MK Fireworks from 'Ohana?

I have an 8:05PM ADR for 'Ohana. I want to be able to see Hallowishes from my table... would I be able to? If there are tables to see Hallowishes for should I just ask upon check-in... "Hey, I don't mind waiting a while but could we have a table that we can see the fireworks from?"

My plan is to arrive early anyway... probably around 7:30PM since I know it's a busy restaurant.

But had anyone had any luck in doing this?

TIA :goodvibes

No one knows if any form of MK fireworks can be seen from 'Ohana.... you nighttime/early morning Disers have let me down :(

Yes, you can see MK fireworks from 'Ohana. They also pipe the music in so you can hear them as well. I think they would allow the request for a window side table, depending on how many other requests there are that night. You could always try to time it so that you exit 'Ohana and watch the show from the beach.

A few things. Don't let them know you are going to wait for HalloWishes. If you arrive at 7:30 and get seated by 7:45 you are telling them that you are going to hold up that table for at least 2 hours. Not something they want to hear. I wouldn't arrive earlier than the required time. Ask if you can have a window table and that you are willing to wait. HalloWishes will not begin until about 9:30 so don't be in a rush to get seated. Depending on your party size will say what your chances are of getting a window table. Most seat 3-4.

I have never been to Ohana but am planning on going on our November trip. We will be a party of 8, do they seat parties that big or will we have to be broken up?

When we ate at Ohana (in 07), pretty much everyone that was left in the restaurant went over to the windows to watch Wishes. I'm not sure I would have even wanted my table in the middle of all those people. We stayed at our table (toward the middle of the restaurant) and saw them just fine.

I was just at Ohana last week and in December. I wasn't trying to watch Wishes either time (one was a breakfast). BUT ... someone I know just came back (she's an annual Poly visitor for many many years) and posted elsewhere not to use this as a plan anymore because quite a few trees are now blocking some of the views. I'm sure they're not blocking the entire window area, but I didn't really pay attention when we were there. Trees are definitely an issue at the Poly in different places - I know they try to cut them back, but the darn things keep growing back.

Again, a 3rd hand report, not my own.

We did have a table by the window and we were able to see Wishes just fine.
I asked when we arrived, just as you said, and we were able to get the table.
There were 7 of us & we had no problem being seated together. The tables are large.

I have also experienced this. It's all very lovely. You will hear the music from anywhere in the dining area, but there are tables that I do suspect will not have a great view. These are the tables back by the kitchen. We had front row seats and it was great. Try to ask for a view of the lake, maybe that won't tip them off that you're going to stay for Wishes.

I would recommend hanging out for it, great expereince.

By the way...I love your "I want to go to there." :lmao: 30 Rock is awesome!

If you are finished with dinner, you can always watch Wishes from the beach at the Poly. We have done both and I think I like the beach better. They also pipe in the music but the volume is low so you need to be near a speaker. You feel alittle closer to the action from the beach rather then inside 'Ohana.

We had a 9:00 ADR, checked in about 8:40-8:45 and waited only about 10 minutes. Wishes started at 10 and is was just before we were given dessert.

I agree with this even though we have had a window table during Wishes. There aren't that many tables with a perfect view, lots of posts and trees interfere. Plus, 'Ohana is a zoo during that time and an extra wait for a window table in addition to the regular ol' wait ... not worth it, imho.

I have seen Wishes from Ohana three times! They turn down the lights and pipe in the music and its nice but even nicer is running down to the beach and watching it there! My fondest memory of my honeymoon back in Sept was walking on the dock watching Wishes and hearing the music and then getting on the boat and they hd the music on there to as we made our way back to the MK! There was a nice breeze across the water and it was so romantic! Im hoping to re create this moment after dinner at Kona this yr!
