Can you view MM photos on the mobile app, and if so, how soon after they are taken?

Interesting....I just got this "mixed" response from WDW's online help (via email)......

We appreciate your inquiry! Although we would love to assist you with your questions, we are not connected to the reservation systems via email. However, anyone at:407-939-4357 (Internet Help Desk) will be happy to research your issue for you. You should now be able to view your photos through a smart phone. They have upgraded that capability as of recent.

We hope this provides clarification!

If you have questions or need further assistance, feel free to contact us.

That applies to the MyDisneyPhotoPass.com website, not the MDE mobile apps.

I don't know how accurate these answers are. I have a friend on Facebook who is currently in WDW and posted a photo from the 7DMT ride (which by the way were spectacular in every way...focus, image clarity, color saturation, etc). When I replied to her post to ask if she purchased the Memory Maker she said yes. She posted the photos on FB within a few hours of being on the ride. Can anyone else verify this claim?

YOu have to access them through the web browser (you can log into Disney and then go to photopass). Most of our pictures were there in very short time, a few of the magic shots showed up later.
I don't see anything in the app that allows viewing.

OK, so she probably accessed it through the MDE website (with her phone's browser), downloaded it to the phone, then uploaded it to FB.

BTW, I just received my MM card in the mail yesterday. Am I suppose to link it now to MDE with the number on the back of the card? It seems like it's already linked to MDE. See screen captures below.

Do I then need to link my magic bands to it upon receiving them? Do I even need to bring the card to WDW with me? I thought the magic bands take the place of any "card" that you need to carry around.

You don't need to link Memory Maker, as it's already linked. The link Memory Maker option is only needed if you purchased it while at WDW.

The option to link MagicBands is only used if you purchase retail MagicBands and don't have them linked at the time of purchase. If you are receiving MagicBands for having a Disney Resort Reservation, they will be linked to your account automatically.

Your MagicBand can be used in place of the Memory Maker card. Attraction photos should link automatically by use of the long range transmitter in the MagicBands. PhotoPass photographers can scan one of your MagicBands to link photos to your MyDisneyPhotoPass.com account.

So why did they send me the card if they knew I had a complete WDW package?

One of the semi-recent changes they made to the PhotoPass site was the ability to share photos. From this page -> https://mydisneyphotopass.disney.go.com/help-and-support/viewing-sharing-photos#3 they have the following directions
To share photos via Facebook:

Select the "Share" link at the top right of the “Memories” page.
Choose the photo(s) you would like to share by selecting the checkbox next to each.
Select “Next.”
Select the "Share with Facebook" button.
On the resulting pop-up window, enter your Facebook username and password and press the "Connect" button.
In the new pop-up box, use our greeting, or enter your own in the "Write something..." field and select "Publish".
