I don't believe that MJ's body was in the casket. I think the casket was there to give people closure as it is much more of a funeral and a goodbye if there is something of symbolic value. I think the Jackson's have buried him and are not releasing the details of the location so that MJ can finally have some peace in his afterlife. I hope they are able to keep this disclosure quiet for a very long time.

I was thinking something along the lines of no one showing up for the memorial without the body being there, although many people have been streaming to Harlem for their memorials.

Yes: When they say that "they" don't know where the body is, they mean that the news media doesn't know, that the public doesn't know -- well that's okay -- we're not supposed to know. That's a family issue, not a public issue.

I don't understand the need to know where his body is??? Let the man rest in peace. Where his body is should be of no concern to anyone but his family. Why would they want to make it public where he has been laid to rest and is there any "requirement" that they do make it public???

ok, how could no one know?? they had helicopters following the car procession FROM the service. they showed the highway closed. at what point did they lose the car?
they could keep peoples mouths shut ( any in the funeral procession) what happened?

I'm pretty certin the coffin was not in the processional.

I watched the memorial service on-line through a KTLA link. After the service, the video from the helecopter outside continued to be streamed. I didn't even realize this was happening since the KTLA link was behind the window I was currently in.

It wasn't until I heard the helecopter propeller sounds which prompted me to go back to the KTLA window where I noticed they were filming all of the people coming out of Staples center. There was a conversation going on in the background of the video (in the helecopter) between what seemed like a man in the helecopter and possibly someone else who was in contact via radio--I surmise this because I only heard one voice, the voice of someone answering another's questions that I could not hear.

The voice that I could hear said, I don't know where the hurse (sp?) went. It pulled out and headed west. The camera then panned out to see if they could pick up on it. They couldn't find it, but then again, they weren't really concerned with finding it. They were more focused on waiting for the Jackson family to exit the stadium and begin the processional. The family didn't leave until about 1/2 hour after the coffin had taken off. The coffin was not part of the processional. The video streaming ended when the cars exited onto Robertson ? Drive off the highway and it was assumed they were headed to the Beverly Wilshire for a private family luncheon.

I'm glad they haven't identified where his body is. Some sicko would probably not only deface the grave but would dig up the body just out of curiosity and sickness.

I think the coffin gives a kind of closure. I'm sure there were many memorials after 911 and other tragedies where there was an "empty" coffin. It's like all the memories can be assigned a place we can visit and give homage.

If I were a family member I wouldn't want him buried in a place that the whole world knows about. I would let people believe he was buried there all the while finding a private location that only family and friends knew about.

OP here. yes I agree with many of you that "who cares' where the body is interred. the family should have their requests held.
I was just very confused since they announced all morning he was going to Forest Lawn. talk was of him being placed in a spot offlimit to visitors , like a crypt. at the least in a huge concrete vault ( maybe with alarms(?)) so he could not be dig up. remember they also had several concrete trucks at neverland after he died.
he has to be some place 'cold' being held, dontcha think?

I just thought very strange, they 'showed them loading a casket in the hearse , OUTSIDE , ( when it could have been done undercover where the other cars came out). And with all the police entourage ( the hearse just couldn't have gone off unguarded?) and helicopters that they did a switceroo someplace. with all the papparazzi around,, someone had to have seen what happened.
they surely can bury him where they want, I was just amazed no one ( media etc) knows what happened.

& doesn't his brother keep talking about they would like him interred at neverland? I am sure that has gone through several minds, the estate needs cash

My guess is that the coffin at the service was empty and while the world watched the motorcade and service his body was taken somewhere unknown to the public to be buried---quietly and discreetly

From what I have read and maybe someone in Cali can confirm this, there are a few cemeteries that Forrest Lawn owns. They were saying that he may very well be buried in Forrest Lawn, just not the Hollywood Hills area. The paperwork states Forrest Hills, but does not give the specific area. Personally, I hope that they do not release this to the public. The man never received peace while alive and maybe in death, he can finally be at peace. I feel only his family and close loved ones should be aware of where he is laid to rest.

As for the story about his brain, yes they have a SMALL portion of it. It is not the entire brain. For all the toxicology and other testing, they need to wait until this portion hardens some to be able to extract and examine it thoroughly.

I read that his brain has not been released from the coroner yet - it sounds ghoulish but that is what has been reported. It was said the family might be waiting to bury him "in whole".

I read this, too. Probably in a holding pattern right now - I doubt they'll do anything final until all the parts are back.

I wonder how they're going to handle his burial. I was watching a show on Abraham Lincoln recently. His casket was tampered with so often they had to move it and bury it in cement.

i really am not surprised it has not been buried yet.
the timing was bad, as the staples center told them they were expecting the circus & could not leave open the center for them, so they took what they could. very nice , considering the short notice on something this big.

was there no other place besides the staples center? even if they went out of town?

I think his body was in the casket too. Reports are saying that because there is an underground tunnel that runs from the Staples Center to the Nokia Theatre and back, after the Staples Center was cleared, they moved the casket through the tunnel, out the back of the Nokia Theater and into a van, not a hurst. Either they're waiting for them to put the part of his brain back in or he's been buried already in a private ceremony, most likely at Forest Lawn.

However, I have a theory!



The body was in the casket. When they left Staples, there were quite a few large vehicles leaving all at the same time. I counted one semi-truck, two cargo trucks and a few vans.

Forest Lawn HH is nice and gorgeous, but it is right up against a freeway. Forest Lawn Glendale is large, sits on top of a mountain, and has these amazing crypts and plot sizes.

Forest Lawn Glendale is a much more prestigious place to be buried and it is not very far from Staples and is kinda close to Forest Lawn HH.


Forest Lawn Glendale is also very famous for not letting in star-seekers. Trust me, I've tried. I've seen a few famous grave-sites, but it is hard. They have people posted at the masoleums and they ask you what can they help you with and they stare you down!

So, my theory is: they moved him secretly to Forest Lawn Glendale to wait and see if they can bury him at Neverland. If not, then he'll end up at Glendale.

And no, I'm not morbid. I love old movies and when I view a really good one, I like to go and pay my respects to their actors and directors if someone is nearby me.
