MJ's body is where?

I didn't watch the service, but the various news reports say that the casket was carried onto the stage by his brothers. Was that really true, or did they just guide it on a rolling bier?

According to the Batesville Casket Company, the "Promethean" casket is solid cast bronze, and so heavy that it normally requires extra pallbearers to carry it, and a CRANE to lower it safely into a gravesite. If 5 men managed to actually carry the thing, then it had to have been empty, and probably stripped of the liner and upholstery, too.

It was on wheels most of the time. (They really should have swagged it at the service.)

it was rolled in & out.
at the end they show the coffin being loaded in the hearse. but I don't have any other of the program recorded since they started late.

From what I have read and maybe someone in Cali can confirm this, there are a few cemeteries that Forrest Lawn owns. They were saying that he may very well be buried in Forrest Lawn, just not the Hollywood Hills area. The paperwork states Forrest Hills, but does not give the specific area. Personally, I hope that they do not release this to the public. The man never received peace while alive and maybe in death, he can finally be at peace. I feel only his family and close loved ones should be aware of where he is laid to rest.

As for the story about his brain, yes they have a SMALL portion of it. It is not the entire brain. For all the toxicology and other testing, they need to wait until this portion hardens some to be able to extract and examine it thoroughly.

yes there are 5 forest lawn locations in L.A

I don't think it's anyone's business other than the family.. No need to notify the public.. Providing MJ never said he would be opposed to it, if I were his family I would have had him cremated and scattered his remains at Neverland..

To publicly announce where he is buried (if burial is what they chose) is just asking for someone to come in and deface his grave, dig his body up, or whatever.. It's best that no one ever knows..

In reference to it not being anyone's business, it being a family issue, etc-all true. BUT all of the situation is the same. The death, how he died, who takes the children, is the estate in debt, who fathered the children, what happens to the ranch....It's all the same. People are interested because he was a celebrity. Curiosity doesn't stop when the door of the hearse closes, anymore than it did the minute it was announced he died. It is kind of an all or none thing. Either speculation and curiosity is fair game, or its not.

I agree it is none of our business.

However, I have a theory!

The body was in the casket. When they left Staples, there were quite a few large vehicles leaving all at the same time. I counted one semi-truck, two cargo trucks and a few vans.

Forest Lawn HH is nice and gorgeous, but it is right up against a freeway. Forest Lawn Glendale is large, sits on top of a mountain, and has these amazing crypts and plot sizes.

Forest Lawn Glendale is a much more prestigious place to be buried and it is not very far from Staples and is kinda close to Forest Lawn HH.

Forest Lawn Glendale is also very famous for not letting in star-seekers. Trust me, I've tried. I've seen a few famous grave-sites, but it is hard. They have people posted at the masoleums and they ask you what can they help you with and they stare you down! ;)

So, my theory is: they moved him secretly to Forest Lawn Glendale to wait and see if they can bury him at Neverland. If not, then he'll end up at Glendale.

And no, I'm not morbid. I love old movies and when I view a really good one, I like to go and pay my respects to their actors and directors if someone is nearby me.

I think what you have said is interesting.

Ref you visiting graves- I don't have a problem with that either. It is like visiting a famous persons childhood home IMO.

I understand what you're saying - and my comments weren't aimed at anyone on this thread.. I'm just stating that if the family wants his burial place to remain private, they have no "obligation" to inform the public of his whereabouts.. KWIM? Sorry if my post came across differently than what I had intended....:goodvibes

Oh, not you at all, not anyone in particular. Just many thoughts that it isn't of our business. Which it isn't! But, when you are a star, there is always going to be a want for information about your life; or death.

I also think it would be best for no one to ever know where the grave is, so that the family gets some peace and privacy.

It will be just like Elivs....it will continue for years and years to come. That is just the way it works.

ok, on ET tonight they reported...
they had video & a time line of where his casket/hearse was monday. which went to Forest lawn & then left. ( I did not catch which forest lawn).
they said probably his body was left at forest lawn. the family returned to forest lawn tuesday night , all at different arrivals, in plain clothes. MJ was probably buried then in a private ceremony

I am really interested in genealogy & cemetery research,, love to visit old cemeterys,, so I guess my interest steeps off of all that too.

