MNSSHP 2006, Ready to start planning!

My DH was captain hook with the long wig and all.

He said this year he is going as himself in shorts and a t-shirt.

I made my hotel ressies yesterday and the cro told me that tickets would be going on sale May 1.

We are going on Sept 29. For costumes we are dressing up as Wendy (me), John Darling (DH), Tink (DD), Peter Pan (DS), and Captain Hook (DS). All of the costumes are lightweight/short sleeve/cool except for the CH for my DS. I have an old Disney Store CH costume from last year that is a little small. I may cut the sleeves off and make it into a vest for him so he's cooler, or just make it short sleeved. Would that look silly?

I know this is kind of a silly question but if I can't come up with a Disney costume, will I look out of place? being Pooh sized, they are hard to find and I don't sew.

Not at all - lots of people will be there in a non-Disney costume, or even no costume.

No! You won't look out of place. Many do and many don't wear costumes. What I do is buy a Halloween shirt instead of a costume. Last year it was the MNSSHP t-shirt and the year before it was a Halloween Goofy shirt (and DH was Goofy that hear so we matched!).

You won't be out of place at all.

Thanks everyone for the great info in this thread, my DC and I will be going in Oct. and weren't sure if we wanted to go since there will be no kids along, now I think we'll go 10/19, and just booked a ADR for LTT since that seems to be the thing to do! :goodvibes

I don't sew either. Not even a button back on my kids clothes! :teeth:
And I am pooh-sized as well, but plan on wearing a costume. If you do a Google search there are really alot of places that sell "plus-sized Halloween costumes".

And even in the stores they have more and more of the plus sizes.

Just an FYI in case you really wanted to dress up but thought you couldn't. :)

Well, since you asked, I think it would be fine. Especially on a kid. They can get away with more and still look cute. :teeth:
It's much more important in my opinion to be comfortable anyways and enjoy the night than to look the "right" way and be miserable.

ETA: Thanks to everyone who took the time to answer my weather/costume question. :)

I agree. I couldn't believe how many little kids I saw last year wearing the furry costumes, like Simba. You know the ones? They're like a sleeper pajamas or a snowsuit and furry on the outside. It was so hot and humid and they were dressed for winter. :faint:

Our family is going in October and we were going to go as Capt. Hook (hubby) Wendy (me), Tink (dd) and Peter Pan (ds) OR I SHOULD say, that me and the kids are all for it, but we are having a hard time buying into it. Wish me luck. What are you wearing for your Wendy costume?? I was thinking about a plain light blue long nightgown and slippers and carrying a teddy bear. I just saw the Hook costume on the disney site. Our other option (between the the kids and I) is that they would dress up as Tink and Peter Pan and hubby and I would just wear Halloween t shirts. BUT that is a last resort and we are telling daddy because if we do, than he will just chuck the whole Hook get up. !!! Wish me luck!!!!

was just reading an email from allearsnet, and it said about the tickets going on sale may 1st. It also said no savings for buying in advance on oct 27th, 31st..and a few other days. Does this mean that we can't even buy the tix in advance, or does it just mean that there is no discount for buying in advance? We are going on the halloween wonder cruise, and wanted to do the party oct 27th. If we don't get the tix in advance, what is the chances of us still getting in? Our plane doesn't arrive on the 27th til later in the day...so we wouldn't be able to buy tix early that morning. Any ideas?

From what I have read on this and other boards is that you can order the tickets in advance, but you will not get a discount. They will be the same price as if you bought them on the day of the party.

oh good!! i'm glad to hear that!! I was so worried we would plan our trip around going to the party that friday nite, and then we wouldn't be able to get into it...i'll be ordering my tix on may 1st then!!

Can someone please tell me what phone # you call to order your tickets for MNSSHP. I want to have it right by the phone for Monday morning so I can call before I go to work. Thanks.

Hello!

We're planning on attending the MNSSHP on 9/29!!! Our first time at this party. We attended the MVMCP a few years back and loved it!

Do you think this date 9/29 will sell out fast or is it okay to wait a while to get the tickets? DH did not get approval for that week's vacation yet so I don't want to jump the gun and then be stuck with 4 tickets I can't use.

I do not think it sold out last year. Halloween night did but not till the end of September.

We are planning a trip in September. Now let's see if I can squeeze another $200 out of my DH and try MNSSHP for the first time. I hope it's as fun as it sounds. Wish me luck!
