Have any solos done this?

I have booked but now I'm having doubts, feel comfortable eating elsewhere (and have some great ADRs booked) but just not sure about this.

I never did it but if you feel comfortable eating alone then why not this. It's buffet style. Might be nice to have a few yummies and a good seat for fireworks.

Hi ClareH37. Check out the thread here. Shows dates and Dis'ers going when to Wishes Dessert Party.

I think that the Aussies in my party will be going on 9 May, Mother's Day (I haven't told them yet - I booked as a surprise). So, you can either join us or avoid us :):) Should be safe either way....no Ashes test match on.

That's the main pull I think, eating some yummies whilst not staking a space for ages before.

Thanks, sounds like a fun bunch but unfortunately I've already got other plans that night - mind you, always fun to talk about the Ashes ;)

Hi Clare!

Hey, you're staying BWI CL just like I always do. Isn't it great? :)

I recommend the MK Dessert Party solo because when I did it (granted I was with my parents), there were a lot of empty tables and we didn't interact with anyone or really even each other much. We just enjoyed people watching (er, scrambling for a good viewing areas), taking lots of pictures from an angle you can't otherwise find, and actually viewing the fireworks from a very cool spot on a railing with NO ONE in front of you and Tink flying RIGHT over you.

Plus the food is really good and you can have as much as you want. Plus if you're like myself or my dad, you can accost a CM with questions and make a friend that way.

Have fun!

I love the BWI CL, I'm getting more excited by the day at the thought of being very self indulgent and doing things like ordering room service for breakfast :goodvibes

The more I'm thinking about the more I'm thinking I will keep with the MK dessert party, the view sounds fantastic.

i booked the dessert party for my solo trip to and i'm so excited! ill be there may 4

Be sure to report back here how it is. I'm also going to be solo about that time, but May 4 is the day I fly home.:sad1: I have another solo trip in October and thinking of doing it then.

I just booked the dessert party for next week April 13 and I am going solo. I am a little nervous as this is the first buffet style/sit down restaurant I am doing solo. I am excited though to go and be able to see the fireworks since I hear this is a great place to see it.

Hi Jenscourt. I actually arrive on the 13th in the morning. This sounds like a lot of fun. Where would I call and what would I ask for when making a reservation? Did you have to pre-pay for this reservation? Sounds like a great way to start off the trip to me.

I just called the Disney Reservations line (407-WDISNEY) and asked to make a reservation for the MK Dessert Party. You do have to pre-pay...it's $24 or $25 with taxes included. The 13th is my first day as well and was excited to hear I could still get a reservation :woohoo: but I would call soon because I guess it tends to fill up quickly but don't quote me on that one. Maybe I'll see you there.

I have not been there solo but I have with some friends and it was a blast! I LOVED it.. I think that it would be fun even solo. You would be able to relax, look at the beautiful castle and just reflect on the day! Ithink it is going to be great!

I did the MK Dessert Party solo during my trip last October. I had a great time, and was able to strike up a conversation with the table next to me. I think thye felt bad that I was eating by myself. However, I find that the servers are more attentive when you are solo, making sure you have everything you need adn what not. So I highly suggest it! And the view for Wishes is pretty good too.

Did you have a reserved Table for 1, or were others at your table. And I'm encouraged by the fact that you did this in the month of October. That's the month that I'm considering doing it this year. I'm really hoping that they're still doing it then. How far ahead of time did you have to book?

I did this on Easter. I had my own table in the front. It was fine.

The desserts are good (although I'm not sure I would do it again)

I had a reserved table for one. I booked as soon as they announced the dates were open here on the DIS. They fill up really fast on the party nights, I was there for MNSSHP. It was so much fun and would definitely do it again. In fact, I'll be doing it this coming Sunday with my friend who is going on vacation with me. But if I were going solo on this trip I would have done it anyways. You'll have fun!

Well, I wasn't able to get in for Tuesday, but I will be going Wednesday night. It should be a lot of fun. :goodvibes

I'm so glad to see this thread! I'm going solo in June and am thinking about doing the Wishes Dessert by myself on June 24th. I was wondering how it would be to go to this solo.

Well, I'll find out on Wednesday. I've heard that it's not bad as a solo. The price wasn't bad either. It came out to like $28 after the tax was added in.