Several people here have mentioned the defacing of the grave, and digging him up, etc.

I don't know what your graveyards are like on the other Coast, but ours, especially Forest Lawns, are huge and have giant gates and security 24/7 and they all close at dusk or earlier. You can't sneak into one if you tried.

You can probably deface a tombstone when the place is open, but that's about it.

Frank Sinatra is buried 10 feet deep and incased in several layers of concrete. (I've just learned this recently, so I don't know details exactly) Even if you did get inside of the cemetary after hours, you'd be digging with a small shovel for a VERY long time to get to him. I'm sure you'd be noticed before you got very far. (You wouldn't be able to climb the fence with anything but a shovel.)

If you wanted to see Norma Shearer or Grauman or any of those in the old part of Forest Lawn, Glendale, you have to get past the guard, know where to go (the masoleum is HUGE inside with many, many columbariums) and then you'd have to make it past a chain. The chain isn't hard, but I've never done it. It just seems wrong and disrespectful. I'd go if the chain was down. The same goes for George Burns and Gracie Allen's crypts. All you can do is crane your neck and try to look.

I couldn't even find W.C. Fields. I was in the right area but never found him.

Interesting info! :) Here on the east coast (our area anyhow) cemeteries are usually wide open and if not, there are many, many ways people can get in.. I've never been to a cemetery where they have guards (although I'm sure they exist in D.C. or something like that).. DD and I love to explore cemeteries and many don't even have gates or fences..

It must be interesting out there - the graves that you are allowed to visit.. Is that where most of the celebs are? :)

Oh, Sammy Davis Jr. is also at Forest Lawn, Glendale, and his area is totally blocked off. You can't get near him and I'm sure the family loves it this way. He spent his entire life in front of a lens or on stage.

But, yes, I agree that the family doesn't have to do diddly to let fans know where or if MJ was buried. I'm just explaining that there can be a few ways to go about it to ensure safety of the remains and to have a nice place to visit your loved ones in rememberence.

I read this, too. Probably in a holding pattern right now - I doubt they'll do anything final until all the parts are back.

I wonder how they're going to handle his burial. I was watching a show on Abraham Lincoln recently. His casket was tampered with so often they had to move it and bury it in cement. :confused3

seriously??? Like what, his right foot and left pinkie finger???? :rotfl2:

Yes, I think so. There is a terrific website called findagrave.com that allows you to look up famous gravesites. CLEARLY it is respectful and is there for people to honor those they admired in life.

You should look up Falco's grave. Interesting...

Al Jolson's grave TOTALLY tells you he wanted people to visit. It is huge and you can see it from the 405 Freeway. It is a giant waterfall and has a visiting area.

The Hollywood Forever Cemetary and Forest Lawns, HH and Glendale seem to have the most famous people. I tend to think that Hollywood Forever seems to exploit thier famous buried people, though. They give out maps!

The epitath on Bette Davis' grave is peculiar.

Some of the most famous people have the most humble stones.

I find it all very interesting and the artwork and sculpture they have at the Forest Lawns are almost better than any museum around here.

I am quite sure that the people who need to know...ie-his family...know where it is.

The resy of us...well it's none of our beeswax!

You know how you can post almost anything on this board and someone will have experience with it, or know someone who does, and you can get an answer? Well, on another board I read one of the long time posters says he has friends & family who have mortuary connections in LA.

Of course, you guys don't have any experience with this guy and so feel free to be as skeptical as you want. He says, MJ has not been buried and was not in the coffin at the memorial. In normal families, even celebrity families, you could foresee a desire for privacy and situations where the body was whisked away to be privately handled while the attention was focused elsewhere. However, this is the Jackson family and normal has never been something associated with them.

He said there is major head butting going on, and the lead head-butter is Joe Jackson. There are fights over where he should be buried. Fight for a Neverland burial or not. There are fights over who should pay, Forest Lawn has the wacky idea that they should receive payment for their services and not comp the burial! Fights over who has authority over the decisions. And misinformation keeps the story alive, which has benefits for certain Jackson still living and trying to reassert his authority.

But like I said, feel free to take this for what you think it's worth.

I obviously don't know your friend, but this makes a lot of sense when you think about how Joe Jackson is with his family.

And silly Forest Lawn, wanting to get paid and all...
