MM Warriors - Three Steps to Good Health (As of 11/18)

Thanks Lisa and Jocelyn. I am really wishing I had some of the stores here that carry the different flavors. I only have Walmart that carries Torini, and it's only vanilla, chocolate, caramel and raspberry. I will check out the sites you gave Lisa, and I will also google it. Mike likes the regular sugared flavors, so I can get him those and my s/f ones. I love using the syrups in my whipped creams also. Ok, off in search of syrups while I do :laundy:
I am flying today :banana::dance3:

I've been AWOL for the past 5 days. Our modem went out and we just got a new one yesterday. Now I have the flu and EVERYTHING hurts...my hair and toenails even ache. LOL. I told my kids that when your toenails hurt too, someone should just come along and put you out of your misery. I have such great kids though. The ones that don't have to work today are checking on me as my husband had to work. So sweet!

We had a great Thanksgiving and I will go back on Step 1 tomorrow if I'm over with this flu.
I'm feeling like I might have past the hump as my brain can function enough to write this.

Well, that's the extent of my energy. Will talk to you later. Hope all are well.

I am so sorry you're not feeling well. Maybe some chicken soup or broth would help a bit. I hope you and your toenails feel better soon. I've been so sick that my hair and skin hurt. Not fun. Thinking of you and sending some healing prayers too. Drink lots of water to make that flu bug want to go packing!!

Poor Carol! I hate to hear of you being so sick! Get lots of rest and let the family take care of you. Sounds like they are really pitching in. Diane wrote on her blog about how to survive the flu season. If you feel up to it, you might want to take a gander over there. Get better soon! We miss you!:flower3:

WELL! Sundays trauma is over finally! My godson went to pull our farm truck through my gate to go cut up a fallen tree in the ponies pasture and when he turned to go get in the truck, they all snuck past him and went flying out the gate!! Ponies EVERYWHERE!!! Except in the fence where they belong! Brats went tearing all over the place at warp speed, down to the road (thank GOD they did not cross it), back up to the cows pasture, across the entire 50 acres plus the neighbors 30 acres for about 30 minutes til they got so tired they slowed down and allowed 4 of us to catch them!! I was about to have a heart attack worrying about them getting into the road...OK, so I have NOT had a drink, although if I was a drinker I would have had a whole bottle by now! Took another two hours to cool them all down, keep them away from water so they wouldnt gorge and get sick...I just went down there and had a very serious TALK with them, chewed them all out, shook my finger, threatened to send them to the dog food factory!!! They are currently trying to look very remorseful, but I am not being swayed...no carrots or treats for them tonite!

Carol - so sorry you are sick...I too have had that hit by a truck feeling and would not wish it on anyone. Prayers from here too, that you will be feeling better soon.

Bev - I found my davinci syrups with the coffee at Sams...They were on the top shelf above the coffee and at least this visit they had about a dozen flavors. I have learned here in the boonies to get stuff when I see it , in case its the last time! I now have Davinci bottles lining the top of my fridge!!

Kathy - if you guys want me to buy up the store on Davinci syrups I would be happy to do that and mail them to you guys!!

Between the cowboy roundup and my shoulder bursitis acting up I believe I am going to have a decaf with some Baileys or my Kahlua Davinci, and park on the couch for the rest of the evening...Im still more than just a little ticked off and ready to take a deep breath and relax!!

Good Day Ladies,

Nell, good for you! Don't let anyone walk all over you. I will keep my fingers crossed that you get the pet store job. You would be perfect there

Carol, I hope you are over your nasty bug soon and no one else in the house comes down with it.

Pony, I'm sorry, I had a good chuckle with the idea of ponies running all over the place. But then I realized how stressed you must have been worrying about them getting out in the road  I so glad it all turned out ok.

I've cooking all day. Jocelyn's chili, eggplant parm, peanut butter/flax muffins. Oh, veggie beef soup too.

Pony, I was thinking about your hips hurting so bad at night. Do you ever have sudden pain in the upper front of your leg where it meets your torso? You are not too young to consider osteo arthritis in your hips. I was about 50 when I started having trouble. Just saying, you might want to have some hip ex-rays done if the pain continues.

Bev, I ordered my syrups from Locarbu. I did a lot of looking online and they seem to have the best price once you consider shipping. I found the syrups cheaper elsewhere but the shipping was huge.

Good evening all!! Not much going on now. Still washing clothes. I have decided that my sheets needed washed today and not tomorrow, so they are about to go into the washer now. I have a total of 4 sets of sheets. 2 of them aren't even opened yet. This way when 1 is in the wash, I am able to make the bed with a clean set and not worry about having to have them dried right away. But I will dry them and wait for tomorrow to put them away.

Robin, sorry the ponies were being "difficult" today. I used to babysit for people who had milking cows. There were about 30 of them and they got out. It was a real fun time trying to get them back in, NOT!! I say sit back and enjoy your coffee.

I will probably get my syrups off lowcarbu also. I found a site where it is really cheap, Sam's club price, but the shipping is outrageous.

Ok, getting ready to watch the Steeler game for a bit. Don't think I'll make it back tonight. Have a great night all and sweet dreams!!

Lisa, Have a great time with your Light Party and Christmas Caroling! Yay!:woohoo::santa::woohoo:

It's good to hear from you Beverly! Have fun with your soccer! That is a great suggestion with the emails, and it's how I did the newspapers, but unfortunately the radio stations aren't set up with email programs, even the ones with websites. :( I wish they were. They probably don't have the personnel to read the bulk they might receive.

Kathy, I'm glad you have Tyson!:dogdance: You and he are best buddies! I actually am the opposite with laundry. If I don't put them away as I take them out of the dryer, I get overwhelmed because there is too much at once! Isn't it funny how everyone perceives things differently?

Jocelyn, thank you and everyone for the vote of confidence. I would enjoy working at a pet store. It would make a great part time job. I also saw an ad that H&R Block is looking for seasonal help. I'd enjoy that also. I would like to find something while I'm going to school.

I'm glad your back Carol! I hope you get well and find some energy soon!

Here is a quote from Diane's Blog

November 29, 2009......."After Thanksgiving"

Well, the long Thanksgiving weekend is coming to a close and I would be remiss if I didn't remind everyone how to correct metabolic mayhem caused by more than two "breaks" in any Step of the Miracle that occur within a one week period. What???? Remember that excesses or underages in carb that occur in any 5 hour block count as one "break" in your program. So, if you were "off program" for Thanksgiving dinner only:

Step 1: add 3 days to the end of your 8 weeks for this one break.
Step 2 or Step 3: one break does not necessitate any changes...simply return to Step 2 or 3.

If, however, it was more than just Thanksgiving dinner, you are going to have to rewind, regroup, and settle things down.. Let's say that later Thanksgiving evening (after your Thanksgiving dinner fiasco) you had another piece of apple pie. Afterward, you fell asleep without your night snack. On Friday, you dipped into the leftover mashed potatoes. On Saturday, you didn't resist one last helping of stuffing . Since there were more than 2 breaks in your program:

Step 1: For each break in the program, add 3 days to the end of the 8 weeks.
Step 2: Return to Step 1 for 10 days, then resume Step 2
Step 3: Return to Step 1 for 10 days, then Step 2 for 10 days, then resume Step 3.

You'll use the same method to "recover" from your Christmas or Hanukkah celebrations in December! Make sure to clean up after Thanksgiving correctly so you can regain your footing for next month! Diane

Hi, ladies. I just got home from taking Chloe to the airport. I was a little sad but she will be back in two weeks! Well, two weeks and one day. She is a little overwhelmed with life - big changes with going away to college - living in a dorm, eating in a cafeteria (she is a vegan and likes to eat really healthy), juggling a work study job, her classes and trying to find time to for herself. She told me that she is having a hard time finding balance. I didn't want to depress her and tell her that her mother, at 51 years of age, still can't find balance. She was glad to be home to sunny Cali for a few days - we went to the beach yesterday and today. It was 72 today! We went to the farmers market this morning and she got some of her favorite foods.

