Hi all,

We are staying at Fort Wilderness Cabins in July with kids 9, 6, & 1.

Is it possible to see the MK evening fireworks from Fort Wilderness? I'm not sure my DD6 (not to mention DD1) will last for a 30-45 minute wait to get back to the cabin after the 10pm light show.

Any advice?

Thanks, Lawteach

bumping you up
I will be in FW same time. Never thought about viewing from the beach

Sorry, I wish you could, but I grew up staying at FW every year of my life for vacation and you couldn't see them. Now as a "grown-up" we like to stay at WL which is closer to MK, but you can just barely see bits over the trees from our room overlooking the pool. Have a great time!!!! I miss FW:(

Thanks for making me stop and remember all those magical memories!!princess:

BTW what you can see great is the light parade on the lake from FW! Your kids will love it!

Hi cooldisneymom & ILoveDiz,

Thanks for the answer, cooldisneymom. Too bad it won't work. I am planning on the Floating Electrical Pageant and on the Campfire at FW. Perhaps I should count that enough and not try for the fireworks until my kids are older. BTW, I am an Atlanta native, tho I now live in Oz.

ILoveDiz--forgive my ignorance, but, being new to the Boards, what does 'bump' mean?

Cheers,

Lawteach :wave2:

What about taking the boat over the the Contemporary for the fireworks. I believe they pipe the music in to the deck on the 4th floor. You wouldn't have to fight the crowds at Magic Kingdom and after it is over you can take the boat back to Fort Wilderness.

hey lawteach,
not sure if you can see the fireworks from the beach at fw but if you take the boat over to the contemporary you could go up to the observation deck at california grill...i know, people will say that they are no longer letting people up there unless you have ressies for the restraunt but we have done it several times and have never been asked anything by anyone...besides, it will give you a good excuse to explore the contemporary...
have fun!!!!

As newer posts and threads are made, the older ones drop down to the bottom of the page.

By posting bump, it sends the thread back to the top so others can see it. :) (You don't have to post bump - any post will send it back....bumping is just the term that's used)

Yes, you can see the fireworks from the beach at FW. We do this every trip. When the fireworks are at 10 p.m. we just hang around for a couple of minutes after the EWP and enjoy! You will see them over the tops of the trees so you may not see all the bursts, but you can enjoy them.

Come on over to the DIS camping board if you have any more FW questions.

Yes Lawteach, you can see all the high elements of Wishes from the FW beach. You can just see the tops of the castle-high bursts behind some of the WL trees. There's no music, but many folks enjoy staking our loungers and chairs and watching the fireworks from the FW beach. We could even see them from our site in the 1500 loop if we stood on our picnic table!

The electric water parade is fun too!
