MK walk to the Contempoary hotel

how much time does it take to walk to the contempoary hotel from MK? is it a clearly defined path. i am sort of directionally challenged.

i was thinking that it would be faster at night to take a walk over the Contempoary and then catch the launch back to WL since most of the crowds would either head to the buses and the boats first

hopefully this is one of those hidden secrets that save time.

There is a clearly defined pathway that lead to the Contemporary from MK. When exiting the parks, go to the right and follow the paved pathway to the Contemporary. We took this way several times last week, and it only took 5-10 minutes to get there. It is a very nice walk!

Isnt it to the left as you exit MK? If you go to the right, thats where the monorails are. I may be wrong (maybe the path loops back, but the CR is to the left of MK when exiting).

Yes, you go to the left when you exit the MK.

Yes there is a walk to the contemporary upon exiting the MK to the left, although to answer your question I still think it would be faster to just catch the boat at the launch that goes to the Wilderness Lodge and Ft.Wilderness at park closing the boats come through pretty quickly and I don't think they make the run from the Contemorary as often to the WL. You may end up waiting quite awhile to hitch a ride from there to the WL. I have never had a problem catching the boat back to the lodge although I would guess this would depend on the time of the year.

The walk is fairly short. It takes maybe a little more than 5 minutes if that. We used this way about 4 times to get a boat back to WL. We were in a no rush trip and enjoyed the different views. If the boat dock isn't too crowded, then take the boat back to WL if that's where your heading. Yes, you would go to the left past the bus stops to find the walkway. The monorail follows the path part of the time. Also, signs are posted for help. Have fun!!

When you exit MK, turn LEFT head toward the bus stops....then just keep on following the sidewalk.....it is a nice short walk to the Contemporary....and it is oh-so satisfying to know that you are not waiting in yet another line with all of those other people who are trying to exit at the same time!!!!

thanks for the replies!!

we plan on taking that path at least once just to see a different part of the world. taking the boat from WL to the Contempoary then walk to MK will be an option for us that we will definitly use.

have a new digital video camera so i want to get real good use from it

When we stayed at the Contemporary, we found it to be quicker most times to take the monorail to TTC and catch the buses there, rather than at the resort....just our personal observations...

Yeah, we must be more Daryl's pace, lol. Took us longer than 5 minutes, but it was not unbearable. Also, I'm not sure I would do it during the middle of the day -- it's so hot!