I have to get caught up on the posts. Robin - sorry about those rascally ponies!

Ok guys, where do you order your Davinci syrups from? Or do you just order them directly from Davinci? I need some flavors for my muffins, etc. All I have available in s/f is vanilla, chocolate, and caramel.
Thanks guys

Kathy - are you still liking the microwave muffins? Any favorites?

Lisa, Tom can play with Tyson all he wants when we go to Robins. The only problem is when you play ball, he thinks WE should get him and the ball, not him bring it to us LOL. Maybe Bonnie can explain it to him :lmao:

Kate, loved the beach photos you posted on FB! Wish I could have been there to enjoy it with you!!

Kathy - I wish you could have been here too! So does Halle - she could play with Tyson. That is too cute about having to get Tyson and the ball!

Lisa - Is J-P gone? I hope you soaked him up!!! Did you get your tree decorated? It sounds like Tom is right where he should be weight wise. I am glad that he decided to stay on Step 2.

Carol - I am sorry you are sick and hope you have turned the corner.

Robin - sounds like you got some extra exercise today chasing the ponies. Now you don't have to go to the gym.!

Thanks for the info on the DaVinci (You too Barb). I'll check online when I'm done here.

I spent tonight balancing the checkbook so I can pay bills tomorrow. I do this for my clients all the time, but hate to do it for myself.

Oh well, it's off to bed for now.

Good morning everyone. A quick note today. Shouldn't have stayed up until midnight watching the game. It was a good game, though the Steelers lost by a field goal.
Barb, no special flavor I like with the muffins. I do notice I am leaning toward the chocolate more. Last night I used some natural peanut butter in it and it was ok too.
Ok, off to get a shower on this rainy morning. At least it's warm out. By Friday, they are talking snow again :( I don't mind snow, just the cold.
Catch you all later

Morning!

Kathy - I wish we could send you some of our nice weather! It probably won't last but it was 72 degrees yesterday. We ate our Thanksgiving dinner outside!

Carol - I hope you are feeling better today.

Robin - I hope the ponies are feeling a little remorseful.

Morning all, checking in quickly as I got to spend 30 minutes talking with Ken this morning and that is a rare treat these days!

Kate - so sorry that Chloe has gone back...I totally agree with you about being off balance...seems like just when we think we have it all figured out something throws us off again! Oh, poor thing, she has so much to learn! and God forbid we should let her know the reality!

Carol - hope you are better today

Kathy - too bad you couldnt have slept in a bit!

I will catch up with you later, have to go feed the bad ponies and get ready for work! Love you guys!!

Lisa - Is J-P gone? I hope you soaked him up!!! Did you get your tree decorated? It sounds like Tom is right where he should be weight wise. I am glad that he decided to stay on Step 2.

J-P is in bed now. He leaves today at 5:10 pm, but he'll be back in three weeks. We had such a nice visit. He spent a lot of time with my parents and went out to see his friends last night. No girls came around this time!:rotfl: We're hoping to go for a walk around the lake before he has to pack. Sad! No toooooo bad though. I'm so glad you got to got to the beach and the farmers market with Chloe. She's had to adapt a lot in the last few months! It will get easier and all of the not-so-perfect scenarios will serve to help her adapt to situations later in life. J-P has had about 16 roommates over the 5 years - sometimes one at a time and sometimes 3. He's sure learned a lot about what he wants and doesn't want, lol! I think it will help him be a better husband someday to learn to adapt to a lot of different people. His business is in an exciting phase - he has a partner now and they are pitching to big advertising agencies in New York and LA, as well as Portland. It's a beautiful day today! I'm still working on my tree slowly. I and the ladder went over last night. I thought I was on the bottom rung and I wasn't when I stepped down. Near disaster!
