MK very crowded tonight, but hey let's close at 11:00

I'm sure most of us here want to go when we have grandkids. I just think we all have different breaking points in feeling like we get enough value for the dollars spent to justify going back.
I can't wrap my head around DVC right now just thinking about what these parks will be like by the time I have grandkids in 15-20 years.

But you agreed with a group of people advising another group of people to not plan for non existent hours when as far as I know nobody was actually making plans around said non existent hours.

I can't speak for all posters on this thread but I surely didn't plan for non existing hours.
You expected non-existing hours to become park hours. You keep griping and snarkng because even though you knew the actual official park hours while planning, you expected hours to be added based on what happened last year. No business should be expected to do any specific thing based on that they did that thing twelve months ago.

Please don't put words in my mouth that I did not say.

We are talking about planning.

I never made "plans" for any park based on previous years hours.

Thank you.

So then there is no planning for hours that do not exist?

Who exactly is planning for these non existent hours?

That was your post.

My apologies Im just trying to learn who specifically was making plans around hours that never existed.

So there were absolutely no hours at all posted for the day you were so miserable in MK? When you looked at the operating hours it was completely blank? No. You know perfect well that I meant if it said MK was open that day from 9am until 11pm, then THAT'S WHAT YOU SHOULD HAVE PLANNED FOR, and not that they'd stay open another hour or two because it was busy just because that's what happened in the past.

No need to shout.

I PLANNED FOR 9 AM TO 11 PM, BUT ACTUALLY THE PARK OPENED AT 8 AM.

I'LL BE HAPPY TO SHARE MY ENTIRE DAYS SCHEDULE THAT I PLANNED BASED UPON THOSE HOURS IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO SEE IT INCLUDING FP TIMES, BREAK/MEAL TIMES AND ADDITIONAL FP TIMES.

THANKS AGAIN!

From Josh on June 2nd regarding changes in June's operating hours:

Disney made a round of updates to the June operating schedule today. They have still not confirmed nighttime entertainment or showtimes for Rivers of Jungle Book for June, though the Park is staying open until 11pm nightly. At Magic Kingdom, a second Electrical Parade has been added on the majority of days. Interestingly, on some of the busier days of the month, they extended the close to 12am but didn’t add a second Electrical Parade, which is kind of interesting. Unlike last year, when we saw 13 regular 8am opens, there are currently no regular 8am opens this year. The Park also closes at 11pm every night except for four. Last year it never closed earlier than 12am and was open until 1am on seven nights. At Hollywood Studios, it looks like the Star Wars fireworks will be scheduled on just 13 nights over the course of the month. You may remember that they were nightly from January 1 – April 30 before moving to four nights each week in May. Those that want to see the fireworks may need to switch their schedule around though the show is typically scheduled on days that were expected to be busier. Obviously most days with the later close and fireworks will be busier than days with an earlier close without fireworks.

Feel free to go to the site and read the unhappy comments about the lack of hours and changing the schedule in June for June.

This will make the crowded parks even more crowded.

I am ready for the "if you don't like the hours, then don't go"
or the "you know the hours and need to plan ONLY for those hours"
or the uber-obvious, "its summer of course the parks are crowded" comments.

I am aware that my post adds nothing to the conversation.

I believe you! But because the hours were less than last year the parks had more people per hour than last year and if you aren't happy about it I don't blame you.

1) I fall under if you aren't happy about it don't go. I just hang around for the time when the parks turn around (or back) to a more enjoyable visit. I gave up my PAP and am now free to move about the country.

2) The problem is not just planning for those hours, if they change EMH days (which they did) it vastly changes the recommended parks. FP+ makes it much more difficult to be flexible with park days and really hard to fit in weather appropriate water parks.

3) I don't know how this summer is shaping up crowd-wise but last year the crowds were up 8% so every year gets more and more crowded.

4) You missed one "go during the slow times of year " which isn't possible for everyone AND the "slow" times are less "slow" than they used to be.

Posters concerned because this year's hours don't match or exceed last year's hours, while not making specific plans for hours not released, have the clear expectation that hours should or will match previous years. If such expectations didn't exist, there wouldn't be such angst when hours aren't expanded.

Thanks.

Let me know if you have any additional questions.

As they have always in past years kept up with the crowds and with the price increases more people are feeling less value.
