MNSSHP 2014 Official Thread

we found the Villain's Dance Party a lot of fun...great interaction. (prob because I love the step sister and they were there) we did both the one at the Diamond Horseshoe saloon and then the Monster's Inc one in Tomorrowland. We chose those over the Villains Stage show since the mingle part was removed. We did the fireworks and then 2nd parade and it worked out quite well. We had time to run and do HM in between and had a great front row seat on the curve of the hub on the Tomorrowland side at the bridge....made for great pics as the castle is the backdrop in the phots..esp the Headless Horseman ones. We attended the first party and attendance was low so that helped a lot, but I think you will have a great time , we wished we had at least 3 more hours! It was our favorite part of our trip so having it on your last night should be a fab send off!:thumbsup2

So there's a Villian's Dance party and a Villian's stage show? My DD loves dancing but my DS is the opposite and don't want him to be grumpy. What do they do at the stage show?

Would love to be able to make the second parade because of crowds but don't think our little ones will last.

I am hoping this is the right place to post my dumb question. Regarding the magic shots they do in front of haunted mansion, etc., do you have to purchase the photo in the park for the effect? Or are you able to purchase later through photopass online? I need a picture with the hitchhiking ghosts for my life to be complete :goodvibes

I have somehow always missed magic shots, but I want to try them this trip. I will be doing the late soiree though, so rather than shopping and going to the photo shop for the last half hour, I will be at the castle and don't want to spend prime party time getting pictures printed. Thanks in advance!!

My experience may be unique, but I wish I had checked my pictures before I left the party (assuming that's possible), as my pictures with the hitchhiking ghosts were either minus a ghost or a significant part of a ghost.

The stage show is the Villains Mix and Mingle (only now they do not mingle afterwards with the crowd) you can see it here:

I don't know if it's possible, but it's not necessary because you can contact PhotoPass if you find that the magic is missing in the magic shots (you can also do this if pictures are missing altogether).

Could someone tell me what magic shots they are having this year and where they are?

Thanks!!! Going 10/26!!!

It's not necessarily unnecessary...(say that three times fast!). Almost every time I've had "list" pics, they've found them later. BUT the one time they had a system issue and lost them completely (not just mine--lots of folks') was at the SWW Chewie M&G. I had DH take some with my camera too, but that doesn't work for the magic shots. And if it's something you REALLY want, it wouldn't hurt to check before you leave the park, in time to do a do-over if you really want it!

We are attending the party on Halloween and we are so excited. This is our first time going. My DD really wanted to meet Maleficiant but she knows that is not going to happen. She even made her own Aurora costume since Disney originally announced Maelficiant would be meeting with Aurora. Luckily, I have a great kid and when I explanined to her that the only way to meet Maleficant was to spend another $99 per person, she said it wasn't worth the money. :goodvibes

So now she wants to attend the Villians Dance Party and hopes she can at least meet Curella Di'Ville (her other favortie Villian).

We are also attending the MVMCP as well for the first time. So even though we can't meet Maleficiant we feel very blessed to be able to experience both parties in one week.

Hello everyone.
I will be at Disney World the last week of October and am trying to decide which nights to go to the party. Since every party that week is probably going to be sold out, it really doesn't matter if I pick a weekend or not, right?

Hi!

Has anyone been to MNSSHP this year that can tell me if it's possible to see Maleficent and where? I have a 4 yr. old who is in love with her! I saw online that she might be with Aurora at Fairytale Hall & I also heard that is no longer true. I know she's at the castle for the desert party, but I was wondering if there was anywhere else. I would really appreciate any info! Thanks!

:welcome:

Unfortunately, the soiree during MNSSHP is the only place she can be found.

The interaction we had with Cruella was beyond fabulous! She was a highlight of MNSSHP for us. She was dancing, talking, full character mode for the entire time, and with everyone! I think as far as one on one actual interaction goes she is more animated and fun than Mal (and I am a HUGE Mal fan) I'm not exaggerating, she was so quick with the one liners and "spot" on (:lmao:)We were the Seagulls from Nemo and our hats were slightly fuzzy..Cruella was having fun with how similar to puppy fur they were and have we seen any about etc. She also went on about how feathers can be just as wonderful to wear as fur..so you get how she improvises. She was dancing with everyone and really commanding the room. The only thing that topped the Cruella interaction for us at the dance party were the Tre'Maines , who I have been after meeting for years. The room is very dark (blue lighting) and lots if smoke/fog so have your camera set for that lighting or have the CM get a shot or 2 of your family. OMG, the more I remember back Cruella was a hoot! Have your DD bring a picture of a dalmation puppy that says missing...lol...I wanted to and forgot it..I would love to know what she does!

My boyfriend and I went to the party on 9/19 and had a good time despite all the rain. I know all the Villains Mix and Mingles were cancelled, along with the Headless Horseman riding. We started off our night a bit late, so we went over to Club Villain (Jack and Sally was already too long). They had moved the Old Hag into there for the evening, so we managed to get a photo with her. Governor Ratcliffe came out so we also snagged a photo with him. We had fun just standing around watching all kinds of crazy interactions, especially Lady Tremaine and the Stepsisters.

After awhile, we decided to go find Goofy. My boyfriend was dressed at Steampunk Pilot Goofy so he was fairly excited. Because it was still raining, Goofy was at the Railroad Station with Donald. Line didn't take too long and we had a fun interaction.

Afterwards, we walked the back path and were saddened that there wasn't a trail anymore. We got photos with Lotso and Buzz (waiting only short minutes for each). My boyfriend wanted to do a few rides, so we hopped on the Peoplemover. His hat didn't breathe very well, so he wanted somewhere to take it off and just relax.

After that, we went on Space. I was Simba and we had attached Timon and Pumbaa to my shoulders for my costume. We took an awesome photo and the ride began. I was so worried about holding the two guys down and then I suddenly felt my hairband slipping. Normally, I can wear a hairband and have no issues. So it might not have been going anywhere but I tried to grab it and I think I knocked it just a tad and since I was in the back, it went flying off. My boyfriend had his hat off and he was holding onto it with his goggles. When I told him I lost my hairband, he turned around and he was upset and he accidentally dropped his hat. Of course, they do a track walk at the end of the night so we were going to have to get photos without pieces of our outfits. :/ This put a damper on us for awhile.

We went to wait for Celebrate the Magic/HalloWishes. He grabbed us Starbucks while I waited. Both were great and the HalloWishes definitely cheered me up. We went over to the castle to sit for a spot for the parade and hopefully the Mix and Mingle. Unfortunately, it got cancelled even though the rain had subsided, the stage was still wet. The parade was good and my boyfriend got some nice shots.

We followed the crowd to the front and got in line for Jack and Sally. They were saying it was about 45 minutes, but it felt like less. While in line, I jumped over to Guest Relations to put in the Lost and Found claim and get the phone number. When I got back, it was almost our turn. We had a great interaction and some good photos were taken.

We hadn't gotten any candy really so we booked it (it was about 11:48pm) to Adventureland to get some candy. We managed to just about fill both of our bags. We're planning on going back, so the lack of candy situation will be corrected.

We talked to our friend near the train station for awhile so the crowds would go down a bit, then we headed to the ferry and headed home.

The next day, I called Lost and Found. They found my headband, but not my boyfriend's hat. I know there are some places they cannot reach so maybe it won't be found right away. He did lose his goggles too, but he heard those break.

So I was wondering if anyone had seen it, maybe they were on the ride and it landed on them...just really desperate to find it. I've already ordered a new hat and goggles, but he did a lot of work to transform them and I feel bad. We are going again, otherwise I wouldn't care as much to getting it back/replaced. He was just super excited and I feel terrible.

Was this interaction at the Club Villian-Diamond Horseshoe? Do they have set times they appear?

Getting so excited!! :yay:

Yes, Diamond Horseshoe an the dance party is rolling 7-12(midnight) since we watched the fireworks and 2nd parade I can't say how activities were in there then, but we went in before and after those times. The characters rotate, but Cruella seemed to be there a lot of the time as was Dr. Facilier. The Tre'Maine's and At the end, after 11 they were doing a dance off so the characters were literally dancing a lot, so photos are action shots, lol...they are supposed to keep dancing so stopping and posing etc isn't going to happen very easily, don't get me wrong, you can be dancing with them and they will lean in etc for a candid action shot, but as far as stopping, posing, etc I would say to go in earlier in the night. We chose this (and the Monster;s Inc one in Tomorrowland) over the Villain's mix and mingle stage show. It was a hard choice for me as I love me some Maleficent, but glad we went with the interaction of the dance parties. Here is a short clip of the dance party (I think this was the one on 9/1 which we attended)it seems much faster paced when in it than thsi video shows, or I guess it was just me since we were so excited

We went on 9/16, and this was not our experience at all. My DD8 wanted a quick picture with her, as she was posing with others (adults). When the group in front of us was done, DD touched her arm to get her attention, and she began screaming at her to stop touching her beautiful coat and called her a brat. She refused a photo with us, but went on to take pics with several adults around us. I realize she was trying to stay in character, but DD was really hurt and almost cried. Fortunately, Lady Tremaine, the stepsisters, and Facilier were wonderful and accommodating.

A fine line those villains must walk, isn't it. I'm sure it's hard for younger children to understand. :goodvibes

Excellent! That is what I was hoping. We might try to catch it in between the fireworks and 2nd parade. :stir:

How are the lines for Jack & Sally so far this year? My 4-yo has just decided she reallllly wants to meet them.

I'm trying to decide between getting in line around 6-630 or during the first parade (and then watching the 2nd parade).

if you could swing it, I would try to get in line earlier, say 5:30. Have some things to keep your 4 year old busy, some Halloween sticker books or game on your phone...I know it sounds really early to wait but the pay off will be using less party time waiting just as long anyway.

Thanks! Maybe we'll bring a tablet and they can watch the Nightmare Before Christmas. :)
