BF and I decided not to do MK this trip (I know, I know: sacrilege!). However, because our flight doesn’t leave MCO until 6:00 p.m. on 9/21, and we’ll still have a day left on our park ticket, we thought we might as well do a little MK that day.

We’ll be staying at POFQ. I understand check-out is at 11:00 a.m. I suspect we won’t actually exit our room till that time, and then we’ll have to go to Bell Services to leave our luggage. Therefore, I expect we won’t get to MK until 12:00-12:30. We’re using ME, so I expect we’ll be asked to be on the bus at 3:00, meaning we’ll have to leave MK at, what? 2:15? 2:30? Earlier? So, I’m looking at 1 hr., 45 mins. to 2.5 hours at MK.

The two rides we really want to do are Haunted Mansion (it was closed when we were there in 2002) and that Buzz Lightyear ride where BF got 47 squizillion points and I got, like, 23. If there’s time, I’d like to see Philharmagic (which I somehow missed in 2002 … or maybe it just didn’t exist yet). Anything else we manage to fit in will be gravy.

So, give me the benefit of your expertise, please! What would your game plan be? In what order would you do these attractions? Would you FastPass any of them? Are we naive to think we can do all three (or at least just HH and Buzz) in the little time we have? Help, help, help!

TIA! :wizard:

No advice on an actual itenaray, but I will tell you that if you're using ME you'll have to check your bags earlier anyway. They slide a note under your door and tell you what time you have to check the bags and meet up with the bus. My sister checked her bags at 8am and then went to the parks with no problem.

Definately try it. I would spend every last second I could in WDW. When you get there head over to Buzz for a FP then head over to HM. Your time should be up for Buzz by then if not try and go to MP then Buzz. Have a great trip. You'd be suprised what you can fit in 2 1/2 hours.

The only advice I'd give is try, try, try to get out of your room and going to MK a little earlier. If you get out of the room just 1 hour earlier, you will have no problem doing what you want at MK, and maybe something else.

Thanks, milmore104. That's exactly what I needed! :goodvibes

momofkatie: I know, I know! Would that we could get out of the room earlier, but I just know it ain't a'gonna happen. I spend too much packing and repacking and repacking ... it takes at least three tries to get everything to fit properly in my suitcase!

I agree with this, it should work. Walk through Fantasyland on your way to HM. Check out the time for Philharmagic, you may be able to walk right in (it happened to us last week), then head to HM then back to Buzz. If there is a wait for Philharmagic, head to HM and check back on your way back to Buzz.

Good Luck!

I would definitely hit Phillarmagic!!! It's the best 3-D show I have ever seen!! I would go and get a FP for Buzz go over to Phillarmagic and see that, and then if you still have time before you FP time go to HM(that line always moves pretty quickly). Then go to Buzz. Since Buzz is closest to the entrance you'll probably do less back tracking that way.

Do most of your packing the night before, just leaving out what you need for the night and the next morning. Get out of the room as early as you can and check your bags. Also, ask to be picked up at one of the monorail resorts by ME instead of your own resort. That will give you an extra hour or so. If you have a carryon, stick it in a locker or check it at bell services at whatever hotel you choose to be picked up at.

well, when exactly are you going? according to your countdown, you'll be there in 30 days, which means you'll be there in september. with kids in school, lines should be relatively short. so, being that it sounds like you'll be there in september, get a FP to a ride that you really really want to do: like buzzlight year space ranger spin or haunted mansion. try to see the new cinderellabration show, if show times happen to fall during your brief visit to MK.

Hey, legalslave. This sounds like when I check my bags with Bell Services, they will know to put my bags on the (let's say) 3:00 bus to MCO ... that I don't have to go back to Bell Services to retrieve my bags before getting on the bus myself. Is that correct? If so, that's fab!

(P.S. What kind of legal slave are you? I'm a legal secretary. Slave, slave, slave!)

I think my answer may have been too broad. The answer is yes, you can check your luggage at the resort airline check in desk in the am and it will be taken to the airport IF you are on a participating airline. You can also check in for the airline and get your boarding pass in the am. If you are not with a participating airline, you WILL need to retrieve your bags from bell services and get them on the bus.

Hope you're on one of these participating airlines: American, Delta (including Song) United (including TED), Continental and JetBlue.

If not, sorry - I didn't mean to be misleading - up too late, I guess.

I am a legal assistant, which is just a glorified legal secretary (not quite a paralegal).

okay I'm a little commando but I'd pack the night before. Check out at 8-9am and have bags checked to ME. I'd be MK by 10am. But okay if you can't do that. I'd head into tomorrowland. Get FP for buzz (if wait time is less than 15 min I'd ride & get FP for later). Ride TTA head up to tea cups. See philharmagic. Head back ride buzz if FP. Then IASW & head to HM twice. I'd get a FP for Splash - eat at Peco's bills. hit splash - then hit POC. Hit the shops on Main street & emporium then head out. :rotfl:
Hope you didn't want to take it easy did ya? :dog2: :paw:

Dang. I'm on Alaska Airlines. Oh, well.

Hmmm ... I think I'd rather be deified than glorified. :teeth:
