We are going this 11/26 to 12/3. Does the MK start to empty our later in the day on Parade taping day? That is our last day there and while I don't really want to be a part of the parade taping, I would like to go later in the day to spend our last night there...

Any comments? TIA!!!

We were there for the parade taping in December and it was extrememly crowded that day. They give out free MK passes to all those in the parade, so I'm sure that added to the crowds. We were fortunate enough to get to see the parade, but then we left because it was just too crowded. I would plan on staying away from MK that day.

It is hugely crowded during the day. But, while they are filming the parade early in the day, it isn't quite so bad in the other areas of the park. After they finish up with the parade stuff, people start wandering off to do the rides. Would I avoid it that day? Perhaps, but I've been over and over and if I don't get to MK on my last day, then it's not a biggie for me. But I wouldn't be saying that if it were my first or second trip. We love to finish our stay in WDW with one last ride around on TTA.

We'll also be arriving Friday thus making our 1st park day Sat of the taping. I think I'll be debating this until we get there! Right now, I plan to go early to MK, do a few must do's leave at lunch and take a break and go back later for the parade that night or head to another park. It will be hard to resist since it is open until 11!

OK, we changed our plans. We are now arriving on Thursday so we can go to MK on Friday. Are they taping that day also?

We went to MK that Sat this past Dec. We were there when the park opened - people with passes for filming were already being lead into the park. We took several pictures of the stage set up from the train station, jumped on the train and rode it over to ToonTown. We walked the back path to Space Mt. - did Space, Buzz and Stitch - walked the path back to TT and it had just opened - there was literally not another soul in sight! - we walked right in to get pics with Mickey and Minnie and the Pooh gang. We walked around to the front of the castle to watch some of the taping from there - then back to Frontierland for Splash and BTMRR - then to HM. By 12:00 the back of the park was getting crowded and we made our way up Main St (through a hefty, but very fun, crowd) and watched some more of the Xmas parade taping and took some pics of Regis and Kelly. We were out of the park by 12:30 and on our way to GF to check out the Gingerbread house. The crowds were still pouring in the front gates and the second (afternoon) set of 'extras' were being processed and let in. If you don't want to be part of the taping, head to the back of the park early - it gets and stays very crowded as the day goes on!

The past 3 or 4 years it's been the first weekend in December, but there's no guarantee it will be then this year. We saw the taping with Regis & Kelly on a Thursday morning in 2001, they were in town all week doing their show & Millionaire.

Bumping... will the park sell out that if we leave for dinner that we can't get back in?

It doesn't get crowded enough to close the park. We went in 2004 and they moved Spectromagic and Wishes back an hour because the taping ran long. It wasn't overcrowded in the evening.

How much not overcorwded? We were planning on going to MK late, after 6. Who can resist that it is open until 11 pm? It may be our only "night" experience in the park besided MVMCP so I want to try and go then.

I was unaware of the taping of the parade? :scared: Now I'm worried when is it usually Sat and sunday? In the morning? I thought we were going at a low crowded time???????????
