MK before park opening

We haven't been to MK since they started allowing guests in early and having the welcome show at the castle. We aren't totally gung-ho about the welcome show but do like hearing the music. We will be heading for Space Mtn so not in the throngs going to 7DMT or PP.

Is it at all enjoyable being on Main Street then or are there so many people that it is pretty much like any other time of day? I have this blissful imagining of getting a coffee and wandering leisurely around for a little bit before heading to the rope near Tomorrowland around 8:30. Is that more than I can hope for? If it is, and I just need to be prepared for walking through and joining a line, so be it. I'd just like to know ahead of time.

It's actually pretty spread out. You shouldn't have any problems. I think your plan should pretty much work. Last time I was there, my friend got coffee at Starbucks, which took about 5 minutes or so, and we were able to take our time before lining up at the Tomorrowland bridge. Most people are going to be headed to 7DMT and Peter Pan, so the crush to Space Mountain isn't even that bad.

Also note, the new Welcome Show barely has any music and certainly doesn't use the classic "Welcome, welcome, welcome" song, which I greatly miss.

The bridges don't start getting gobs of people until maybe 15 minutes before opening time. Especially if you're there right around 8, and you're going to SM, I think you'll be fine. (Just be sure to allow enough time to drink that coffee! SM is not a coffee friendly ride )

Thanks! So....pretty spread out, plenty of time to walk around, not much welcome music, line up around 8:45, no coffee cup holders on Space. Got it!
