I've just started looking into airfare for January. Right now Airtran is between $129-134 each way.
This seems expensive to me:confused3
Does anyone know if the prices will get lower or is this a good price?

That's really not a bad price, IMO, from MKE. You can always book now, and keep looking for lower prices, but I bet you won't find lower than that. I often check Southwest out of Louisville and Nashville (both with historically good fares to MCO) and they rarely have anything better than those prices.

We fly out of MKE and the lowest price I've ever seen over the years was $120 RT. That was about 5years ago. Gas prices are high so what is available right now may be the best you will find.

We have paid anywhere between $120 and $250 RT. (Usually paying an average of $175.) If you can plan ahead and book the first day flights are released you can usually get a good price. I know this doesn't help this time.

Good luck!

My family flies out of Milwaukee and they have never paid much lower than what you are seeing now.

We're flying SW out of MKE in a couple weeks for 80 each way, but that was purchased during their major anniversary sale. I still keep an eye out and I've seen 114 a couple of times, and 120 a few times also, but that's really the best. We didn't feel like driving, but there are a lot more flight times and usually about 10$ cheaper to fly SW out of Chicago.

I would say that is a good price but not great. If it were me I would book it as I don't expect to see great prices anytime soon and it would kill me to wait and have the price go up

I'm not completely familiar with pricing for your time period. But we fly out of MKE and I got $129 from southwest for the end of Oct. AT was much more, like maybe $187 and up for nonstop. I do think you have a good price and one I know I could live with but it's probably not great.HTH:)

I fly out of Milw, too. I have $89 one way for October 19 and the same for returning on October 25. In early Dec, I have $109 each way. All are nonstop. BUT, I purchased them at higher rates and waited for sales to ask for a credit on my purchase prices. I also have purchased March airfare for $134 each way. But I am counting on a sale sometime between now and then to reduce that cost, too.

I never find any SW fares close to the fares I pay on Airtran out of Milwaukee. The flight times are much better on Airtran, too.

I'm flying MKE to MCO in 3 weeks & my flights were either $119 or $125 each way. I think my flights in May were $109 & in January my MCO to MKE would have been $134, but I had enough A+ points to only pay for my seat fee & taxes, so I paid about $20. I try to only take the direct flights (I don't like switching planes in Atlanta if it means just saving a few dollars. I'd rather be at Disney faster & pay a little more.)

Another Wisconsinite here looking at February fares. When we went this past February we paid little over $200 RT. I like the AirTran flights and was wondering too if the prices would come down at all. What is their policy if the price goes down after you've booked?

I bought my MKE to MCO tickets for Airtran last Feb for my August Trip. I paid $254 per person, but that included the seat selection (normally $25), and 1 checked bag (normally $20)

Good luck!

Seat selection isn't $25. It's $6 or $15 one way. Or $20 if you take an exit row seat.
