Hello,
When do they announce the dates of MMVMCP? Looking at last years dates it tends to start mid- November. Do they usually have the Christmas decorations up by the first MMVMCP date? We have a trip planned and would love to catch it if possible.

Thanks:goodvibes

Yes, the Magic Kingdom will be decorated by the first MVMCP. The Christmas Tree at the front of and the garland over Main Street may not be installed until after taping for the Christmas Parade.

I attended one of the first Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party last year on November 13, 2009 and like the previous post said, the garland over Main Street was not hung and the large Christmas tree was not up yet. All other decorations were there.

In previous years, they had the tree up on the lawn near the castle and then moved it after the taping of the Christmas parade (usually the first week of December). They did not do that last year. :santa:

Yup.. I think that's another example of the cut backs. It takes more man power to do it the old way.
Where does it end?

Thanks for the info, it will be close, we will be there Nov 6 - 13th. We will just have to wait and see. Anybody have any idea how far in advance they release dates?

Look for the park hours..
They usually release the park times well before the MVMCP dates.
Although not a sure fire bet, you can usually see what days the MK closes early, than take an educated guess.

We usually buy our tix (MNSSHP and MVMCP) in May I believe, so the park hours are published before that.

You will get at least one and most likely two dates to choose from. They will probably (very highly likely) do one the evening before Veterans Day on the 10th and another on Friday the 12th.

We were at the one on the 10th last year and the first thing I noticed was no tree being up. It was still a terrific night. We will most likely be going to that one in 2010 as well.

We have our trip planned for Nov 8th till the 13th and hopeing to also catch the MVMCP and Osborne Lights, can't wait for them to announce the dates for this year.

:)The Dates are released in May usually and you can buy tickets right away. DVC has gotten a discount in the past I think. We have bought them on line before but had to do it by phone last year for some reason. Our last trip was 10/28-11/06 and I think dates for both MNSSHP and MVMCP were posted at the same time. When we left some of the decorations were going up around the 4th. The last date for MNSSHP was 11/01.
