MM Warriors Part Deux (As of October 27)

I found a flag on eBay with a Chrismoose on it and I have a single lone window that is very visible on the carport. I think I'm going to get that and hang it like a curtain. With the light on it will be all lit up!

If you want affordable yard decor, check out Collections etc. I just found a ton of stuff under 20 bucks for the yard. Now I can get cheesy!

Good night everyone! Sweet dreams! :grouphug:

Sounds like a plan, Nell!

Jocelyn - I'm here. It's only 9:00 p.m. here. Though my body is telling me it's ten.

It takes a bit of adjusting to get used to the clock chnges. I used to love when Daylight Saving started and hated when we went back to normal time as I love daylight. Here the sun always seems to go down early, but since it doesn't get cold it doesn't bother me so much. We plan our dinner parties around sunsets as we get beautiful ones - always looking for the Green Flash!

With all you do any extra sleep is appreciated, I sure.

Again, I want to say how nice this home is that you found for all of us. It is an amazing site as I look at other things on it. Thank You.

Sleep Tight!

I was motivated by the talk of home repair to install the new lights I had bought at Lowe's. They replace your can lights with more decorative lights that hang. So I turn off the breaker and start reading the instructions. It tells me not to use if there is a dimmer unless it meets all specs. Like how do I know that? So I have to wait until tomorrow when DH can ask the professional electricians who are working at the club. Darn. They have been here for 2 months, and I was going to do it finally. Hopefully tomorrow. :confused3

I remember at my old house, there was a ceiling fan in the dining room. I got a beautiful chadelier at Lowes cheap, and decided I could put it up. So, I get the ceiling fan down, and realize there are "extra" wires LOL.
So I call my friend who worked in electrical, and he talked me through it. I'm standing on my dining room table and getting zapped at the same time. Can't remember why I didn't switch off the breaker :confused3
After about an hour and a half, I realize they put in a switch loop for the ceiling fan.
But did that chandelier look nice!! It was a plastic tiered one that had beveled edges on it, that just glistened in the sun and when the lights turned on. Loved it!!
At least now I know what a "switch loop" is now LOL:lmao:

That's the spirit! I want to meet someone that paints the lifesized wooden cutouts. I would love to have a family of carolers with a light shining on them. Maybe you could paint a Chrismoose!:yay:

My ex and I one year did that. We got the plywood, cut out 4 people, a sleigh and a couple reindeer. It looked so nice in front of the house. Wish I still had them :(

Good Monday Morning!! Pony is even up before Kathy today!! Going to sleep early last night just meant I got up earlier....oh well, th eplumber is coming to change out the thermostat on the hot water heater, as he believes that is the culprit and will only fail again in the near future. I do NOT want to wake up to no hot water again, so bring on the new thermostat!!

Step 2 begins this morning, so I am off in 15 minutes to begin my morning with some eggs and 11-20 toast! Cross your fingers that my blood sugar remains in its place this time and that I can manage the schedule and my carbs like a BIG GIRL...no more re-runs for me! I will be crying to you guys by tonight Im sure, with questions and doubts!

OK, Let the Mushiness and Sappiness Begin: I received a poem from Ken again this morning...

" Theres a sea between us love, And I wish that it werent true,
For every day when I awake, I yearn to be with you
There are many miles between us, love, though you're always in my heart
and every night beneath the silver starlight
I pray for the day we'll never part
You have been called before Cupids Court, for stealing my heart,
trespassing in my dreams, and robbing me of my senses
You have been found guilty, and therefore sentenced
to a lifetime with me...how do you plead, Love? "

OK, now that you are either running to the bathroom to "yak" up your breakfast, or are making gagging, choking noises, or are just plain :lmao::rotfl:
cracking up...is this seriously normal for a 51 year old woman and a 59 year old man? Dont forget to envision this poem being said with that sexy Austrian (german) accent too! OMG, I think I need coffee, NOW!!

Please forgive me anyone who just got an instant cavity!!

Well, I am up extra early with the time change....

Robin - I love the poem! Ken is a keeper! I didn't realize that he has an accent! That makes it even better.

You are one up on me. I have no idea what a switch loop is.

As we sat there, uncertain what to do, I missed my dad a lot. He died almost 7 years ago and was the most amazing handyman ever. He would have been able to help me. My first thought is that I really want these lights, so I'll remove the dimmer if I have to.

Good Morning Friends!

Looks like I've missed a lot of home improvement and Chismooses :) Busy weekend getting ready for my daughter's visit today  I'm supposed to re-start step2 today but decided it would be easier to stay on step1 until she leaves Saturday since we're going to be running around a lot.
My son isn't coming until Thursday. He's going to help me set up a Facebook account :scared1: Not sure I want to expose the public to my face ;)

Pony, your man is so awesome, and an accent to boot (swoon) :thumbsup2

We'll be going to Ross and TJ Max this week so I'm hoping they have some good Davinci syrups, especially pumpkin :lovestruc

I'm making Jocelyns' Cinnamon Splenda Nuts this morning. Can't decide how to store them :confused3 Do you think since they have butter in them they should be stored airtight in the frig ??

I'll check back later.

Love You!

Kate: When John-Paul was really little our youngest lab ate the entire face and tail off of his stuffed bunny while I was picking J-P up from school. We sat in my rocking chair and cried for 2 hours. I then set about trying to find a teddy bear hospital. Found this lady in her 80’s famous for making stuffed animals and drove all the way to Paradise so she could remake Bunna. When he was ready to come home, Tom took the day off work and we all drove up to get him, lol! He has quite a history. My Mom threw away my favorite doll after I threw up on it; do you think that warped me, lol? I think that's why I went to the ends of the earth for Bunna.

Kathy: You are very talented! I wish you had those yard decorations still, too! Could you do it again with Mike?

Robin: Bring on the mush; the poem was very romantic and touching. It’s nice to have a man that can express himself. My grandparents were mushy all their lives.

I ordered the pumpkin syrup from locarbu. Who had the pumpkin mousse’ recipe? I thought I saved it, but can’t find it.

Hey Lisa, pumpkin junkie here. I posted a thought, more than a recipe. I was thinking whipping cream, cream cheese, vanilla, pumpkin syrup and pumpkin pie spice. I'm sure you could come up with the measurements depending on how much you're making. :thumbsup2

Do you think half and half on the whipping cream and cream cheese?

Do you think half and half on the whipping cream and cream cheese?

I think you could sub part of the whipping cream but not all. With the liquid from the syrup and all 1/2&1/2 it may not whip up stiff enough. JMHO.

Lisa, did you see my previous post? I made Jocelyn's Cinnamon Splenda nuts. With the butter in the recipe, do you think they should be stored airtight in the frig?

Oh, I meant proportions of the whipping cream to cream cheese - half of each? Well, I was pondering that about the nuts. Butter will keep on its own out of the fridge seems like forever so I doubt you have to refrigerate. They might get soggy? How fast can you eat them, lol!

 Yes, I think half of each would be good. You're right, I think I can leave the nuts out. They turned out really good, so I don't think they'll be laying around too long..

Also, on the mousse. I'm thinking a little extra sweetener other than the syrup might be needed ? Might take a little taste test..
