number of non-ticketed, (no-wristband) people still in the park during party time. The response from WDW was that they do keep non-wristband wearing people off of rides and out of attractions.

I might not buy a ticket. Why should I bother, when apparently I can enjoy the parade, the stage show, get my photopass pics, and get some candy for free?

Maybe because two wrongs don't make a right? I under stand the frustration, but that doesn't mean you should do the wrong thing knowing it's wrong.

If that was the response from Disney to my email, I would have responded back that the shows, parade, and other party only events are the reason you bought the ticket in the first place. You can ride the rides during regular park hours. They seriously can not be that dumb, can they?

that is the thing, from a customer stand point it stinks. Too crowded, hard to enjoy the parade, long candy lines etc. But from a business point of view its fantastic. Money money money. No mater what people think, Disney is in the business to make money. They want the parks filled to capacity, hotels filled, restaurants booked solid etc. and they will do whatever they can to accomplish that i.e. parties, discounts, free dining etc.

It doesn't have to be thousands to make it wrong and something that Disney should enforce. We paid extra money to go to the party, to have the privilege to see the special Halloween shoes, parade, characters that are not normally out for photos, etc. If it was just for the possibility of shorter ride lines, I for one wouldn't be paying extra for that alone and I don't thing there are many that would.

I don't think it benefits them to tick people off and think of it as more money. The longer I have to stand in a line to see characters, the earlier I have to scope out a spot for the parade or show, the longer it takes to trick or treat, the less time I have to SPEND MY MONEY! If I'm stuck in a line or viewing spot because they allowed more people in than they should have they aren't making money on me buying stuff in the stores or food for that matter. They need to decide if they want to chance making a customer mad and not sell more tickets, etc the next time also.

Pre Party, sure
scheduled private meet with Tiana, no. I watched it live. I saw several people in front of him in line

ETA I was watching FloridaPlunge's periscope. He got in line for Tiana AFTER the stage show and after the parade, so the Tiana meet was not part of the pre-party. It was later in the evening.
This preparty consisted of a photo op with the blow up orange bird, speeches by the blog team and some people involved with imagineering the Hocus show, a costume contest, and a goodie bag. Nice to see at least 2 other people were paying attention.

And this was not media night, thats tonight, the bloggers are already starting to post about it, as well as the Sentinel. Getting that free ticket is not as hard as you would think either...

How does Disney handle closing the parks for special events like Night of Joy?
Before the current 4-7 mix in SOP, they did hard close the Kingdom when I went in the early 2000s and it was a mess, the lines were crazy with 10,000 people trying the enter at once. NOJ is a mix in. Grad Nites were hard closes, back when they still did them. But that made sense as the buses arrived staggered from the various schools.

On the other hand, the big draws this year are the stage show and parade, they should be checking the parade route - that surprises me greatly.

I don't believe I ever made a comment trying to justify people staying without a ticket. My simple point is that those extra people (blog people and people staying in the park after close) are not the reason it was madhouse that night.

IMHO it added to it..
Every year there are MNSSHPs that are crowded and every year people blame it on non-ticket holders. Doesn't matter if it's the first one of they year like this or a random one in the middle of Oct. Disney selling more tickets to the party has more of an effect, especially since people tend to gravitate to Main Street and the Hub during the party.

ok fair enough....given the over crowding of what Disney bills as a limited event and lax enforcement of non paying attendess, I'd be asking for a refund.

It may not be the ONLY reason, but they are certainly factors of the reason. When all of the smaller factors are added together, it makes a big impact.

For someone who has been or is going tonight...... were the FP Wishing viewing areas open to the public?

Disney no longer markets it a a limited ticket event.
Couple of years ago I was one of those people who didn't get out of the park until 8pm on a party night. We had walked into Monsters Inc. at around 6:55 (park still open legally), so by the time we got out it was 7:30. We then headed for the exit, but it took us forever to get to it. Just imagine if you got into 7DMT line right at 6:55, you might not get out of the attraction until almost 8. And on the flip side of thing, how upset would you be if they enforced the 7pm start time? It is possible that people who do not have a day ticket are entering at 4.
