MNSSHP 2012 Official Information

Do the meet and greets still continue during the parade in case we decide not to watch it (gasp)?

No. You will not be able to have a Character be seen in both the Parade and a M&G in the same Park at the same time.

Rarely do I disagree with CF, but in this case I will.

While in most cases characters will not do M&Gs at the same time as a parade, for the Town Square Theater M&Gs at least I believe they continue on. I've seen multiple knowledgable posters recommend hitting these M&Gs during parades due to shorter lines.

Hemmed and hawwed and finally bought our tickets to the party. I am surprising my dd#2 with this trip next weekend and I didn't think it would be complete if we didn't do the party. She already has her pirate costume! We plan to hit MK the second night as well so really going to take the advice of folks here and try to do the things that are not the norm at the party - the parade, the mix and mingle, attempt some of the character greetings, get this card at the Firehouse folks talk about (no idea what it is), etc. What is the best place to view the parade and the fireworks. Years ago I did this party and we saw the fireworks from near Splash Mtn and it was perfect. I have watched the regular fireworks shows from frontierland as well and it seemed like a decent spot. Never ever sat to watch a parade so should I dare Mainstreet and sit and wait? And what is this headless horseman folks speak of???

Really? From the Legend of Sleepy Hollow? The coolest mounted bad--- around? :goodvibes

Conditions permitting, he rides in front of the parade along the same route. Depending on where you are on the route, he may appear a few minutes beforehand or as much as 15-20 minutes beforehand since he rides faster than the parade moves.

We received about 30 peeps per person on our way out the exit when we left at approx 11:45 the night of the first party.

Does anyone know if the meet and greets continue during Hallowishes?

Some will, some won't. The ones around the Hub most likely won't, the ones in Town Square Theatre almost certainly will. I expect the Dwarves continue to meet as well.

That was my line of thinking, too! Thanks.

If they have M&G during the parade, you have the actual Disney Characters at the Meet and Greet while for the Parade you have Disney Cast Member's whose Halloween Costumes make them look like Characters.

(Aren't semantics wonderful?)

I can verify that we saw Donald Duck and Daisy in FL during the same time as the parade. We literally walked by the castle and saw them on the float, and then wrapped around the back by Pooh and saw them there. There was also somebody in that grotto where you could meet one of the princesses, though I can't remember who. I want to say I remember seeing Prince Phillip there and laughing that he wasn't invited to the parade, but it's been so long and I wasn't into character hunting. The female mice, though, from Cinderella who I do remember as being there, though I guess they weren't there for all parties, who were in the circle by the train station/fire dept, they weren't there while the parade was going. I also think Jack was gone during the parade as well.

Do you always do that beeping noise when backing up like that? ;) :goodvibes

I know that you can get into the park as early as 4PM, but what about getting in that early in costume? I'm going as a 'fairy princess', the costume involves 6 ft. tall fairy wings, a tiara, and a ball gown. I'm bringing an outfit to change into after we get all the photos out of the way, but I'd hoped to change once (around 10PM) instead of twice. Any thoughts?

Also, we've finally got a reservation at CRT for 6:45 on party night. (I know ya'll think that's crazy but we've waited years to finally snag a reservation, so I wasn't going to say no just because of the party.) Any ideas on when we'd get out? also where? We hoped to go from CRT to the parade to the Villains mix and mingle, do photos, and then go change. Possible?

p.s. where are all the trip reports from this year hiding??:confused3

You can enter at 4 in costume. I have no idea how you are going to eat with 6ft tall wings, though. Do they fold down? I don't know what pictures you are wanting, but eating at CRT during the party is going to take up a lot of time. I think you will be there until at least 8:00, and that is if you get seated right at 6:45 (which will likely not happen). I would think 8:15 or 8:30 would be more realistic.

I would love to see this costume. It sounds crazy! :rotfl: The biggest thing you will need to worry about (besides your own comfort) is making sure that the wings will not impact another guest (like being a tripping hazard). Are they narrow or do they stick out? Posting a picture or two may help us give you more accurate advice. I would hate for you to get there and find out that they will not let you in with them.

Huh. Have they ever stopped someone from going in due to costume size? The wings slide down your back, in my case they go in between the corset part of the ball gown and my skin. (Hope that makes sense.) I'm 5ft tall so they stick out about 2 ft from my shoulders. While they're not easy to get out I would remove them for parade and fireworks viewing (I'm not going to totally ruin someone else's magic.).

We do the party every year, and we're not hugely worried about photos, so I'm not overly concerned with the dining time. That said, would it help any if I arrived at CRT earlier? Do they take walk ups?

You've got me wanting to go try on my costume again!

Okay I couldn't resist, please remember there will be hair, makeup, and a metric ton of pixie dust (aka glitter):

I think as long as you take them off for the parade and fireworks you should not have a problem. If they say anything at the gate, let them know you plan to remove them at those times. They look great! Definitely not what I was picturing. :rotfl: Much more flowy and not structured like typical costume wings. DD is planning to have quite a bit of pixie dust on her, as well. :goodvibes Have fun! :goodvibes

DH and I are heading into the party about 2:30 in costume, no problems expected (as a CM, I've seen tons of Guests in costume before 4 and we don't bother them).

About how long are the....

Fireworks

Parade

Villians show

Thanks!!

I'm estimating that the fireworks --which are amazing btw--are about 12 mins or so. Villains is 7 mins. I asked the CM because I wanted to make sure my timing was right for maleficent! Can't answer for parade, didn't watch it.

We left the first party after midnight and saw nothing at the exit!!
Guess the Peeps were all given out by the time we exited.

No biggie-we were happy w/ the amount of candy we received :-)
