MK electrical parade and wishes

I am okay with this move if they at least bring something new in the future as a nighttime parade. I remember MSEP from my younger years and then Spectro for my adult years before they brought MSEP back. When they brought back MSEP in place of Spectro it was always supposed to be temporary. I am really hoping for something new.

I'm sad it is leaving. It was the parade that was there for my CP. I saw it a lot so it holds a lot of memories. I'm mostly upset that there is no nighttime parade slated to replace it. I understand times change, new things replace the old. I am not ok with the MK not having a nighttime parade. I feel like a nighttime light parade is one of the things that makes the MK, the MK.

I would be very disappointed if there was no nighttime parade at MK. Maybe with the holidays approaching, they will just use the Halloween and Xmas parades as the parades in the evening, even on the non-party nights. That would get them through the end of the year.

Then less people would be buying party tickets, not going to happen. I would be ticked if I paid close to $100 for a party ticket and then the "exclusive" parade was shown on other nights.

Disneyland has gone through periods of no night parade or fireworks.

I can understand that nostalgia is a big thing for people, but as someone who didn't see the parade for the first time until she was 28 (in 2014), I was very struck by how dated it looked. Then I saw the footage of Paint the Night from DL and without the nostalgia factor it feels like the MSEP is the poor brother compared to it.

Personally, I think it's time for something new.

I'm a DLR'er and grew up on MSEP. And while I saw it at both DCA and MK, it was never the same in either of those venues - it's home for me is at DL. Obviously tons of nostalgia is involved. It's the one thing, of everything I could wish to be returned to DL (think PeopleMover, a really great Tomorrowland, Country Bears, etc.), that I would have always, unquestionably put at the top of my wish list. Until PTN that is.

PTN let me put my MSEP longing to rest. It's just that wonderful. And the homage to MSEP in PTN makes it that much more perfect. The parade is spectacular and happy and nostalgic all rolled into one. And it even sorta restored some faith in Disney for me - that they can still make new magic.

If I was a Worlder, I would be fervently hoping PTN goes East.

Is there a chance after a run in DL it'll come back to WDW in 2017?
Might be a sneaky way to get more people into DL AND WDW when it makes a triumphant return to the MK.

I think the Magic Kingdom will get something. Butt I think there's no chance they send that parade all the way to the West Coast and bring it right back.

Definitely agree. I'm shocked they're even shipping MSEP back to the West in the first place. I wouldn't be surprised if this isn't the parade's final run, even if it isn't as "limited time" as billed.

Nope, Disney wouldn't cannibalize its party ticket sales like that. They start showing the Christmas party parade during the day only after the parties end in mid-December each year.

Disney is very sneaky in the way they word things...this is what Disney says:
"At this time, there are no plans to bring “Paint the Night” to Walt Disney World Resort."
Also, some CM (that work with entertainment and floats storage) have said that PtN is coming to WDW but not until next year, maybe April...so until we hear a definite no or a yes we really don't know

Agree on the non-committal wording. Plenty of WDW CMs were told it was coming. There is even tangible proof backstage that has no other purpose but PTN. Some were actually told that DL was caught off-guard and raised quite the stink ... which may have changed any announcement.

same thing I'm hearing...it just stinks that we are left without a night parade for half of a year, during the busy holiday season

DL was off guard?? Why? Did DLR plan on keeping both MSEP and PTN? Who wanted MSEP back in DL? DLR or WDW? If this is all true, why didn't they finish the announcement that night and when might we get one?
Anything point to MK looking into running FOF at night for now? Nothing on the calendar yet for after Oct. 9th.

Just had a chat with a CM asking about MSEP for Wed. 8/31. Could not find any time scheduled. CM said there will be no parade that night. Happens to be Extra Magic night. There are many dates end of August, early Sept. when no times scheduled for MSEP. Will there be no nighttime parade on this dates? Anybody know?

last week i was speaking with a cm who seemed pretty knowledgeable about disney in general over the years. i asked about the absence of a night time parade this fall as well as fireworks and she said, it's disney, there will be a parade and fireworks. then i asked, if they were to move paint the night, would it take weeks/months to move/transition/train for wdw? she said absolutely not , that the cm's would already be trained and it would only take a couple of days to move it cross country. could this possibly be accurate info? btw, this cm was in IT and had been with disney for quite a while. she said she follows all the discussion on social media and knows that people are very interested in what will happen, but she stuck with her opinion on all this. what does everyone think?

Well, hope your CM is more in the know than the one I chatted with. Disney supposedly making moves to reduce costs but can't believe there will be no nighttime parade at MK. Guess will just have to keep checking.
