Hi everyone,
My family of 4 adults and a teen will be at Disney July 14th,15th,and 16th for the first time. I want to ride the rides in close proximity to one another before moving on to the next section as much as possible. I also want to make sure my fast passes make sense based on both location and popularity. We are having lunch at Cosmic rays and dinner at the plaza at 7:35. We likely won't be back for some time so I want to include as much as possible, without a lot of back and forth between lands in MK. Can you guys please help me come up with a order to my touring that makes it easy to get to cosmic rays around lunch? Also, can you guys edit times for me and give me an idea of what first fast passes/times should be? This order was suggested to me before I realized you had to have an ADR for BOG lunch. So, now we will be at cosmic rays for lunch. Our current fast passes are listed below. I would really appreciate any help you can give me. July 14th is our MK day. Thank you so much!

Day 1
Splash at 9-10
Thunder mountain railroad 10-11
Space mountain 11:15- 12:15
additional fast passes after lunch at cosmic rays

Frontierland/Liberty Square
Splash, standby (at 9ish)
BTMRR, standby (at 9:30ish)
Haunted Mansion, standby (at 9:45ish)

Fantasyland
7DMT FP+ for 9:30-10:30 (at 10:15ish)
Small World & Mickey's Philharmagic, standby
Peter Pan FP+ 10:30-11:30 (at 11:00ish)
Pooh & Under the Sea, standby

Tomorrowland
Space Mountain FP+ 12:30-1:30
Grab a FP for Buzz
Buzz Lightyear with FP (grab another for Jungle Cruise)
Carousel of Progress... Monsters... Stitch.... standby
Head to Adventureland to use next FP

Adventureland
Use FP to ride Jungle Cruise
Magic Carpets & Tiki Birds, standby

Thank you!

Wait, I'm confused, but it might be me, since I'm up after 3:30am because I cannot sleep because I was a twit and had caffeine when I knew I shouldn't have. Are you saying your first three FP+ are Splash 9-10, BMT 10-11 and SM 11:15-12:15?
It says additional fastpasses, that plus the way it's listed with the times looks like those 3 are fastpasses.
Then you're trying to get additional FP+ for 7DMT, PP, Buzz and JC .... For around those times? If that is the case, I don't think you're going to be able to do that and get those things you want with those time frames like that. Especially things like Mine Train and PP. What time were you going to try and fit in the lunch?
You are scheduled up until 1:30 with rides. I think you're trying to cram in too much.

You won't need fastpasses for 9-10 am. If you keep that general order, that's good for less walking and you could get your original 3 FP+ as 7Dmt, PP and SM.

Sorry if I am reading this totally wrong.

I'm taking it to mean that you currently have 3 FP reservations for 7DMT, Peter Pan, and Space Mountain, and you'd like to get FPs for Buzz and Jungle Cruise. I seriously doubt that your plan to get a Buzz FP and use it right away in July will work out (unless you have something special), so I would have lunch at Cosmic Ray's after Space Mountain. I suggest waiting until you've completed all FPs because those times are set. Summer CS lunch can take a while between long lines, finding a table, and just wanting to soak up as much AC as possible. I'd hate to see you sit down to your lunch only to realize you have 5 mins. to get to a FP. Also, anything in Tomorrowland as well as the Pooh ride is convenient to Ray's.

Based on another post you made, I'm going to amend my previous post. You currently have FPs for Splash, Thunder, and Space. Is this correct?

If so, please understand that you will be crossing the park first thing to get from Thunder to Space in the morning. If you can, I'd recommend moving your Space FP to later in the day if your priority is not crisscrossing the park.

You will not be able to get a lot more FPs beyond your initial three during the day in July. Your same-day FPs will be only what's left, so a FP for 7DMT is not going to happen, especially in the morning. If 7DMT is a priority for you, then I'd recommend using it as one of your three FPs if you can schedule one now. You'll have to take whatever time you get, so be prepared to crisscross the park to get the the ride.

Remember also that you have to go to designated kiosks in the park to get additional FPs, so some travel out if your way will happen each time you want a same-day FP (you can only get them one at a time).

To answer your Cosmic Ray's question, any time you are in Tomorrowland or around the Pooh/teacups/raceway, you are close to Cismic Ray's and should stop in for lunch.

Hi again,
I currently have fast passes for splash,Thunder, and space. However, I will amend those passes and times in order to avoid crisscrossing the park as much. What I am needing is help with which lands I should visit in what order taking into account lunch at cosmic rays. Also, Suggestions of what to fast pass in that area/times for suggested fast passes would be very helpful. Sorry for the confusion. I hope this helps clear things up. I appreciate all of the help. Thank you!

If I were you, I would set up FP + for Splash Mountain for early morning, Space Mountain for Midday and 7DMT for afternoon to evening (because thats probably all thats left). And keep to those areas for those parts of the day.
Rope Drop to 11am:
BTMRR
splash with FP
Jungle Cruise
Magic Carpet
SF treehouse
TS Island
Haunted Mansion

11am-3pm:
Take train from behind Splash Mountain to the Fantasyland stop and take the back path by the speedway into tomorrow land.
Space Mountain FP
Buzz
Lunch
Astro Orbiter
Monsters Inc.
anything else in this area

3pm-7:00pm:
Catch parade (or skip it to take advantage of slightly lower wait times)
Head to Fantasyland
7DMT FP
IaSW
Peter Pan (try to get a 4th FP for this one)
Pooh
Under the Sea

Dinner

If you have 1 day for MK I would suggest planning your 3 FP+ with one major ride from each part of MK and for each part of the day. Hopefully this makes sense. It is July so you probably won't get the greatest return times for FP beyond the first 3 anyways. We are doing this similarly in September but we are there for longer which is makes limiting the walking a bit easier. I get where you're coming from. I wouldn't want to go back and forth with my 4 year olds so sectioning off the park makes sense.

Ok, maybe it's just me, lol, but I'm still really confused.

In particular, by this:
"Day 1
Splash at 9-10
Thunder mountain railroad 10-11
Space mountain 11:15- 12:15
additional fast passes after lunch at cosmic rays

Frontierland/Liberty Square
Splash, standby (at 9ish)
BTMRR, standby (at 9:30ish)
Haunted Mansion, standby (at 9:45ish)"

You have a fp for splash for 9-10 and one for Thunder from 10-11, but then you have both listed as standby. Does that mean you're planning on riding both rides twice? MK opens at 8am that day (I'm assuming you're planning on arriving after rope drop then?) so I think just assuming you'll get 2 rides on Splash withing a half hour or less (arriving at 9ish) might be just a little ambitious considering the ride itself takes 11 min, plus getting through the line each time. The park will already have been open for an hour. And then you are going to ride Thunder twice? Once at 9:30ish and then go back to it for the fp+ window?

The times you have estimated for 7DMT and Peter Pan fp's you just need to completely throw out. You won't be able to get a 4th fp until you have used your last original one, which would be the Space fp from 11:15-12:15. Given how popular 7DMT is, I think you'd be very lucky to get any fp for it at all, day of, and would most likely be because of a lucky cancellation. If 7DMT is a must I'd recommend trying to get there to be inside the park by rope drop (8am opening, so arriving at the gates around 7:20ish) and heading straight to it. Either that or try late at night, close to closing. They tend to inflate wait times to discourage people from getting in line so close to closing. However, as long as you're in the line by 11:59:59pm (closes at midnight) you'd be fine.

You will not need the FP for Splash at 9:00. It will be walk-on.

We last visited Thanksgiving week 2014 (so, busy). We went straight to BTMRR, rode twice (walk-on) and then to Splash, rode once (walk-on). Could have ridden it again. It was a ghost town because of the stampede for SDMT and A&E. I don't know if they always do it this way, but for us, unless the rides got up to a certain wait time, there was no FP line, everyone just went in the stand-by line. So if you have a FP for something where you don't need one, you will be wasting a FP. It won't even get used. Now, if this happens, you *should* be able to change it even after the fact to something else.

I don't think anything, other than SDMT or A&E will need a FP for 9:00. ETWB might need one for 9:30 or 9:50 ... haven't done that attraction, so others, please chime in. I know the waits climb fast. Oh, and Peter Pan. Those waits climb fast.

There's no way to know what's going to be available for 4th FP, so I would throw that out of the picture. If you're able to find some good availability, view that as serendipity and change your plans accordingly. I know some have reported good 4th (and 5th and 6th) FP availability. I *think* that's in slower times, though. I guess what I'm saying is it's a risk to blow all your FPs early (in the hopes of scoring a 4th), when really, that's the best time to be riding standby. It's a judgment call, but I'm pessimistic by nature, and I would rather ride standby all morning and then use my (guaranteed) FPs later.

Your order of rides overall looks good to me, but you may get hungry before you make it over to Tomorrowland. FWIW, we always eat at Columbia Harbor House.

Hi!

Hooray for your upcoming trip!! The first time is so special no matter the age. We will be at the MK on the 15th...I'll have a lime green Mickey head on my bag with my screen name on it, so if you see it yell out a hello!

We are summer travelers and I don't like to criss cross the park either!

I've quickly read over some of the other responses, but I'm going to go ahead and chime in with my two cents, because we always manage to get a lot done early in the day.

Are you dead set on eating at Cosmic Ray's? I ask simply because there are other places I would recommend based on where you find yourself in the park after your early morning touring. Here is what we did for our first MK day last year:

rope drop at 9am (on your days it will be an 8am opening)
buzz (walk on)
meet stitch
space mtn (walk on)
dumbo (walk on)
meet Ariel (minimal wait)
FP 7DMT
meet Gaston
It's a Small World (minimal wait)
FP Peter Pan
11am lunch at BOG

Philharmagic
met Fairy Godmother
stand by haunted mansion (longish wait, 35 min)
Dole whip break :thumbsup2
FP Splash Mountain
Festival of Fantasy Parade
Set up a new FP for after dinner (pirates at 7:25-8:25)
Back to resort to swim

If you aren't taking midday breaks, you could get your 4th FP for sooner than evening, obviously. I disagree with the PP who said you will not be able to get a 4th during the day in July. That's the opposite of our experience. Last summer, in early Aug with level 9 crowds, we were able to get multiple extra FPs if we wanted them for whatever we were looking for. Now, we weren't looking for the mountains though. But for Jungle Cruise, haunted mansion, Winnie the Pooh, Ariel, etc...we were able to get them with immediate return times, or at least reasonable return times. Keep in mind, we were very flexible and not touring the parks commando style.

As for food, if you find yourself hungry and you're not near Cosmic Ray's, Sleepy Hollow has good waffle sandwiches and Columbia Harbour House is our favorite QS.

If you start in Frontierland, you'll be able to walk on Big Thunder and Splash first thing. If you start on that side, I also recommend doing Jungle Cruise early too, because the line for that can get long and for some reason, to me at least, it's the worst line to wait in. I feel like it is neverending, lol!!

Something that can be helpful as far as seeing someone's real life experiences, is to go read through trip reports for the time period last year that you are going THIS year. It's a good way to get an idea of what things will be like.

I hope you all have an amazing vacation! Just try to stay relaxed and don't push yourself beyond your limits. Don't forget to take in the atmosphere and really just appreciate where you are.

Safe travels!! pixiedust:pixiedust:
