I'm planning to spend early am till dinnertime at mk on a mnsshp. Do you think this is ok? give me your ideas.

pirate: Usually on a MNSSHP night, we stay at the resort and rest all day. Going to the MK on the same day makes for a very long day. I guess it also depends on the ages of the children. My DS4 was 3 last year. We stayed in the pool during the day, had a nice dinner, then headed to the party. He lasted right up until closing. We plan on doing the same this year.

I'm planning on going to MK both days that I have tickets for MNSSHP, but I am taking a dinner break, (Artist Point and Ohana,) both nights. Also, I'm going solo, and I'm only 21, so I know I'll be able to stay up that late easily. on a normal work-day I usually sleep from midnight to six, and on my days off I'll only sleep til' eight. So doing a park all day with a break, should be fine for me.

We did that on our past trip, and I felt it was a bad idea. If you can avoid it, by all means, do. We did go back to the resort to change into our costumes. We did not last long that night because we were so exhausted from our am tour. There are lots of things to do and see during MNSSHP. Characters are all over the place if you like to get pics/autorgraphs. There's also lots of trick or treat areas, the parade and especially just enjoying the atmosphere. My advice, enjoy your resort that day and rest up for the party. You will have a wonderful time. :earboy2:

what are the crowds like at the MK on a party day (through midday Parade time)? Specifically a Sunday or Thursday? Not staying for MNSSHP...moving to another park for the evening?

I think going to MK in the am on a party night is a great idea. I don't think it will be that crowded during the day.

If you want to do MK all day and then all night for the party too, I think that's a bad idea cause you will get burnt out.

I totally agree about the burnout--there are 3 MNSSHP scheduled during our trip, we have an entire day blocked of for relaxing fun before the party :teeth:

Now that I think back, we did the party on a Friday night in 2002...we were AP holders at the time. We were staying at the Contemporary, and my youngest woke up early. I remember walking over the to MK the following morning to relative quiet. One of the CMs couldn't believe we had been to the party the night before and were back so early the next day, LOL!

(my DH went back to the room early with DD from the party--she crashed pretty early!)

We are going the night we first get there. We arrive around 11am so by the time we get to the park it will be noon or 1. So that isnt that long in the park. The kids are going to be so excited that we will long drop before them.

Once we got to the MK when it opened and stayed all day. We did the Family Magic Tour, had dinner at LTT. This was on Christmas Eve. We did the afternoon parade. We did it all. It was our last full day at WDW and we were leaving the next day. We usually leave around lunch time and drive part way home and finish up the second day.

Well, we went back to the hotel about 8 or 9PM. We got our son to bed, put out the Christmas presents that we brought along and went to bed. We opened presents, ate breakfast and then decided to just drive home. We were totally worn out by the long day the day before.

That said, we never spend the entire day at a park. We spend a few hours, go for a swim or rest before heading back to the theme parks. It's more relaxing and refreshing.

We are planning to have a relaxing day at the resort and nap as long as we can that day. We are traveling with DD4 and DD1 so that is a must for us. However, depending on your circumstances you may want to enjoy the park before the party. Are you traveling with young kids? How long are you stayin? can you visit MK some other day when there is not MNSSHP?

We are going to go to MK on a MNSSHP day- but we aren't going to the party. We plan on getting there around noon, and staying until closing (6 PM), then riding the monorail over to 'Ohana for dinner. We might hang around the Poly after dinner to watch the fireworks on the beach.

We did AK on the am of MNSSHP so MK would be fresh. We did a quick tour (early entry with little, little ones) and then were back to the hotel by 2 for a rest. We went back to the MK after the 4:00 entry time for the party, had a dinner ressie at Tony's, and watched all the decorations going up, and people coming and going while we ate. It was very enjoyable and relaxing, and we didn't encounter any of the "corralling" that you hear about in the info threads.

Have fun!
