MK Capacity Closure on July 3rd?

What are the odds of MK closing to passholders and resort guests on July 3rd? I'm planning on getting there @ 3 in the afternoon. I just want to make sure i can get in or i will go when they open. I have been on July 4th before and was able to enter in the afternoon but it was 6 years ago when the crowds weren't near this size.

I would search thru the boards from that time last year and see what people were reporting. But July 3 is a Friday this year. Factor that into whatever happened in 2014.

I haven't seen a phase 4 closing reported in 6 years. Even on July 4th, they usually only hit phase 3.

I think it could go either way. Being that it is a Friday night, I think the parks might be even crazier than usual.

Even so, one doesn't necessarily want to be the last sardine in the can so to speak. Arriving at MK at 3pm on Friday, July 3rd? Maybe technically you won't be turned away but Good Luck!

I would imagine the bigger issue will be a full parking lot before phases kick in with the locals having the day off. If you are coming at 3 pm in your car I would buffer time in case you are diverted to EPCOT to catch the monorail.

What's the phase 3 and phase 4 that people mentioned in this thread? Are there different types of closings?

I, too, will be keeping an eye on any possible MK closing phases on July 3. We have planned to enter the park after dinner, at around 9:00 p.m., as that night is scheduled to be EMH until 3 a.m.

DD and I want to shut the place down!! Resting, no-park day on July 4 to recover!

I have enetered MK the last 2 July 3rd's after dinner. I took a Disney boat from Ft Wilderness and a bus from Coronado Springs so I don't know if they were redirecting cars that wanted to park at MK somewhere else already. I know they did that on July 4.
