We'll be at Disney on Monday, March 15, and we just noticed the park is open until 11:00 that night. Does anyone know why that is - are there special happenings or is the park expected to be that crowded for some reason?

I'll be there during that time as well, and I just assume it's because it's Spring Break that week for some schools and a lot of colleges.

I went last year during this time (off from College), and I think the park was open til 8 or 9 at the latest and Spectro only ran once unlike the 4-5 times its running during the same week this year.

Sorry to bust anyone's bubble, but I would EXPECT LARGE crowds for Monday, March 15. Disney has always adjusted park hours on expected attendance. The longer than usual hours is what we like to call a CLUE in my profession. I know that Monday will be the day after a dance and cheerleading comp that will be taking place at the sports complex over the weekend.

Yes, the crowds will be larger due to spring breakers, but for this one day at the MK, I would avoid it if at all possible.

Note: We will be down for the same week, but we are going to US/IOA first. We were there last year after cheerleading comp's, not bad at AK, but we stayed away from MK until later in the week.

Just checked MK hrs for April - open until 11:00 pm for two weeks around Easter-I expect parks will be crowded the whole time.

We noticed the extended hours also. We are planning on going to AK until mid afternoon(Say 4ish) and then go over to MK and stay until closing in hopes that many will have been there all day and poop out.

We don't really mind the crowds too much but then again I do not want to wait for hours on things. We just thought it would be fun to ride some of the rides like BTR and SM in the dark.

Do you think things will thin out during the late afternoon and evening? Or should we go into another park. It just seems by the time we leave AK at 4Pm and travel to another park we will only get a few hours until that park closes.

Any ideas?

The hours are later the day before too. I plan on hitting Spectro Sunday night-- then staying until 11pm to ride more rides!! I think the are planning on a busy weekend/beginning of the week.
However, just this past weekend I called an added some MK PS's for dinner these days and I still had a choice of times-- so who knows.
