We are planning week long stay at AKL and were planning on going to MK on Easter Sunday. Is this a bad idea? Will the crowds be huge? What would you recommend?

Run run as fast as you can away from MK on Easter Sunday.

I would suggest the same . . .although I do think its probably something everyone should experience. ;)

We were at WDW Easter 2000 and MK was wall to wall people. Needless to say, we stayed clear of MK until the following day.

I am definately not an "elbow to elbow" kinda person.:D

MK on Easter Sunday? Think GRIDLOCK. We did it last year for a few minutes and hightailed it back to EPCOT.

This year we already have our PS at Boma's on Easter Sunday and plan on being pooside the rest of the day at Stormalong Bay!

We're having dinner at Boma's on Easter Sunday too at 7pm. :)

Between checking into OKW, Hunting for Eggs, Going to Church and supermarket shopping, I don't know how much free time we'll have but I have Epcot penciled in on my schedule for that day.

Have a good trip!!

On Easter Sunday MK often gets to capacity and other parks tend to have their lightest day of the holiday season then (still very crowded at those parks but lighter in comparison to other days during that very crowded season). One thing to understand: absolutely nothing goes on at MK on Easter Sunday that does not also occur the other days of that holiday season. For example, the "Easter" parade, which is simply the daily parade at 3 with some Easter themed floats added, goes on during the entire week leading up to Easter.

Hi, I'd guessed the main theme parks would be mega busy on the Sunday, and was contemplating going to Blizzard Beach, half day and maybe downtown for the afternoon. Does anyone know if shops are open Easter Day, or would it be a complete waste of time? Thanks
:)

If I'd bothered with one of those countdown clocks it would be saying 19 days to go!!:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

Thank you all for your help. We have decided to go to MK the Thursday before Easter instead of Easter Sunday. We think we might try Sea world instead.

Badger we are thinking the same. Seaworld on Easter Sunday. MK on thursday 4/24(pss 4 crystal palace @4) MGM on monday pss 4 Fanstamic pkg @ holly & vine, Pss 4 Chef Mickey breakfast on Tuesday thinking maybe AK afterwards,US&IOF somewhere in between.Almost forgot Epcot too.We usually do DQ on Saturday our 1st day after check in. I'm getting excited while I'm typing.

To Gilligan's question: yes, the shops in Downtown Disney are open Easter Sunday.

and MK on Monday morning??? We will be arriving on Sunday and planned to check out ASMo, the pool, then head to DTD for some shopping, eating, and DQ? Are we crazy? Wait.....don't answer that last question!
