MNSSHP 2012 Official Information

The party-exclusive one was being distributed only at the Firehouse.

Thanks for this...was wondering if you could get it at the Christmas Shoppe location too. Do you know if they started distribution prior to 7 pm, or not until official party time?

Also, anyone confirm or deny getting bananas at the Jungle Cruise candy stop or Peeps at park exit? A couple of rumors I heard...

I don't know for a fact as I wasn't there, but I'm pretty sure they were only at the Firehouse and not before 7:00p.

I am kicking myself for not going last night when I had the chance.

Wondering how late Liberty Tree will be open on the nights of MNSSHP. I keep reading that you'll need to have reservations before the normal park closing at 5:00. I made a reservation there for 7:30. Will they even be open?

A couple of things.

1. If you were able to get a reservation for that time, then they're open.

2. The park does not close at 5:00p. It doesn't even really close at all, as day guests without party tickets can stay until 7:00p, and the party officially starts at 7:00p.

3. Most importantly, you can certainly do what you like but I cannot overemphasize what you are doing is, in my opinion, a huge waste of party time. You paid around $60/person for 5 hours of party time. By opting to get a table service meal--that you can do any other time of the year--smack dab in the middle of those 5 hours is a waste of time and money. Again, IMO.

I wanted to add to mesaboy's reply that if you do choose to get an ADR for a time during a hard-ticket event like MNSSHP or MVMCP, you must have a ticket for the party. If your ADR is 7:00 or later and you don't have a ticket, you don't get the dinner.

I do happen to agree with his assessment, though. If I'm paying to be at a special event, I'll spend as much of that time as possible participating in the activities, not wasting 90 minutes eating. I plan for us to eat QS early, around 5:00, before the party starts.

The user B&J asked this in a seperate post, but I was curious as well... Do they have a light up Mickey pumpkin lanyard? And is this only sold at the parties or do they sell them in any shops? Thanks for any help!

Quick question. So we are doing MNSSHP on 10/31 but we arrive on the 28th & had planned to go to MK. I booked LTT @ 6:45, not realizing the park closed for a party that night. We will still be able to keep our ADR? If so are we then escorted out afterward. I don't want people to think we were "crashing" the party lol! Any thoughts? This is our first experience with the hard ticket events, and should have planned my ADRs better!

You should be able to keep your ADR and you should expect to be guided towards the park exit when finished.

Okay! good and I like the term guided better then escorted! Makes me feel less deviant.

I understand that some of those cards have already hit ebay. You might want to take a look there, but you may want to be sure you are sitting down when you do.

We won't go to ebay as I had heard of the insanity there. I know that this is board where we all have one thing in common, our love for Disney. I have mailed postcards to others, and have tried to do good things for others. We had extra food credits so we bought the lunch for the couple behind us. Stupid little things like that.

So, I know that since we only want this one card for our son that there are wonderful people here who also just love Disney and do things to help others. Heck that is just everyone on the board nearly.

I know DS will get his Chip and Dale card for his set because someone here will offer.

This is our first time attending this event, so I have some very basic questions and a timing question:

1. Are all of the rides open during the event or only select rides?
2. Are the parades identical? What is the best location to view the parades/fireworks?
3. We have the option of going either Thursday October 25 or Friday, October26. Is one likely to be less crowded? Will either sell out?

Thanks for helping out!

1) Select rides. But it's most of them.
2) Parades are the same. Viewing locations are subjective. Frontierlad is easier to find a last minute spot, but then you won't have a good view of the fireworks.
3) Thursday. Hands down. Friday night will have lots of locals coming out.

Where are the Dwarfs located?
The Dwarfs will be on the RIGHT side of Splash Mountain. Imagine you are walking under the train (with the little playground to your right). When you come out of the tunnel, you would turn left to go to the Splash line, or right to go to the restrooms or meet & greet area (used for Woody, Jessie or Pooh/Tigger). The Dwarfs will set up in that M&G area. We got there around 6 on party day and their 'set' was already up (stools and some jewel carts), and there was already a line of about 10-15 people.

Are the sorcerer cards in a special location??
The cards are only available at the Firehouse on Main Street and will not be distributed until the party officially begins (7pm). You MUST have your party ticket and wearing your wristband to get this card. Also, it is one per cardholder I believe (so my family of 3 can get 3 cards).

2ish weeks!! I'm so excited to go!

A question...is the Town Square Princesses meet and greet different in the MNSSHP, e.g. halloween themed, wearing halloween costumes, or just the same as normal?

If they are different, what time should we get in line for it (e.g. 6:30pm?) and do we queue in a different place than the normal queue? Or do they shut off the normal meet and greet sometime before the party starts? We don't want to get in line early only to find that we get to the front at 6:55 before the changeover to Halloween, if that makes sense?)

Thanks :)

The princes are there during MNSSHP only, so that's twice the characters. Princes are a big draw because they are relatively rare.

How the CMs handle the changeover can vary and is a source of planning stress for some of us. I'd arrive at about 6:15p and ask the CMs there where to line up for the MNSSHP M&G.

Do the meet and greets still continue during the parade in case we decide not to watch it (gasp)?

No. You will not be able to have a Character be seen in both the Parade and a M&G in the same Park at the same time.

Also, anyone confirm or deny getting bananas at the Jungle Cruise candy stop or Peeps at park exit? A couple of rumors I heard...

Yes, Bananas were given out at the Jungle Cruise.

Nothing given out at park exit when we left at midnight.
