MM Warriors Part Deux (As of October 27)

Carol: I'm still waiting to hear from the Julian folks. I was hoping they would reply promptly. Those of us that ate it got results, so it couldn't be too bad...I don't really do many 5 x 5's on Step 2, so it's pretty easy to count it, but it would be nice to have validation that it is indeed a freebie!;)

I think that olives are wonderful! I love olive recipes. One I particularly like is a Jamaican recipe, and I don't remember all the specifics. It has browned hamburg with onions, green olives and raisins of all things. I was really freaked upon looking at it the first time until I tasted it. Wow. I don't think we can use raisins, but there's probably similar recipes with other fruits.

Wish we could cook together, Nell! Maybe someday! You are so sweet. I'd love to think of a substitute for raisins, too. I am substituting pomegranate seeds for my dried cranberries in that apple salad. The cranberries have sugar in them, like raisins do.

Lisa, I know I'm going to sound stupid when I ask this, but what is SYTYCD?

Feast upon the Words of Christ

Hi Ladies!! I haven't got time now to read all I missed, but we had a nice time in Florida and got to enjoy Seaworld and visiting family. I ate horribly!! and I felt like poop! So I'm back to step 1! oh well, I had some yummy food though! I'll try to catch up and see what you all have been up to.

Natalie - glad you are back on board. Sorry you felt like poop. Glad you had a good time.

Hi Pam, good to see you.

I love that newborn baby smell too. I miss that.

I found the canned black soy beans that Jocelyn uses in her crock pot chili. I am looking forward to that since we have a cold front coming through. Tomorrow is roast, potatoes and carrots in the crock pot. I'll have the roast and sweet potato fries.

Well, I just got caught up on 5 pages of reading, but it's time for bed.

See you tomorrow from the office.

So You Think You Can Dance competition with amazingly talented dancers. My parents love it more than anything and we are taking Mom for her birthday for the second year in a row to the tour of the top 10. Fun!

That would be fun! Maybe we can cook together on Oprah!

Nell - I made black bean soup today!! the recipe is on the thread here, I think Jocelyn posted it for me...very easy and good too! we are getting rain too, I guess we need it, but it made for a rather gloomy day...I cant believe how much junk I have accumulated in the 3 years since I moved...I threw away TONS of stuff before I moved and it seems to have followed me!!

The mocha flavored spenda was a yummy addition to my decaf today...I just hope they continue to carry it at Walmart, since I was so surprised to find it I bought one in every flavor!!! I took my ricotta and stirred in some PB and then some of the Polaner 2g black raspberry jelly...just kind of swirled the jelly in and it is SO GOOD!

I can see you in Walmart gathering up goodies like you hit the jackpot! I'd like to go and get some more from the store near me, but the sugar free is only vanilla and hazelnut. I'm really interested in some of the interesting flavors people are talking about!

Have a wonderful and restful sleep Beverly!

I had my first orange straight from the tree today. I was the best orange I've ever tasted! Just thought I'd share that. I think it's just about time for me to go to sleep. :)

Hey Pony, I just read that white tea has the same benefits as green tea but it has a milder taste and is a little sweeter. Maybe you will like the taste better?

Hi,

I finally got caught up on the last 3 days posts. Glad to see some missing faces back.

I'm fine - played bridge the past several says so that takes up my free time. Should have more time later in the week.

The late night teaser was about a storm coming through. If that is the case, California will have some rain from the Pineapple Express as is makes its way across the Pacific.

The black bean soup could be made with regular black beans or the black soy beans - depending on what step you are on.

Have a great MM day:banana:

Well, I crashed early last night!! Actually had to wake up at 10:30 for my bedtime snack! LOL. its kinda nice to get those catch up hours in with the crazy schedule I seem to keep!

Nell - Im definitely going to see if I can find the white tea then...maybe I will be able to choke it down!! BTW, that weather you sent this way has really hit us now! It rained nice and easy all afternoon and evening yesterday, then the wind picked up and it howled all night while it POURED rain and its still going now at 8:30am!! The dog had a complete breakdown, he hates thunderstorms, and even though we had none of that, apparently wind upsets him too...poor baby! Doesnt seem to bother the ponies, they are standing out in it like wild mustangs! So glad you enjoyed that first orange!

Jocelyn - good to see you back, hope your storm isnt as "interesting" as the one we're having!

Lisa - I think my mom would love that SYTYCD tour too...wonder if there is any chance it would come anywhere near here? Maybe to the bigger cities like Roanoke or Richmond...

off to have my breakfast...back later!

One of my students gave me a green tea to try and now I am hooked, it is by Yogi and is called Green Tea Muscle Recovery. If you go to amazon they have different types and it list the ingredients. The one I have has Tumeric, stevia leaf, lemon myrtle, skullcap leaf, blackberry leaf, lemongrass, yucca root, cat's claw bark, devils claw root and green tea leaf.

Lisa, I've seen the Pomegranate fruit in the grocery, but I didn't know how to eat them. It's interesting that you just eat the seeds. I wonder what type of climate the tree grows in? The news show about spices sounds interesting!

Laura, up here in this area there is such a serious sinkhole problem, that the only insurance available in Holiday is government sponsored insurance. And I hear it is extremely pricey. My landlord has a minimal catastrophic insurance, but he's got enough money to take the loss if something should happen.

Pam, it's great to hear from you! I think it would be lovely to meet your daughter. :) Is she a peaceful type?

I've been very busy again today. :) It's still a mess around here though! Can you believe that we've only been here since April and we're already getting too much clutter? Well, I'm going to put a couple of things out on the curb and list them for free on facebook as soon as the rain leaves. Hopefully tomorrow. I'm glad the ground is getting much needed water.

I made rice with black beans to go with dinner tonight. I managed to make the brown rice good. I had to use more water than white and cook it for longer on a lower heat. The Sazon spice has a lot of turmeric, so I got some nice health benefits from it. I'd like to make a black bean soup. I need to check if Jocelyn's soup is for black soy beans or black beans. I can't use too much soy. A friend of mine used to make a black bean soup that was wonderful. I wish I had her recipe.

My cat is massaging me. It might be nice if she didn't have daggers at the end of her paws! Actually, if I could just get her to move over to my lower back that would be ideal. :lmao: I moved furniture around today.

My new gold fish are getting tame. I didn't want to put tons of money into fish when I don't know when we are moving, so I went with goldfish, and then saved a couple of feeders. When I walk back and forth near the tank now they are all following me. :fish: :fish: :fish: I think they figured out I'm the food lady.

Well, I've got to check a couple of things. I'll check in a bit later!

I didn't know there are sink holes in Florida :scared1:
