MK to DTD

How can I get to Downtown Disney from the Magic Kingdom? is there a bus, or do I have to go to a resort first? Thanks.

You need to go to a resort first. Either:
Walk to the Contemporary and take the DTD bus from there, or
From the MK take the SSR bus and walk to DTD from the Congress Park stop.

Or (might take a little longer but might be easier on your feet) take a but to any other resort (suggest Caribbean Beach, Pop Century or Port Orleans) and transfer to a bus to Downtown Disney.
