Good Afternoon All
I did not get on the computer for long yesterday and did not get through many posts so am trying to catch up now
We drove to the far side of the island for an outing today and went to the new Target. I did not look for the Smucker’s 1 carb spread. That’s what I get for not keeping up on the posts!!!

Just as good as I advanced throught the posts! I wouldn't have found it anyway. That's OK Lisa. We love you anyhow
The only Lowe’s on the island is out that way so made a stop there first. Of course, what we bought doesn’t work so will now have to go and return it. I’ll be checking the new Target later in the week!! Things rust and disintegrate so fast here that we are always replacing things, but can never find the same thing twice. Oh well, makes life interesting.
Did you see the pumpkin pie recipe on Diane’s blog yesterday? I had a can of pumpkin in the pantry and thought I would try it as our Halloween treat. It was quite yummy. Bob said I could make it any time. She says 1 ¾ cup of pumpkin which is one 15 ounce can. I used two measuring cups only to find out I had emptied the can!!! Saves washing things if you just dump the can in.
Thanks for the nice long post, Beverly. You summed up everything perfectly!
I think Polaner’s is an East Coast thing when I went on-line to try to find some. I know it is made back there.
Pony – Wasabi and raspberry could be a very interesting combo – let me know before I try it! Should help make step 2 even more interesting for you!
Kathy and any one with type 2 diabetes- here is a link to an article I got a couple of days ago on Stevia
http://low-carb-news.blogspot.com:80/2009/10/possible-stevia-side-effect.html
Lisa, that is so funny about the jam – and here I was sooooo excited as there is no way I can seem to get Polaner’s. Do you know how much I like a bit of jam with my PB????? Onward to step 2…………But PLEASE don’t feel bad. I do things like that all the time especially when I mix hearts and diamonds or spades and clubs in my bridge hand and make an odd bid. The look on my husband’s face when my hand comes down is always a surprise!
Hi Melanie – Nice to “see” you
Doesn’t Benefiber make a soluble, non tasty fiber that mixes well with food? A little Thick’n Thin is also fiber if you want to thicken something – such as your low carb jams!!
When I make applesauce I wash the apples, quarter them and cook them and then run them through a Foley Food Mill. You don’t even have to take the seeds out. I love apple butter so thought when I get to step 2 I would make that.
Nell – that is so funny. I used to make Red Pepper jam all the time and saved some for Christmas. I was thinking I could make it with Splenda and since peppers are legal, it would be fine as a free food. I’ll have to look into it. I used to get red peppers from a farm so they were very inexpensive. Here they are $8 or $9 dollars a pound!! Actually, Costco sometimes has them.
Robin – glad you got the water heater to work. I HATE cold showers.
Sorry I don’t have a Chrismoose here – haven’t seen one. Am I missing out on something?? Condo living limits outside décor, to say the least.
O K – I have read through 2 days of posts. It is only 10PM on the east coast with the time change so maybe someone will still be up when I post this.
Everyone seems quite up-beat except for a pain or 2. My hubby's Gram, who lived until almost 103, had a saying – “What ever you do, just don’t get old!!” Well, we haven’t figured out how to accomplish that, but we try to act young!
Love to all of you
