MK very crowded tonight, but hey let's close at 11:00

Apparently neither yourself or the minions who liked your post get it. This isn't my first Disney rodeo, bro.

I ABSOLUTELY EXPECT LONG LINES THIS TIME OF THE YEAR.

Oh I completely get it and get your frustration. But your arguments just make you sound like a hater against everyone who disagrees with you. And the minions are in Universal bud, maybe try there for longer park hours. Enjoy your trip!

i'd sure as hell rather wait in line for 2.5 hours for 7DMT than sit behind this desk right now.

You're nuts. Waiting 2 1/2 hours in line for ride that lasts just about 1 minute. I'd take my desk on a weekend before doing that, as NO RIDE is worth any wait greater than 30 minutes- at that point it becomes a waste of my time.

But nobody is going to pay you for waiting in line for 7DMT. ;)

ETA: Someone bet me to it!

Actually someone would pay me to stand in line for 2.5 hours to go on 7DMT. I get paid while on vacation.;) With that said, it would not be the most efficient use of that time. :goodvibes

I guess that might make a difference to me if I had limitless vacation every year.

I never make it that late anyway. I think one time we stayed till 10:30 and my keister was dragging the concrete.

I usually don't. But in the summer I do. Many people use those late hours to make up for time lost hiding in the room during the blazing heat (and showers) of the Florida in the summer in the afternoon.

I wonder if anyone besides me gets so tired of the constant "if you don't like it don't go" comments? That is obvious but I imagine that those who find fault still find value or at the very least still have hope. I don't understand why it bothers some people so much if people critique certain things.

Shorter hours are just that - shorter hours. It doesn't matter if Disney owes people longer hours or not. Or if Disney has enough attractions or decent food or clean bathrooms or reasonable prices..etc. What matters is whether people still see value in what they get. I think that forums are the perfect place to discuss these things both good and bad and to coin a phrase "if you don't like it don't read the thread".

Kind of like how when people defend Disney or just don't really let what they do bother them they are accused of snorting pixie dust, or drinking the kool-aid or being the Dis apologizers? It all gets old.
Maybe people are sick of hearing people complain, and the easiest answer to those who complain about all the little things that Disney is doing to the value of their vacation is to tell them not to go. It does make the most sense. If you don't want people to give you advice about what you can do so you have nothing more to complain about, "don't post a thread".

OP, if you looked at a crowd calender and park hours, and it was such a joke, why did you go? Honest question, its not like it was a shock.

Sounds about right.

Trust me kids, Disney heard my concerns loud and clear prior to our trip. They then compensated me very well for my clear and concise rationale for why IMO the value of a Disney trip has diminished.

My best.

I am not trying to be a jerk to you or anything, but why did you even book the trip to Disney if you felt you had such concerns that you needed to have them "heard...loud and clear PRIOR to (your) trip"? If I am reading this situation relatively well, you were never going to be 100% satisfied with this vacation. MK could have been open to just you and your family 24 hours a day and given you unlimited Fast Passes and Dining Reservations and something still would have ended up being wrong.

I was really understand where you were coming from before this post. It basically sounds like you have previously complained and gotten something "compensatory" from Disney and you are just at it again. That is what is wrong with things these days. You should not have gotten anything, because you knew the value was diminished for you before you went, but you still decided to go. How is that Disney's fault at all? It makes no sense. That is on you...

Both points are very valid.

And yes, people should be able to complain. Some criticism is healthy for all. But the constant complainers, and you know darn well you've come across them, do get old. There are some here who hate on every choice Disney makes, can't find a single positive thing to say about their trips or Disney's decisions. One has to wonder, if Disney can do nothing at all right in their minds why do they continue to give Disney their business. I would like to have an answer personally. I know if I encounter a business who does things that I don't agree with I no longer do business with them. And I don't take off to complain over and over and over again about every little decision they make.

And just because someone doesn't hate on everything Disney does it doesn't mean they don't think Disney does no wrong. They do. They just aren't the devil that the other end of the spectrum things they are.

I agree. I am flabbergasted people are so riled up about hours. Where does Disney owe them to open till midnight, or later? Because they did before is a ridiculous argument. Anyone who counts on what was done in the past is at fault when they are disappointed.
Disney gets to set their own hours. For their reasons. We (the public) has nothing at all to say about them. They don't get to suit our desires. And it's really pretty self absorbed to get so worked up when they don't meet our "demands"
One of the reasons people love the late hours is how fewer people are there, compared to the daytime hours.
Well, why would Disney open those late hours if to them, they aren't wanted. Cause that's what low attendance tells them, these hours aren't needed.

The way I look at it, it's not like the hours are very short. They are still open 8AM to 11PM or maybe 9AM to 10PM. That's a heck of a long day. I don't believe Disney owes more hours to the guest, that's all. I believe they get to set their hours just like any other business does. I wouldn't complain about hours at Disney any more than I would for Target. Or if a Movie Theater doesn't show a movie at a time that suits me. I'm sure no one else would either. What makes Disney different in that people think more hours are to be expected?

As someone who mentioned the hours last year for comparison sake, I wanted to respond to these. I definitely am not riled up, just sharing the facts and how it is different than the past. Disney does not owe me anything but in regards to referring back to the past isn't that how things typically work? If you went to Target last 4th of July, wouldn't you typically think the holiday hours would be the same this 4th of July? If they weren't would you be riled up about it? Probably not but would you maybe mention it to someone who could relate? Possibly.

Ironically, I am not even going to be there on the 4th of July this year so I absolutely have no reason at all to be riled up (again, I am not). I was just mentioning the difference and trying to tell the poster they should appreciate the fact last night's closing was at 11pm since the 4th of July (also what could be considered a busy day) is set for a 10pm close.

Your feedback is sincerely appreciated. Have a Magical Day!

Disney can't do everything and be everything to everyone all the time. I understand being frustrated with waiting in line. I understand thinking it's ridiculous that people get frustrated waiting in line during the more crowded months. I see both sides of this.

I want the parks to open at 5am because that's when I'm up and most energetic, but I have to accept that isn't going to happen. :lmao: Others need to accept that the park won't always stay open till midnight or 1am. It's disappointing, but that's life. :confused3

At least folks know there is a extremely good chance the July hours will change. About 99% I'd say.
But, I still say, people can't plan expect anything based on last year, only on what is announced this year.
That is very frustrating though. It does make it hard to plan. It is on the list of things I dislike about their decisions this year. I wish they would announce the hours and leave them there. Stop this screwing around with announcing A and making them B. Just plan them and set them. And be done.

Of course there are people who complain constantly. There are also those who practically exhale pixie dust when they talk about Disney. Those extremes are inevitable on every forum.

However most people who fall somewhere in the middle might have valid points but others often just don't listen. WDW has flaws and they are increasing. I feel pretty confident that my opinion is right as we all do. I intend to discuss what I see as these flaws and I will go back to (at least two of) the Disney parks when I can. I am not pleased with hearing about shorter hours even if the historic longer hours aren't guaranteed.

We're going at the end of August and MK is only scheduled to be open until 10 currently except for one extra magic hour night, I wish it was open until 11 as regular hours. I love staying at the park until after midnight but it looks like that isn't going to happen this year unless they make schedule changes before we leave.

i'm more saying that i'd rather be at WDW than at work....

keep on an eye on the schedule as it will probably change.
