MK on Thanksgiving eveinng ....?

I know that Thanksgiving day is one of MK's busiest, most crowded days of the year,
we go every year in the morning for breakfast in the castle, and then leave MK right away as the crowds pour in...

since MGM will not have osbourne lights this year, (our usual tradition...) we are drumming around the idea of possibly going to MK that night,
we wouldnt get to MK til around 7:00 pm, would we be able to even get in?
We are staying on property at the YC, and have AP's,

but ...still, will the park be closed due to being filled to capacity?

wondering if we should go to plan B, DTD and not even bother trying to get in to MK.

If the crowds are horrendous, we are okay with that, we wont plan on going on any rides, just soak up the atmosphere of Main street is enough for us!

so, will we be able to get into MK in the evening?????

It's a very "iffy" situation. Two times we have been at MK on Thanksgiving Day and it has been closed for occupancy reasons. I would think that perhaps some people would clear out, but then again one never knows. We never hit MK on Thanksgiving Day anymore and spend the evening at MGM or Epcot for the Illuminations. Fortunately this year we were able to get an Illuminations Cruise for Thanksgiving Evening. I would steer clear of MK if you can help it! Good Luck!

We are considering basically the same thing. We have PS at 'Ohana at 6:30 then we thought about going over to MK for Wishes and the late Spectro. We don't care about the rides, either. We just like the atmosphere of the MK at the holidays. Of course, we had planned on Osbourne Lights, but............
Anyway, I think we may attempt MK. If it is too swamped we will head back to FTW and just enjoy a quiet evening.

Yeah, we are sort of planning the same type thing...we're spending Thanksgiving Day at Epcot, then planning on leaving Epcot before IllumiNations (we will be seeing it earlier that week) and heading over to MK just for the 2nd Spectromagic.

Our thought is that there will be a few different mass exoduses that night -

1. Right after the first Spectromagic
2. Right after the fireworks
3. Right after the second Spectromagic
4. Park closing

We are planning to come into the park between the 1st & 2nd exodus...so hopefully it won't be so bad. If it is, we'll just head back to the resort and get some extra sleep. No problem - it's our last park day, so we will have seen everything on our Must Do list by then.
