MLA Format

I'm writing a research paper, it needs to be in MLA format.

But I am confused, when you use information you got from a source, do you need to cite it even if it is not a direct copied quotation?

Can anyone help me out? No one I've talked to knows for sure...

MLA. If you used the source to retrieve information, you have to site it.

You basically have to cite every single word that anyone else has spoken about whatever topic you're writing about.
At least that's how it seemed when I did my research paper. 6 pages of (McLellan 1) and whatnot.

MLA isn't that bad. I have used it uncountable times and the format comes natural to me now. It just takes time using it again and again and it won't be so bad.

Like someone else had said, everything that is not your own idea must be cited and since it is MLA, with paranthetical citations.

Make sure your citations are in MLA format also. There is a specific order for that and it is very punctuation sensitive. You will want your second line of the citation indented to make your parantheticals easier to read.
